I got an iced latte one day and a hot cappuccino another day. Their whole beans are also great and we've been enjoying the coffee all week. It's a strip mall but there are plenty of outdoor tables and books to read. They also have a few local gifts (mask made from leftover bikini material? Couldn't resist). It's a great way to try all the delicious breads, like mango and banana, which go great with the coffee, as expected. Much less busy than the coffee place in Whaler's Village. :) read more

We were staying close by and got breakfast here. - Cold brew: very smooth, not too acidic. - Banana bread: moist, not overly sweet - Breakfast croissant sandwich: with ham, egg, and cheese. As is unfortunately the case for too many of our brothers and sisters in Maui, employees of Island Press lost their homes, belongings, and livelihoods in the fire. I'm hoping that they will be reopening after the voluntary travel restriction for West Maui is lifted on October 17, if not before. If so, and if you're visiting Kaanapali or the adjacent area, please come and give your support (and money!) to IPC. BTW, my 5-star rating isn't out of sympathy. I've been there probably over 100 times over the years, and the drinks, food, and service from Ken, Taryn, Bertha, and April is always the best. read more

Good coffee. The spot in the whalers village (island vintage) is also highly rated but is worse than charbucks, so I'm glad I found this place. Coffee is nice and smooth, not overly bitter and astringent like the other tourist trap spot. Ladies are super friendly as well and they also have good food. Stopped in here this morning after my walk and picked up a couple of breakfast sandwiches for my husband and myself. We both had the sausage, egg and cheese croissant, they were delicious and so well priced! We will be stopping by again. They also have homemade Hawaiian breads, tried the pineapple, coconut and macadamia nut bread, it was incredible and worth every bite, good thing I walked first! read more

Great small coffee shop with a wide variety of options, including a bunch of flavorful Maui coffee pour-overs. My favorite was the Mokka pour-over. The price is a bit high (~$10 for 1 cup or ~$14 for 2), but I think the quality and flavor make up for it. This was the best coffee I had during my recent trip to the island. read more

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffee. We were going to be in Kaanapali for the morning and so wanted to find a place nearby and Island Press happened to be that place. It's a small store in a strip mall that faces the Honoapiilani Highway. Whenever my wife and I walked in there were two people working, both in masks. They had a chalkboard menu behind them and then a display case filled with all sorts of good looking things including croissant breakfast sandwiches. On top of that they had a number of different flavored breads of which the coconut, pineapple, Mac nut caught our eye. So we purchased that and then for our coffees I went with a 20 oz hot Hawaiian honey latte while my wife went with a 16 oz cold Mac nut latte. After a 5 minute wait or so our coffees were ready and we were headed to the beach. Once there we were able to taste them and man were they both good. My latte had a nice coffee flavor to it along with a nice sweetness coming from the honey. Then my wife's latte had a Mac nut forward flavor with a nutty sweetness at the end that wasn't overpowering. Out of the two I actually liked hers better but there wasn't any losers here with these drinks. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I really enjoyed our lattes and I would love to try one of the croissant sandwiches I was eyeing up in the future. read more

This lovely little shop is within walking distance of the various Kaanapali resorts. Very small and popular shop, but they are quick and friendly, you won't have to wait long! We tried a cold brew and a frozen chocolate mac nut frappe...divine! The frappe is so sweet and indulgent. The cold brew is a classic, with strong nutty flavor. We also snagged some mango bread and banana mac nut bread. Soft, moist, and delicious! We also got to witness a sweet personal touch during our quick visit. As we were up to order, a sweet elderly woman who was hard of hearing stepped in the doorway. It was clear she is a regular as the staff knew her by name, and knew her order. They brought her drink directly to her, then took her payment to the counter. It is little things like this that show the heart of a business and their workers! They were so busy between the two of them, but still took time to provide direct care and attention to a sweet regular customer! They are only open 6am-1pm currently, but worth the trip over a starbucks!! read more

We chose this spot because it was local and nearby in Kaanapali. We will never be going back and wouldn't recommend to anyone. We are in the service industry and had high hopes for this place. They have a great amount of options, a small seemingly good selection of breakfast items, and inside is pretty organized and comfortable. The thing they lacked was simply kindness. The two baristas were AWFUL to my boyfriend and I. All we ordered was an decaf oat milk cortado w caramel, and an oat milk mocha. My cortado first came out not decaf. When I asked, I was met with a sour no in response, 0 eye contact, not a single smile, apology, or response. When my decaf cortado came out, I couldn't smell/taste any caramel so I asked if there was some and if not can I get more. The barista continued to AGGRESSIVELY pump caramel into my coffee... 3+ pumps. We have never experienced such awful service! Really disappointed as this was our first coffee shop experience in Maui. read more

Really good coffee. Def a Kona dark roast for the espresso. Super earthy and nutty. I am used to a much more third wave esque coffee. Latte was a little too hot which brought a more traditional Italian espresso taste forward but once cooled a slight bit the flavors really came out more and I was able to enjoy it. Only place in kaanapali that I have tried that didn't have just Starbucks burnt flavor. I am not a big earthy notes fan but wife is and loved it read more

some of the best mac nut latte I've had on Maui. the espresso was perfectly extracted while the mac nut syrup was not overpowering. the macnut and milk did not overpower the espresso while still being rich and delightfully decadent. FYI, they kinda do operate on Hawaiian time. so the published hours are more suggestions than promises that they will be open. read more

This would be my local coffee shop if I lived nearby! So glad I found this place while we were staying a few days at the Maui El Dorado. We found a ton of options for drinks: coffee, espresso drinks, kombucha, bottled juices, Gatorade, bottled water. Also a variety of ready to eat food options: yogurt, banana bread, sandwiches, fruit. I ended up just getting a 16oz Americano, which was piping hot and delicious. A high five to the friendly barista for the tips on where to go for the rest of the day. We had a great time peering down on Hononlua Bay and driving the hills past Kapalua. Wish I could tell everyone at the nearby resorts to make a walk here for morning coffee. read more

My regular coffee stop when visiting Maui, Island Press makes delicious coffee and espresso starting at 6am which really helps for those of us that never seem to adjust to any time differences. Loved this spot for their kombucha! This place was close to our hotel and we stopped in several times. I am a huge fan of kombucha and my girlfriend hates when I drink it, but this place was able to turn her opinion around. They have about six flavors or so on tap and the couple of flavors we tried were all really good. My favorite was the pineapple cherry hibiscus. They will also let you sample flavors if you've never had kombucha or you can't make up your mingle on what flavor to try. Overall this is a great spot to get coffee, kombucha, and snacks. They also have a lot of pastries and breads here. The service is good and everyone that helped us out was really nice.
