Ive only ever gotten breakfast from here, but the food has been great and the staff here is amazing. Patrick the manager busts his ass to keep everyone accommodated and satisfied, and the rest of the staff are super friendly and actually seem to care, which is a shocker if you're familiar with general LA customer service. I get omelettes from here, and they even have the foresight to throw CHOLULAH packets in with your eggs. Not Tabasco, not some cheap hot sauce...actual Cholulah, which is outstanding. Best Ihop I know of in LA, they do a great job. read more

I came to get some food late and one of the few places open is Ihop. Not great cuisine but it's open. So I sit down and Alma my waitress takes 20 min to come take my order. It's not busy but the workers here are almost running. I think it's understaffed. So again I don't have much choice at almost midnight. So when ordering pancake combo I ask that they make the eggs scrambled light with extra butter. No one ever gets this right so I don't fault the cook here. I ask the waitress to put salt and seasoning in the food and she tells me; they can't because of all the people who don't like salt. So when did all the "hold the salt" people take over dinning? Why do we all have to suffer because of them? So no flavor on the eggs, hash browns, and as I came to find out, no flavor in the pancakes. The pancakes are all made the same. The difference is in the topping. Other than blueberry, no other pancake has flavor inside. I ate half of everything and couldn't eat anymore. I was even picking at it. The only good thing was the bacon. At least I hope it was bacon. Why you ask do I doubt the bacon? I found out that Ihop does not use real eggs and they will not tell you unless you ask. I spoke very kindly to the manager and asked, how can I ask you to use real eggs if I don't know that you use fake eggs. She just gave me a rehearsed mantra that she is not required to tell me unless I ask and that if I want to know more, go to the website. I was stunned. I asked, if those are not eggs then what was I eating? She said get this, "I'm not allowed to tell you the ingredients". At this point I was beside myself. I tried to reason with her on a personal level. I asked her if she was ok with this, she paused and like a good soldier just towed the company line, but I could tell she was not all pleased with the policy. I hope she doesn't get in trouble! So when you go to Ihop, you MUST ask for real eggs. While your at it, ask for real bacon, real potatoes, real flour, and real coffee, because I don't know what exactly I just ate. I wanted to start my New Years with my favorite strawberry banana pancakes from ihop and I always got the best stack of them just how I love it but this pathetic place also being in Venice I expected better. I have traveled to many different places and tried numerous ihop locations but this one is by far the worst. Gave me 4 pancakes two of them were burnt, had no strawberries, just one scoop of whip cream, and it wasn't even stacked properly like they were all over the place I had to make them cancel my order it was just crappy. I wish I took a pic of those crappy pancakes but I was too mad to even do that. Even the service was poor my server can't recall her name didn't even apologize or even ask if there's anything that can be done. She had really poor customer service skills. Upon arriving to the front of the store where they had open seating, we were greeted with a not so welcoming employee who seemed bored while working her shift. We walked up, she said " for 3" the gestured for us to follow her to a table. No greeting or nothing while walking us there. We were seated then a host came by who also seemed very out of it, not wanting to really be there. I asked about a particular item on the menu n which he seemed irritated while answering. We ordered our drinks which so happen to be milkshakes, with three waters, one milkshake was wrong, we ignored it, no waters brung out we ignored it. It was a bit windy but mostly a nice day, my daughter was cold, and i asked if we can go have a seat inside. We were met with the manager who came out n said " you wanna go inside, ok grab your plates and come inside" i felt he knew it came off obnoxiously so he helped with a plate and our milk shakes to an inside table. I told him that is his tone was rude n which he suggested wasn't but we both knew what it was. I asked our server for some napkins he came and slightly threw them on the table and walked away. Went for breakfast about 1PM Thursday and very few tables were occupied. The back of the dining room was roped off? Chairs were in a pile? Are they going out of business? WORST SERVICE IN L.A. - Got up and left. Don't come here. On the night of feb 2, our server didnt take our order for nearly 15 minutes had passed the kitchen was silent and no food was being made. 45 minutes had passed so far. Everyone who has already ordered before use has their food. We ask the server for a status update and he says its coming right up. We then hear FINALLY give the order to the kitchen. By far, my fave IHOP in LA! Super sweet manager (I think his name was Patrick? Sorry if I'm wrong. Still waking up.) and staff (nicely greeted by Lisette... sorry for mispelling?) even during the pandemic. The manager helped me order when I didn't really want an entire meal. I explained to him how I work 2 jobs and I didn't need all those carbs putting me to sleep. He was really patient and sweet, and my order was ready in like 10 minutes or less! AMAZING! Well, thanks to Katsu starting a thread, entitled "Pancakes,Pancakes,Pancakes" almost two weeks ago, I haven't been able to get them off my mind since that day. After reading his thread, lunchtime rolled around and I remembered that IHOP had opened on Lincoln Blvd. in the Marina this last year, so after a bit of persuasion on my part, Amy H.and I headed over there for lunch. IHOP to me offers another dose of nostalgia, as I grew up eating at various locations throughout Los Angeles. The last time I ate at one was in WeHo approximately 20 years ago. This store is clean, uncrowded, and inviting. We were greeted by a charming and very attentive waitress, Nicole. After perusing their giant menu, I selected a bacon, cheese, and avocado omelette with a side of buttermilk pancakes. Omigod!! The omelette was outstanding... big chunks of fresh bacon...lots of avocado...and plenty of cheddar cheese. It was so large it took up the entire plate. But, my food fantasy was now complete as I dug into their fluffy pancakes, complete with butter and HOT maple syrup. I was in hog heaven and I hadn't left Marina del Rey. We've already been back a second time, and caught the "all-you-can-eat" Pancake special. Woe is me. I'm going to be in sorry shape come Summer, if I keep going to IHOP!! What do Vampires and Engineering Students have in common? Well, besides being extremely pale creatures of the night with no social skills ... apparently they both love IHOP. The Marina del Rey International House of Pancakes was surprisingly busy when we hit the place for a late night meal a couple days ago. It's a 24-hour IHOP with free WiFi so there were several tables with students working on laptops and a couple tables of vampires having coffee. Both seemed to be having fun. We just came for the pancakes. The monthly special was Pumpkin Pancakes because it's Fall, I guess. The dark pancakes "almost" tasted like pumpkin, but lacked in true flavor and were a bit dry. The combo came with Eggs (Sunny-side Up), Bacon, and Hash Browns. Our other order was CINN-A-STACK Pancakes (written in an all uppercase shout out from the menu). It's Buttermilk Hotcakes layered with Cinnamon Roll Filling with Cream Cheese Icing and Whipped Cream. Sounds great. It's not. I ended up scraping most of the cinnamon filling off. If you get this, request the filling on the side and apply to taste. No one has really high expectations when hitting an IHOP. At least that is true for most of us day-walkers. New favorite pancake flavor: New York Cheesecake. Alternate covering sections with strawberry, blueberry and boysenberry syrup (the boysenberry syrup now comes in its own syrup dispenser rather than just a small saucer though you still have to specially request it, it's not out on the tables). At our most recent trip the silverware came wrapped in rough paper towels, like the kind you pull out of a bathroom paper towel dispenser and the cups of water were adorably miniature like they only had kids size glasses cleaned at the moment. We need LOTS of water with our meals so we had to ask for refills aplenty. read more

