We came here on a Friday night and we got lucky that Nikki was our server - she was friendly and attentive and helpful with any of our questions about the menu. My drink was tasty and not too sweet - the veggie burger was really good, too. We sat at one of the inside tables by the bar but as we were leaving we spent a few minutes enjoying the live acoustic guitar singer playing on the outdoor patio - this is a fun place!

Irish 31 in Hyde Park is hands down one of our favorite spots! The staff here is absolutely amazing--so personable and welcoming that you feel like family from the moment you walk in. My family lives in the area, and we've proudly become regulars at this cozy pub. The food is fantastic! We highly recommend the wings (perfectly crispy and flavorful), the pub pretzels (the beer cheese dip is heavenly), the shepherd's pie boxty (a unique twist on a classic), and the Jax Burger (easily one of the best burgers in town). If you're looking for a place with great vibes, friendly faces, and delicious food, Irish 31 Hyde Park is the spot. We're so glad to have it as part of our community!

Perhaps its in my old age that I really love good old fashioned comfort foods. Mashed potatoes, ground meat, veggies, all lovingly layered and topped off with cheese. What more could a girl want? I thought St. Patrick's Day weekend was the PERFECT time to enjoy the classic Shepard's Pie dish, a staple that seems to be getting harder for me to find somehow... So what better place to enjoy this than Irish 31? I was in area anyway with Muffin, so we swung by. It was pretty packed due to the holiday and the time, nevertheless, it didn't take long for a friendly server to acknowledge me and usher me inside to sit anywhere I wish. Again, I had Muffin (my shih tzu) so I had to sit outside. I managed to snag a spot outside, and a few beats later, my server brought me out my menu. I've been here before, and I remember loving the Shepard's Pie here, so it was the obvious choice for me to get. I didn't take long at all for the food to arrive. I love this classic dish. Hearty ground beef with peas and carrots (so it can somewhat resemble healthy food and add a pop of color, of course) savory gravy, and creamy mashed potatoes, all baked and topped with a generous helping of cheese. Everything was perfectly layered and portioned so that I got the perfect balance of all the textures from the meat, veggies, and potato with cheese in one bite. It was VERY filling for me, so that was all I got and I left more than satisfied. I love how despite they were busy, service was friendly and quick, bringing the right vibe and energy to the holiday weekend.

Fun neighborhood bar in Hyde Park! Food was good for a bar. Typically have live music on the weekends. They also have a good happy hour!

It's that crisp on the outside that I love. I get it without the tomatoes and no mayo. Next time I'll ask for no crispies as well. I like it just it plain, perfect amount of salty is just my favorite. This place is the best place for Brussel sprouts. I also like to get the breaded cod here I've never had it better anywhere. It tastes & looks like real fresh cod. It is not shiny or glossy like frozen cod. This is the real deal fresh breaded cod. This is a real legit British food. The service is spectacular especially for a downtown bar. This restaurant is very clean. All the staff are just super friendly and they don't rush you at all. Just very sweet wholesome people staffed here. The food here is way better than Yard House 10 out of 10. However, Yard House does have the best onion rings. That's the only thing that I get there with the beer cheese cause that's the only thing that's good there. The only thing I like at Yard House are the onion rings other than that I think the rest of the food is worse than going to Chili's. Yeoman's also has TV screens and the people that come here are not as sleazy as the ones that go to Yard House. Very different clientele thank goodness. This place does not give me the heebie-jeebies when I come in here. The men here are normal and they don't flock the girls like they do at Yard House ICK. Thank goodness for a wholesome sports bar like Yeoman's!!

You can tell they do the fish well. The fries were the only disappointment. I specifically asked for them well done, but they still came out soggy and were a bit too salty for my taste. That took away from what could have been a great meal. The prices are just okay--not outrageous, but not a great value either for what you get. Overall, I'd come back for the fish, but I hope they improve the fries.

The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.

The service was attentive despite the busy night, which was appreciated.
