Fabulous! The best meal I had while visiting Albuquerque. So nice I had to have it twice. Don't miss out on this amazing spot.

We've been meaning to try this place since we first moved here a year ago, but somehow it took us this long (pandemic didn't help the situation). We recently got take-out and took it to a nearby park for a little dimsum picnic :) Prices range from $3.95 to $6.95 for the dim sum items (not including fried rice or noodle dishes), which is pricey compared to what we get back home in CA, and, as usual, the taste isn't as good as back home either. They have all the staples, like har gow, rice noodles, buns, and sticky rice. The food was pretty hot, and stayed hot until we got to our picnic area, but still didn't taste "fresh". Things felt a little...mushy? Like the cruller rice noodle roll, the cruller wasn't crispy at all, the daikon cake wasn't crispy on the outside, and the filling of the baked bbq pork bun was mushy too (whereas the good stuff has distinct pieces and chunks of bbq pork), to name a few things. We still need to try out Ming Dynasty, but for our single dim sum experience in ABQ, it's OK...it satisfied our dim sum craving without leaving us feeling (too) disappointed, but it obviously doesn't measure up to what we're used to. read more

We came to IT DIMSUM on their grand opening day when they offered a 15% discount on all orders. We've never had dimsum before so I was pretty excited to try it. I liked that the menu had photos on it so you could get an idea of what it was and how many pieces came with an order. They had water containers on each table so you could refill as needed which was nice until we ran out, and it was a little hard to get the attention of the server. We ordered quite a bit to get a variety and I was pretty happy with everything except the curry. I'd go back again to try other things but it is on the total opposite side of town from where we live so I'd have to already be in the area to go back. read more

I was so happy to finally find a place in ABQ which doesn't serve general Tso chicken and the like. I am no expert of Chinese food, but the Dim Sum here reminded me of those I had with Chinese friends elsewhere in the world. I wasn't brave enough to taste the chicken feet but glad to spot them on the menu (which offers a handy way to select: you mark what you want directly on it with an erasable pen). Only one remark: there is an extremely limited choice of vegetarian dim sum. Our server was very nice and pointed out the vegetarian options, yet if you're looking for vegetarian dim sum, uoull pretty much have to order the sweet rather than the savory ones. Bought the dim sum here for my husband and his co-worker and they said it was the worst dim sum they ever had. There was just no flavors. I will eventually give it another try in the future. I really want asian businesses to do well here in New Mexico. read more

The environment of this restaurant screamed country barnyard despite being a dim sum restaurant, that's not a complaint but rather an observation. Truthfully there are no complaints to be had. The ladies who were waiting tables were friendly and attentive. The restaurant clean and well kept. AND THE FOOD....wow. This was truly great date night. read more

I'm someone who has enjoyed dimsum in Hong Kong, everywhere in Los Angels, everywhere in San Francisco, Vancouver and New York. Unfortunately, at IT DIMSUM, you miss out on the "Dimsum" experience of a large chaotic banquet hall with ladies pushing carts around yelling at you in Cantonese which makes it so fun to eat and you must trade that for a snazzy reasonably well lit cafe with tasteful, modern seating and decor (not what I really want when it comes to dimsum) but holy smokes, "IT" is excellent! I had high hopes for this place and I wasn't disappointed. No table didn't have at least one native or ethnic Chinese person at it. Clearly, this ABQ Asian population of which my family are members have caught on! I love the ordering procedure of circling items on the laminated menu. We were worried we ordered too much but there wasn't a drop left. And it wasn't expensive either! Try the roasted duck ramen on the back of the menu... wow! One of the easiest meats to cook incorrectly but even sitting in soup, the skin in crispy and the fat is cooked out. The noodles in the soup and dimsum were prepared to perfection. This place is a WINNER, possibly one of the best restaurants in the city. If only we could get a proper Mexican restaurant for the area (especially one that serves machacca con huevos breakfast), I'd be set! read more