Now I know IHOP isn't known for their outstanding quality or customer service skills but some things I just expect when I walk into a restaurant such as cleanliness. We made a late night trip to IHOP. We were seated at our table towards the far back of the restaurant. There were some loud children in the restaurant and we had a sleeping infant with us so we requested to be seated further away from the noise. Little to our knowledge we would be seated at a table directly across from where someone had vomited underneath their table. Left completely unattended to. None of the employees seemed to care that it was even there for that matter. Not even an attempted to conceal it. Disgusting!!! So I guess they assumed we were suppose to eat our food across from that? Us being to lazy to go to another restaurant we just decided to get up and take it upon ourselves to move to another table. The ladies restroom also had vomit everywhere that had been left there. To top off of the whole experience our food took over a half hour to come to our table. By the time our food finally came and the whole experience I was completely disgusted and lost my appetite. The only upside was that our waitress was extremely polite. I came here today with my co-workers and mom for National Pancake Day, since IHOP offers a free stack of 3 pancakes in support of the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. I go every year to enjoy my free delicious pancakes. Such a fun event and donations go to a great cause. Today's visit was awesome. Our waiter was amazing and helpful and very attentive. The waiter was busy since it was free pancake day but he still managed to keep us happy. IHOP's manager Edward also kept coming back to check on us, making sure we had everything we needed. He went above and beyond what you'd expect from somewhere like IHOP. I was extremely please and will definitely come back.. even when I have to pay for the pancakes ;) read more

OK... I did a check in on this place, but Im gonna stress again... the pumpkin pancakes with pecans are AWESOME. This was a suggestion of Jacques, the waiter and Im ever so thankful for his suggestion. As for the joint.. its is a smaller store, so it tends to be more quiet than normal. This may be in part to the college students typing on their computers (free wi-fi here) or reading a book.. I wont complain, Im happy about this. Its a typical IHOP menu... been to one before, its easy to find what you want if your indecisive like me. The real bonus here is Jacques who always makes coming there feel like visiting with a friend up to the point you have to pay :-). Havent found anything that didnt taste good there. They do often run out of menu items, and if you go really late (they are open 24 hours) they have a limited menu, so plan for that. Yeah, yeah, yeah... its a chain restaurant, but doesnt really feel like one,,, to me atleast. read more

Well, today is Sunday May, 27th. We arrive at 9:10 and it was 10:20 and we are still waiting for food, the longest waiting time for at an Ihop. So unbelievable that there was ONLY ONE SERVER AND ONE BUSBOY in the whole restaurant, there were a lot of customers and and least they should have 3 servers for all the sections!!!! Why these things have to happen?? Why do they have to make the customer so uncomfortable and angry with this??? My party and I were starving, and it looked that they had one cooker too. That's unnaceptable.
