I give this place a one star for two reasons. Their coffee in my opinion is a two star, or maybe it's the barista. I drink high end coffee daily from all over the globe in many brew methods. This placed coffee tasted harsh and bitter Second, the people their could not be more rude. We ordered $70 for 4 drinks and a bag of beans. We tipped them $5 dollars. My youngest asked us to get a cup of ice right after our transaction, and the employee insisted I pay a dollar for it. Seriously, so tacky! Tried an iced Hawaiian honey latte here. I like how they offer various milk alternatives like almond milk and coconut milk for your coffee drink. The latte was lightly sweet and overall refreshing but it did have a very slight hint of bitterness to it. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere is cute and cozy. read more

Service was rude here. Waited 10 minutes for a toasted crosant sandwich and when I asked why it was taking so long the lady scoffed and said it takes time. I said geez and then she scoffed amd mocked my to th other lady working there. I asked her if she enjoyed her laugh and then she started yo get offended and yelled at me to just leave. This place was a wonderful surprise. It's difficult to get breakfast without leaving resort properties. The location was very convenient and the coffee/breakfast was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly every day we visited (at least 3 times during our trip). Hidden gem and will definitely visit island pressed again. We've been coming here for a few days now and no matter who works that day the service is consistently awesome. One fact I learned today regarding the Toddy cold brew, is that it's made from 5lbs of coffee per 2.5 gallons of water. That explains why I felt super high and jittery from it! Although super strong, it has 80% less acidity than that of hot brewed coffee. read more

The Hawaiian Honey Latte is amazing. They have some amazing local Kombucha flavors like Lilikoi Cherry and Kula Strawberry. Not sure who owns this place. I've been coming for about 4+ years. Staying at a resort just down the road and stopped by to get my caffeine fix. I fully intended to get the macadamia nut latte until I spotted local Valley Isle Kombucha on tap, and my little yuppie heart skipped a beat. Barista was super friendly, and since I was the only customer at the time, she indulged me with samples of all their booch flavor me. I went with the guava pineapple but they were all delicious! I also got a plain iced coffee that was very good. She was so nice, and gave me some food truck recommendations I plan to check out - even writing down the general address for me. I was in Lahaina early on a Monday and I needed coffee STAT. I jumped on Yelp to find some an awesome new place because, local coffee shops are my jam! This little gem is located just off the beaten path in a little strip mall north of Ka'anapali. There was lots of parking available at this time of the day. Just outside the front door, there is a cart of books for customers to borrow (So cool!) and a few tables with chairs. There was some shade, but the sun was just coming over over the West Maui's so don't forget your shades.. it IS sunshiny Lahaina after all... The barista was a cool local bruddah who talked story and told me the insider scoop--which coffee was best and which of the baked goods were his favorites. He whipped up my stuff with a smile and showed me where the cream/sugar station was. My coffee crumble cake and medium roasted coffee were the breakfast of champions. There were lots of other choices of foods here--banana breads, fruits, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, string cheese, sandwiches, croissants and more. Seriously. There's something for everybody.. There was a steady stream of tourists and locals making a breakfast stop here. I scored a table all to myself and even had free wi-fi. Birds chirping, sun shining and delicious coffee.. This used to be owned by Hawaiian Village Coffee, but recently got bought out. They told me they used the same coffee beans, and when I went they had one light (Kona blend) and one dark (French Roast - Vanilla/Mac Nut flavors) flavor. They also have espresso drinks, tea, and shave ice (buy 1 get 1 free on Sunday). I thought the coffee was pretty good, and the service much faster than some other coffee shops. They also sell Fiji water, coconut water, and other canned alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Nice little coffee shop near Lahaina and Kaanapali if you need a little pick me up. read more

My husband liked his iced coffee, but my latte was awful. The coffee was really burned and bitter (and this is coming from a Starbucks regular). The girls in the shop weren't friendly either. Just not a good experience for me. Also, a side note (not a knock on them, just an FYI) they have soy, coconut and almond milk, but no oat. read more

The only downside was on the yelp it said it had other food items like the ube bagel which I was excited about only to find out that it was for their other location so that was a bummer. I came here to grab a coffee and bagel and I was not impressed. I ordered a latte of some sort and a toasted bagel with cream cheese and jelly. There was only one guy working and he took quite a bit of time fulfilling my order. The latte was okay but I was super disappointed with my bagel. He charged me for a cream cheese bagel and when I got to work and opened the bag, he gave me butter, which melted bcs of the hot bagel and it was just a mess. So I basically had buttery fingers, some jelly on a toasted bagel with no cream cream and I paid almost $10. Not cool. read more

This place gets really crazy around 7:30. Come early if you can! Great selection of different coffee drinks so if you want to venture outside of the delicious kona coffee (And why would you want to? It's so good!) you're all set. They have icy blended drinks, hot cocoa, chai tea lattes, all that good stuff, and the baristas move through the line very quickly, so you're not stuck waiting too long. I kept eyeing the awesome different whole-bean coffees so I plan on taking some home back to Tennessee with me. With an assortment of yummy-looking pastries to pair with drinks, we've had breakfast here the past two mornings. Today I tried a taro bagel and was very happy with my choice. Great stop to get the morning started. I like that the service is so friendly even though it gets swamped so fast. I have to lower my review I've been here 3 times since my last review. My Quad Breve was not very strong at all, and didn't taste very good either! As a coffee drinker this is a very important beginning to my day and very disappointing when you get below average drink. Also not very friendly service, this is definitely a customer service type job. I felt like I was bothering her by being there and I spent $14 on two drinks! Wow!!! My family was in Maui for one week. They don't eat coffee shop food. Every time I ask them them if they want something from our local coffee shop they just roll their eyes. On our first day in Maui, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant from Island Press Coffee. When my wife smelled my croissant, she asked for a bite. The next day, I was told to go back and order two croissants. The coffee was amazing, so I didn't argue. On day two, my son asked for a bite of my bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. On day three, I was commanded by my family to go to Island Press and to order three croissants. Of the 7 mornings that we were in Lahaina, we ate Island Press Croissants on 6 of the 7 mornings. On the one morning that we ordered something else, everyone complained that we should have gotten an Island Press croissant! Did I mention that the coffee is amazing?!? I would live at this coffee shop if I lived on Maui! I can't give it six stars, so I'll have to give it five. read more

Right near the hotels in a back strip plaza, this tiny coffee shop was cool. The one girl running the place was efficient with our coffee and our breakfast sandwiches, all ready at the same time. Good coffee and snacks, but very poor attitude by the 2 gals at the front counter. Seemed like being there was interrupting what ever it was they wanted to be doing. I have really enjoyed going to island press coffee during my time on Maui! Our hotel was right across the street so we were able to walk there in under 5 min. Sometimes the line is super long but it goes pretty quickly. I got the coffee cake, bagel, Mac nut latte, and Hawaiian honey latte, all delicious! It's pretty pricey ($6+ for a drink) so we only went twice. Other than that it was a great experience! Even bought some beans to take home with me. read more

This place was amazing! We got the Mac nut iced latte, a Maui Mokka pour over coffee, ube milk shake for the kid, lilikoi bar, lemon bar, and ham & cheese croissant. The lady working behind the counter gave amazing service and recommendations, and everything tasted like heaven! We've been brewing their coffee beans every morning because our condo owner left them for us. We decided to visit the location when our beans ran out - definitely a must visit! Lots of other people were walking in for their morning coffee and getting fast service, she seemed to know their orders when she saw them so there are lots of regulars.
