This place is really good. There are some dishes that need improvement, but overall I am very impressed with the dishes. I am from Hong Kong and regularly go to Los Angeles, the dim sum restaurants in LA and HK are hard to beat. But I would say the dishes at IT dimsum are up there in ratings compare to those in LA and HK. If you want to eat good dimsum in ABQ, this is the place. Good food. As a LA native I was not expecting much but my mom wanted some chinese food while in Albuquerque so I found this place and was presently surprised. Salty fish chicken fried rice was good but needs more salted fish. Beef chow fun was good flavor. Fried smelt was great. Tofu soup needs more ginger flavor. Baked pineapple custard is the runny custard good flavor. Char siu was surprisingly done well. Siu mai was nothing special but was decent. read more

The atmosphere was nice, but the food was below average. I had been going to another dim sum restaurant since I moved here but decided to give this place a go. The menu was small, food was much more pricey than what I was used to, and it's sad to say this is the first time I had not taken the leftovers home with me. A lot of the food I had ordered was cold in the middle and seemed like it had been made earlier in the day and microwaved. EDIT (1/11/20): After coming here on biweekly basis (okay, maybe monthly) since my first visit, I felt obligated to update my review. I hold fast to my initial impressions about the first few dishes I tried. Since then, I have absolutely fallen in love with their congee (chicken and pork) and for an unknown reason, also with their beef chow fun. I have to get these every time I go (which is often, please see credit card statement). I also insist on the salt and pepper squid on each visit. The chive dumplings are great as are the shrimp puffs. Some other time, I will get my act together and order the BBQ pork and the roast duck. But for now, take my word for it that this place really helps stave off the overwhelming desire to fly to California for some SGV dim sum or h*ck, even Sam Woo!! Just need a vegetable option on the menu besides the Chinese broccoli. Bok choy? Garlic green beans? I will happily order any of these if you bring them on board! Try them as a special and see what people think. The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce can get a bit tiresome if you're there as often as I am. read more

Flat noodles with beef was inedible. The "beef" was disgusting gristle , like chewing on rubber bands. Not worth 1 cent let alone the $11.00. We wouldn't be back. So all the pieces of beef were spit out by 4 people onto the plates and the waitress doesn't ask.."was some thing wrong "? Oh yeah ... no drink refills. They wouldn't be around long. Pretty sure most of the 5 star ratings are fake. Unless you've NEVER eaten at a restaurant before, this beef was unacceptable for human or animal consumption and it's totally obvious it's all pre cooked and microwaved. read more

My experience with dim sum is in San Fransisco China Town. I always look forward to going and keep an eye out for dim sum in other cities. When in Albuquerque I searched and found It Dimsum. The inside didn't look like a China Town restaurant but the dim sum sure was good. Two of my friends who never had dim sum before loved it. We will certainly go back when in Albuquerque. read more

The wife was having a hankering for pork bao. We made the journey down from SF to try IT. Slightly different operating system than I'm used to for Dim Sum but understandable when you can't count on a consistently packed dining room but if you are going to take orders and wait serve the tables, you should actually provide real service. Look around at you tables and notice when patrons are in need. Don't hide behind a tall counter stacked high with bowls, and when you seat 2 people at a table, maybe make sure there are 2 sets of chopstick? All little things, just sayin. Food was really quite good, pan fried chive dumplings were the favorite of the night, everything was at least decent, mushroom shumai seemed a little weird, sort of skinless meatballs, a little visually challenging but decently tasty. Steamed and baked pork buns very good, steamed pork dumpling very good, shrimp rice noodle and potstickers excellent. We'll be back. read more

We ordered delivery and it was not good at all. Everything tasted like it was fried in an over-used batch of oil that gave everything a dirty food oil taste. Some of the dim sum items had melted the styrofoam container - that can't be safe to eat the food with melted styrofoam on it so we tossed those items. The chicken was a weird consistency. I was really looking forward to this place because of all the reviews and how much I love dim sum. Food was sub par, Ming Dynasty is definitely the best place in the city. This is my first time going, I ordered $40 worth of food and had to throw most of it away because I kept finding multiple small black hairs in my food. The kitchen is blocked off so you can't see if they're keeping things up to date on a health level. Very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back to a place that is not sanitary what so ever. During covid too, this is disgusting. Should be the cleanest they've ever been cause there's a deadly virus going around right? Not here. read more

We ate lunch there today and it was one of the best experiences I have had at a new restaurant!! The food was Wonderful, the place was packed, and we had a great time. With soo many people there, it was a little noisy, the servers were busy, but they took care of us, we had great food, and most of all...the price was right! I really do not know much about DimSum having only eaten it twice before, yet I found it delicious. Everything about this place is awesome. The food was yummy. I have shrimp chow main. It wasn't like chow main that I've had before. It has thin long noodles but lots of flavor. I also tried the sweet cream buns. I would go back for the buns alone. They are airy and light; Not too sweet. The beef rice noodle was interesting but tasty. this was terrible service. We waited for over an hour for our food and was only brought half of the items. By the time we got the roasted bbq duck and pork it was over cooked and mostly bone literally one bite of duck. When we asked for a Togo box and for the duck to be taken off the waitress threw away all of our food and still tried to charge us for it. We told her that one of the items were tasty and we wanted to keep it and she just threw it away. Complete not worth the wait! We left disappointed and hungry. The food is a 7 out of 10. Environment looks clean but the service is awfully slow. There was hardly anyone there when we went and yet we had to wait for 40mins before we got our food. The wooden chair was beginning to hurt my butt! It's a constant problem every time we come here, about 6 times so far. We usually get the chicken feet, the tofu wrap, the tripe, and have tried the duck and bbq pork noodle soup. The duck, pork, and noodle were good but the broth is salty.The noodle is chewy and bouncy, not soggy. My suggestion is that if a group is ordering several dishes, start making maybe 2 and move on to another order and come back around to the first. That way those people food will come out hot and other people wouldn't have to wait so long. What they do is make all the order at one time and that means everyone else have to wait and when you have 6 dishes at the same time, some will get cold and there's no room on the table to eat. It's not the best dim sum place but then again there really is no great dim sum in Albuquerque which makes this place better than the few in town. read more

I've eaten at many Dim Sum restaurants around the country in large cities, this is the best I have tried. So fresh, hot, and delicious! They do not use the traditional cart but order off the menu and bring it to your table. This keeps the tasty treats so fresh and hot. The food is not over sauced or over seasoned. First off, I do not recommend this location. When I heard there was another dim sum location opening, I was extremely excited. I have tried Dim Sum and have pretty high standards towards Dim Sum. But tonight I came in and it was not to busy. The workers there did not seemed to really care when you were ready to order until we said something. The food took a while to come and most food we got was not to great and was blend. We got a few plates and after that we decided to get just pay and go to another place to eat. When we want to pay, the workers did not done anything until we said that we are ready to pay otherwise they would just keep on doing what they were doing. UNBELIEVABLE! read more
