Very disappointed at the service we received here last week. Usually we get great service here, but this time there was some guy we hadn't seen before hovering around our table. When I asked him for a special request that normally the staff is happy to fill for my 5 year old, he refused and said all they had was what was out in the buffet. I normally don't do the buffet and order from the menu, but he wasn't interested in taking any orders - he wanted all of us to eat at the buffet (said "this is a special dinner buffet" and walked off before I could say anything more). We were so turned off by his rude manner that at that point, I just refused to order. The kids meals were also overpriced; we were charged a full buffet fee for two 5 year olds, who only ate rice, a little naan, and a few cucumbers! We had brought some friends who had never eaten there before and after this experience, agreed we wouldn't return. read more

My family went here for lunch as we had heard and read positive reviews. We were not disappointed. This is a great place to go to be able to enjoy a variety of Indian dishes. The food is very good and the naan was delivered hot to our table. The naan actually comes with the buffet meal, a big plus. The restaurant itself isn't anything fancy but it's clean. It would have been nice if the waiters would have smiled or been a little more cordial. Some of them looked like they hated their job and really didn't want to be there. The food here is OK I used to like it a lot I like to use that their buffet and eats the chicken tikka masala however chicken tikka masala supposed to be used with a white meat but here they use brown meat that I don't understand their food in the buffet is good I would definitely come here and again and again and again. As a recent transplant to the area, I only tried India Oven for the first time 2 weeks ago. Sine then, have been back numerous times. The lunch buffet is only $7.95 and the food is absolutely delicious! The fresh hot naan is brought out to you whenever you want it. There is lamb on the buffet everyday and it is great! There are many vegetarian dishes to choose from and they are terrific! This is my new favorite place for any meal. The food is so great, you will go back to the buffet for more and more. The rice is cooked perfectly and they put out fresh food all throughout lunch. The vegetable pakoras are great. Since discovering this new gem in Mesa, I have had lunch there at least 3 times a week. The owner and staff are so friendly. Greeting you as you come in and checking on you throughout your meal. Filling your drink glass and bringing more hot naan. When they ask how the food is, they really want to know. I find myself waking up with the Indian music in my head and wondering, Is it 11 yet? Lunch starts at 11. The food is very flavorful. Indian spices are used perfectly. There is no need for the salt and pepper shaker on the table. The buffet is the best value and the most delicious buffet I have ever had! I've been going to India Oven for nearly two years now. My boyfriend first took me when we started dating and it's been our absolute favorite restaurant ever since. We go every 2-4 weeks, sometimes as much as 3 times a week. The flavors are OUTSTANDING! My favorite is the delicious chicken tikka masala and the vegetable dishes like palak paneer and malai paneer. The dishes are so rich and bursting with flavor. I really like their creamy Indian tea with my dinner as it is part of the buffet. They also have unlimited hot, fresh garlic naan. They always ask if you want more until food is coming out your eyeballs. I've always been seated right away except for one time when there was a wait. The staff is extremely attentive. At first I was almost disturbed by this, but got used to it. We've gone so many times that the waiter knows us by sight. He knows not to bring us the complimentary chicken and onion platter as we always want to leave as much stomach room as possible for the buffet. Before I learned portion control, I would always leave the restaurant in pain because my stomach was sooo full of yumminess. I felt like rolling out the door. After going so many times and inviting friends and family too, I have noticed that on occasion a couple of their dishes do change out, and sometimes the same dishes have different flavors or slight changes. For instance, the creamed spinach sometimes has corn or cheese squares in it. The chicken tikka masala is always there though, phew! There have only been one or two times when I've noticed a dish was lacking in flavor, but it's extremely rare. It's so affordable too. Their all-you-can-eat dinner buffet is $9.95 per person. And all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is $8.95. They do have slightly limited hours though: 11am-2:30pm for lunch, and then closed until dinner at 5pm-10pm. We forgot this once and showed up during the break. The atmosphere is interesting. They have a couple TVs that always play Bollywood musicals. Parking is never a problem, there are some spaces up front and if those fill up, there are a ton of spaces next to the building that are always empty. They also cater and host weddings and parties in their adjoining banquet hall which is quite large. When they refill the buffet, they do so by sliding the mirrors on the buffet walls open and pouring from the kitchen. It saves time and potential hazard from walking through the dining area carrying huge platters of food. They have EXCELLENT quality of food and service. And it's only $10!! You can't beat that for the divine taste of their all-you-can-eat buffet. read more

Being of Asian origin, my food is very similar to India oven's. That being said, this place has, by far, the best food in the whole valley. I've tried so many different restaurants and this one wins. I frequent this place quite a bit and have never been disappointed. Food is always consistent. Fresh nan just makes it even better. I'm not a fan of the mango lassi or the chai, but the imli (Tamarind) chutney with the pakoras or samosas is amazing. My husband and I saw the great reviews on Yelp.com about this place and decided to go there after hiking to Humphrey's Peak. We got there around 7:30pm on a Saturday night. It was busy, but we got seated right away. Immediately after entering the restaurant, a nice man greeted us and said he'd clear a table right away. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier or attentive. We were totally blown away by the selection on the buffet and that we got tandori chicken sizzling served at our table that came with the buffet. They also brought awesome garlic naan and had mango lassi on the buffet to drink as you like. The price was amazing and we're wondering just how they stay in business with prices that low! We tasted everything and nothing disappointed us. The food was delicious! We really can say nothing bad about this place. It was amazing! We live 3 hours away, but we'll definitely go back when we're back in the area! read more

I can be pretty picky about Indian food and have been disappointed by several places around the valley. This place, on the other hand, absolutely wowed me. The dinner buffet had an exceptional number of choices on both the meat side and the vegetarian side. The palak paneer was smooth and creamy and perfectly spiced. Same with the vegetable korma. The spices were well-balanced, very flavorful and an adventure for the tongue. There was just the right amount of heat, and as usual, I cooled it down a bit with a spoonful of raita, which was also delicious. There was Mango Lassie on the buffet, a great treat! My favorite dessert was there as well...gulab jamun. Try them! They are delicate balls of sweetness drifting in a wonderful syrup of cardamom and Rosewater. When we sat down with our first plate, our server brought us a sizzling plate of tandoori chicken which was fantastic. The host was friendly and checked on us several times to make sure we were happy and pleased with everything. There is a bar with a decent selection of liquors, although we had Taj Mahal beer that night. The decor was fun to look at. I can't find anything even mildly negative to say about this place.
