My favorite place for frozen yogurt. Good flavor selection and I like the assortment of special ones that come and go. Tons of great toppings and many that lots of other froyo places don't have (like cereal). Love that they have a stamp card, always makes me want to go back. They're always so friendly. The yogurt choices are plentiful. They have your requisite pumpkin for the fall but my combo - the best ever - was pistachio, dole pineapple and vanilla. Can you say yum? Add to that the mocchi balls, mango jelly, yogurt heaven! My complaint about this place is the same complaint as all yogurt places except for Golden Spoon. I don't like serve yourself toppings. No matter what you do, you cannot make it sanitary. Can't someone innovate a way to do this? But the quality of yogurt is good, not super tart like other yogurt places and more like Golden Spoon, where it tastes more like healthy ice cream. read more

I personally don't care for ultra creamy yogurt, the texture of this frozen yogurt is spot on. I also really liked that they had base flavors like peanut Butter, vanilla and chocolate. I've noticed tons of yogurt places are getting too wild with their flavors, that they don't stick to the basics. The topping selection isn't as big as other places, but it carries most of the standard toppings you would expect. The price is also about the same across most places. The yogurt dispensers are found along the wall and following that is the topping buffet (large selection) leads up to the scale. I went there recently again and they had a bunny kitten (local artist) painting and it was eating yogurt! haha Super clean and nicely air conditioned for hot days. YOGURT/TOPPINGS: seriously, one of the best i've tasted. better than Yogurtland i think! I normally default to plain tart but my favorite at In the Mix is the PINEAPPLE - O M G, totally tastes like Dole Whip! i normally add fresh strawberries, oreo's, and condensed milk - YES i said condensed milk (there are not very many yogurt places that carry it). Speaking of great toppings they had Li Hing Mui which is the islander powder made from dried plum, basically a tart but sweet topping. I also like their COFFEE, SALTED CARAMEL, and PEANUT BUTTER flaves. if you like toppings, they got you - everything from cereal to candies crushed up, Asian mochi, and fresh fruit. The only feedback for owner is to have seating in outdoor area neat & clean, and to have trash picked up often. I always see the trash bins all filled up and spilling over. In the mix is THE BEST YOGURT not only in San Diego, but in anywhere I've been in California. There are so many different yogurt places popping up and as much fun as it is to try new places, the bar has been set so high that no one can ever compete. We just got back from our guilty pleasure and it's 10:10pm. They were supposed to close at 9:00pm on Sunday night but they stiull had customers an hour after closing and when you call them to see if they're open, they always ask, "How far away are you?" meaning that they're going to stay open to feed your addiction. The yogurt is always cold (sounds silly but some places just don't know how to put the frozen in frozen yogurt). The flavors are always changing. The toppings are always stocked completely and neatly displayed. Great job and we wish you the best of success!!! read more

When the dude running the counter at Lapperts is being a little rude and they decide to close early three Sundays in a row without any notice to guests (especially relying on the hours posted on yelp, the door, etc.)... we decided it's time to hunt down another location that has the all famous Dole Whip available for consumption. The chick running the counter at In the Mix on Sunday night was as polite as you could get. The place was definitely busy -- but she still calmly and oh-so-politely stood in service to every customer that came in. Yes. They do have dole pineapple soft serve. It's been so long since I've had dole whip that I don't know if it is in fact genuine dole whip - but it sure as hell does taste like it. They had a good selection of froyo and toppings. Prices seemed reasonable and they have places to sit. Definitely plan on coming back here for our pineapple and froyo cravings. Highly recommended for a sweet end to your night. read more

There are now three yogurt places in Poway and this one tops them all: 1. If you have any food allergies. The toppings are in separate, covered containers. NONE of the other places do this and my son has a severe peanut allergy. There's much less of a cross contamination issue. 2. It is family owned, not a chain. The quality of their yogurt is delicious and rich in flavor compared to the other yogurt shops I have been to. My favorite flavors consist of Ube, Salted Caramel, Banana Shake & Pistachio. Not to mention, my parents and my little puppies LOVE Ube. I know it sounds crazy, but they get very excited when I tell them I am bringing home some yogurt! The shop is immaculate, and well-maintained by the staff. The staff is always doing rounds cleaning-up machine handles, counters, tables, floors, and the bathroom, etc. As a customer, I think that it is inevitable to judge the quality of the food based on the cleanliness of the place.