Just found my new go-to dim sum place in town (granted the options are slim). I went twice and was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the previously "meh" dishes have improved. Obviously it won't compare to big cities with plenty of dim sum options but this place is still a solid restaurant with tasty dim sum. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Apparently they had some hiccups during the opening week but service was impeccable when I went so they must have fixed those issues. Dishes I enjoyed: Shrimp Har Gow - one of the improved dishes. The filling is cooked well and tastes much more authentic than before! Steamed Pork Dumplings - delicious, soupy, meat is flavored just right Sesame Ball - also made well. The red bean filling is delicious and the outside is crispy. Baked Egg Tart - this was originally much flakier and more buttery than the traditional egg tart but they've changed the recipe so it tastes more authentic Pork Porridge - has less pork than other places but that didn't detract from the porridge's delicious flavor Cruller Rice Noodle Ball - also made correctly. The fried dough had the right texture and seasoning BBQ Pork Bun - BBQ pork just tastes good everywhere The Steamed Chicken Feet, Rice Noodles, and Pork Shumai were okay but could be improved in terms of taste and texture. read more

This place is too small for the carts to go around, so you have to order from the menu. Pros: menu with pictures so you know what you are getting; Cons: it's hard to keep track of what you order and if they are busy, sometimes you get charged but never receive the food. Modern and sleek decor, but I feel like it's not necessary. They serve water in a stainless steel bottle with fancy cups, but never come to refill it because they cannot see if you run out. We enjoyed our food, but the portion is a little small. I meant small pork buns, small lo mai gai ( sticky rice in lotus leaves), small siumai. They are missing red vinegar and chili oil, which I love to have with my DIMSUM. Overall, mediocre food and service. However, it's always nice to have the second decent DIMSUM place in town Update: came back today and the service really wow me, very attentive and fast. The service is much faster and better than when they opened. The dim sum is probably average compared to the places in San Francisco. The custard buns and beef noodle rolls were really good. Also the beef stir fry noodles. Since this is the only place in Albuquerque that serves good dim sum I will be back. A little pricey. read more

I've been searching for a place like this for YEARS! I had a hard time not ordering everything ok the menu (I ended up ordering 9 dishes... Even though it was only me eating here today). I truly enjoyed everything, but I particularly loved the steamed pork dumpling. It was tasty and had a nice little crunch to it that I wasn't expecting. I had never tried mushroom shumai before and now I think I'll need to get that every time I come here. Thankfully, I live close by... I'll be coming here frequently, I'm sure. Would give 3.5 stars if Yelp would allow it. Dimsum here is not bad for ABQ. Room for improvement, but I wouldn't mind coming back if I was craving it. Here's the breakdown: Sticky rice - Hard NO. This was really wet (read: not sticky) and had a weird flavor to it. Siumai - Not great Hargow - Ok Xiaolongbao - Ok. But the place didn't provide us any spoons. How am I supposed to eat xiaolongbao correctly with no soup spoons? Cheongfan - Ok Egg custard bun - Ok Charsiu bao - Small, and the charsiu was quite minimal, but still ok overall Egg tart - EAT THIS YOU WON'T REGRET IT. Will satisfy my egg tart cravings from now on here Suggestion to owners: Train the employees to clear empty plates frequently. Dimsum plates empty out fast, and you gotta make room for more orders. read more

Yum! DimSum is so good. Made fresh to order except in the weekends they have the cart they push around. Sometimes it's hard to understand them but the food is amazing! My kids love coming here. Huge place so they are able to accept big parties and are very attentive but not overly attentive :-) Delicious and a must try! read more

I love Dim Sum, it's the brunch for Asians and IT Dim Sum is a go for me. Tips for anyone who haven't had dim sum before, be prepared to pay. While the items are under $6, the number of your orders accumulate pretty fast. I have spent $50 with just me and my hubby but I do like different assortments and wanted to see if I do like it. Dim Sum is usually good for big groups because you can try different dish and split it among everyone. The Thai ice tea is not good, it's bitter and not even sweet. It's just not my taste. The mango pudding is also a no for me. It didn't taste too much of mango and the it's more of a hard Jell-O consistency than pudding. My husband loves it though so give a try. The service is okay. Most Asian restaurant doesn't really hover at you like more restaurant, honestly it's the culture. I know, I'm Asian. They did bring out the food pretty fast and I enjoy almost all of it. My favorite is the sesame bun though I am impartial when it comes to anything with red bean and the egg tart was also delicious, it's very delicate and sumptuous (not took sweet). read more

I am beyond upset with the food and the service that I experienced tonight and for the owner/mgr to argue with me made this experience 1000x worse! I hardly write reviews, however, the experience I had this evening was awful and despicable! The noodles under the magnolian beef were undercooked and the beef was awful!!! I drove all the way back (miles from home) to return my meal and she still disputed with me. I will never attend this establishment again and will definitely tell all of my friends not to go there because I think not only was the food undercooked but the service was unprofessional. This is my second and last time here. On both occasions, I was charged for items I didn't receive and accused of lying in order to get out of paying. In addition, it is horrible service and you should expect to separately write down what you order before you give them your order. They rely on the dry erase menus so you can forget and they can charge you even for the things you didn't receive. I came to celebrate my birthday here with my family, so it was a party of 8. Although we thoroughly enjoyed the food, my server didn't check on us once. I had to flag her down each time I needed any assistance. Two of those times was just to refill our water (she never checked on us to even ask if we wanted something other than water). As we get our food and begin eating, we notice some of our food hasn't come out. We figure we would continue eating until it did, but it never came. We had to flag her down and ask her about it and she tells me that they ran out of it. Running out of a menu item was not the problem, but rather that she didn't bother telling us or updating us about our food. It also led me to notice that a few of our other items weren't brought to the table, which concerned me because my first experience had this same problem of forgetting to put in certain orders. In fact, they argued with me the first time about how we received them and tried to charge us for the missing items. Because of this previous concern and how long we waited, I approached the front desk for clarification with my order as well as my to-go order to bring home. I cannot believe how unprofessional they were. They told me they never even put in the order for my missing food items and any items for the to-go order. And since it was a party of 8, they charged a mandatory gratuity tip and decided they did not need to serve us well. Finally, they just scoffed at me when I was mentioning my concerns regarding my order, so I decided to just pay the bill and leave. I will no longer spend any time or money here. read more

The food all tasted good but service was bad. All our dishes were brought out in very staggered times so that one person was done eating by the time the other persons food came. When we had questions about the menu it took forever to have someone come over even after flagging down two staff. Our drinks were never refilled and we not checked on. It was incredibly frustrating. One of the items we ordered never came to the table and when we asked for our check to be itemized to see if we had been charged for it, they ignored us. We paid up front because our server wouldn't come back. There only maybe 6 tables with 1-2 people each at them. This review is close to 4 stars. This has been our 5th visit. Service is generally good unless it's a newer person that isn't sure where your table is to bring your order. Prices don't equal portion sizes but taste of food gets a pass for the higher dollar amount. Food is fresh but sometimes not the hottest if the newer staff is looking for your table and then goes back behind the counter to confirm location. Menu selection is not large but for being one of 3 restaurants offering dim sum in ABQ it's been the most consistent. I came by not too hungry but wanted to try this place. We only had shu mai, fried meatballs, and baked bbq pork bun. All was good. So I went a second time and took my sisters with me. We had a lot more this time. Everything was tasty! We even got a half of a roasted duck that I had been craving. I would recommend it all! The only thing this time was the service was really slow. They forgot about us and took tables that came in after us first and they forgot to put some of our dishes in so we ate everything and had to wait longer for the rest of our food. Awesome food, especially the red bean sesame balls. They are the best I've ever had. Didn't care too much for the mango pudding. The taste was good, but the texture was jelly-ish. The service could use some improvement. It took quite some time for a server to come over to our table and getting a refill on a drink is nearly impossible unless you literally stand up and wave your arms around. The food took awhile to come out of the kitchen, but it was well worth the wait. If not for the inattentive service, I would have given them a higher rating. read more

After traveling through Colorado and New Mexico the past week, my stomach has been begging for some non spicy food. We were surprised to find dim sum here. I've had dim sum pretty much everywhere... NYC, LA, SF, and Hong Kong. This place was a great option when you have a craving. The baked bbq pork buns, sesame balls, bean curd skin rolls and egg tarts were excellent. The cruller crepe, spare ribs, shrimp balls were good. The weakest items we ordered surprisingly were the ha gow (shrimp dumpling) and siu mai. They tasted a bit fishy to me like the shrimp wasn't the freshest. The dumpling skin was also too thick and sticky. I would also recommend extra sauce on the crepe dishes. The service was good and everyone was nice. Would definitely recommend if you have a craving for dim sum. read more

I moved to Santa Fe about a year and I had been spoiled in Northern California with lots of dim sum options. I was really happy to find this place by accident on a trip to Albuquerque! I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the food and authenticity. Hopefully they will branch out to Santa Fe eventually, but definitely worth a 45 minute drive if they don't. read more

While my family and I were excited that a new dimsum place had opened, the undercooked pork in the Shumai had diminished our excitement. That being said, the staff was quite accommodating and cooked the shumai longer when asked. During our visit, we also tried the Red Bean Paste and Bbq Pork Buns, both of which I was a fan of.
