    Steak sampler
    Enita N.

Came here after watching the Mortal Kombat movie was looking for something that was close to the house and stumbled upon this restaurant We were greeted and sat right away. They had a lot of options. We weren't really sure what to get. We decided to get the steak sampler which was the highlight. It was absolutely delicious. We got some chicken karage which was good. It came with a lot and a sushi platter we also got a carpaccio which we actually sent back because we did not like it at all!! would they nicely, took off the bill and let us exchange it for the calamari and the calamari was very good. We will definitely return to this place. It's nice that it's close to the house and supposedly their Ramen is in the top 100 list on Yelp so definitely will have to come back and check that out if you're in the area, don't skip this place. Its worth the stop stop

When I'm in Vegas, I always wanna try great Izakaya places and came upon this new place. Wow, what a great find for a new place off the strip. As soon as we walked in, we greeted nicely and got seated right away. Looking through the menu, they have different kind of choices and also they put some special menu on the wall as well, very Tokyo style. Everything that we had was so umami. The tebasaki is a winner, we had to order twice. It's very crispy and juicy on the inside, not dry or overly fried as well. The a5 wagyu is just melt in your mouth and the croquette, is the best I've ever had. It's perfectly creamy, light and crispy. The service is very attentive as well. Definitely will go back here when we're in Vegas again!

I stopped by for a late snack and was pleasantly surprised with how good the yakitori was. I ordered the chicken wings, pork belly with daikon and ponzu, chicken thigh, skirt steak, and wagyu beef skewer. I highly recommend the skirt steak and wagyu. The beef was so tender, well seasoned, and you could taste the fire from the charcoal. It was so good that we had to get another order. The chicken wings were also delicious and crispy. I would definitely recommend this place as the service is quick and friendly, and the food is very good and appropriately priced.

I got here on Thursday night and was seated really quickly. I ordered the Tebaski Chicken Wings, Chicken Thigh (Tare), A5 Wagyu Beef, Wagyu Skirt and the Pork Belly. I love that you can order individual items based on your hunger level. My favorite was the Wagyu skirt as it was more grilled while still being super tender and flavorful. The A5 Wagyu beef, and the chicken thigh were also good, but nothing outstanding. The chicken wings were a little bit salty for my liking but it was crisp. I've had a similar experience in Japan and would say the ones there had more of a grilled flavor.

This place has been bookmarked for a few months now, and I finally checked it out today. The interior was beautiful and the vibe was great. Everyone was really nice, and the service was excellent. I ordered chicken hearts, A5 wagyu beef, and pork belly skewers. We also got the beef bowl, fried calamari, and spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was on the smaller side and was just okay. The calamari and beef bowl were amazing. I finished the beef bowl fast. The pork belly and wagyu skewers were absolutely outstanding! Tender and perfectly seasoned. They were so good that I went ahead and ordered more. They totally exceeded my expectations. This place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

The meal was awesome! I just finished the miso soup and chasu bowl, and I loved it, felt quite full afterwards which is good!

Pork belly skewer (salt and tare) and the chicken wings were the highlights from this quaint and clean izakaya spot. We tried the Wagyu trio and king oyster mushrooms as well, but the Wagyu seemed like just normal beef steak. Service was kind and served all of the items fresh and hot. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with notes of Japan and menu items on the walls.

We decided to come here for dinner for dinner as we wanted something chill and and off the strip. We ordered a good assortment of items to share. I enjoyed the variety of skewers, chicken wings, karaage, American wagyu assortment, and the chasu bowl. The prices were reasonable with decent portion sizes.

I recently had the chance to dine at Izakaya Shun, and it ended up being such a pleasant surprise. We honestly didn't know what to expect going in. We were in town visiting our daughter, who attends University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and since she had class that evening, dinner ended up being a bit late. We were also celebrating my wife's birthday, so we were just looking for something good and close to our hotel--not too far, not too complicated. Izakaya Shun checked all the boxes, and we're really glad we gave it a try. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt relaxed and welcoming--exactly what you'd hope for in an izakaya. The food was where this place really stood out. The 3 American Wagyu Assortment (flap, short rib, and ichibo/picanha) was excellent--cooked perfectly medium rare, juicy, and incredibly tender. That was definitely a highlight of the night. The chirashi bowl was also very good, fresh and well-balanced. And something that might sound simple but really impressed us--the Kurobuta sausage skewers--were absolutely delicious. We also saved room for dessert, and I'm glad we did. The Japanese ice cream with brown sugar syrup was a nice sweet finish, but the standout was the choco banana waffle with vanilla ice cream, banana slices, and chocolate syrup--that was hands down the best! Service was another highlight. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that two of our servers were from Hawaii--just like us. That small connection made the experience feel even more special. Overall, what started as a convenient dinner option turned into a really memorable birthday celebration. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'd definitely come back again.

We originally were going to eat at chipotle when we stumbled upon this restaurant. Great food, good service, and reasonably priced. The ramen was $18.80, the karaage mayo bowl was $9.80, and the wagyu was $20.80 and let me tell you it was worth every penny. The wagyu was my favorite as the meat just melts in your mouth. The karaage was also really good very flavorful and crispy. My family prefers the ramen broth to be a little more rich but it was okay. The restaurant was empty when we went around 8pm but don't let that stop you. We're so glad we decided to check it out.

no alcohol?!!! Good food but to me izakaya=beer, sake, and nihonshu so I took a star off. I will not return until they get their liquor license. How can you eat this with water and soft drinks? Also, I felt their food was a bit bland... I ended up using the salt and shichimi on the table. Good interior and vibe though. I wish the construction would end soon too

I don't think they are usually this busy though, as they were definitely understaffed that evening. Service was consistent throughout the night, and the servers were cheerful and doing their best to take care of everyone. The restaurants design is very relaxed, with some optional bar seating to watch the chefs cook and roast the skewers, with additional options for booths. After 10 PM, they offer a happy hour special with $5 hand rolls, cheap drinks, and basically half off of all their skewers, potatoes, and small bites. On the particular evening that we went, either they were extra busy and had too much customers from CES... but they ran out of sushi rice and did not have any hand rolls....How does a Japanese restaurant run out of rice??? We were super disappointed and ended up just getting skewers. Itzakaya Tora, you definitely need to step up your game and have better management in the future for these big events. I don't think they are that new of a restaurant, but they definitely let me down. Chicken and pork skewers ($2 per skewer, 7/10) - super juicy! You can definitely taste the charcoal and barbecue flavor. They do a great job of keeping each skewer, moist and juicy, that I didn't feel like I was eating burnt skewers like you get at some other restaurants. - $2 per skewer is pretty good for the happy hour deal, but I think it's much more expensive during the regular menu option. Don't think it would be particularly worth it with their regular menu. Overall, super disappointed that they didn't have any more of their sushi, rice and best do not have any $5 hand rolls during their happy hour. Also, the wait was super long to get in, and they were definitely understaffed. If they had all their food selections available, this would probably be a higher rating, but the long weight and lack of menu items was super disappointing.

I have come by for happy hour multiple times which is when they do these $5 hand rolls, I could be wrong but I believe they are $5. I recall getting yellowtail and it's delicious. Izakaya Tora is a Japanese restaurant off of paradise really close to the strip and the sphere. It is fairly small, but they have non ayce sushi which does = higher prices but better quality. They have a pretty large menu of kitchen items, sake and drinks, and sushi and sashimi. At this visit we shared a scallop crudo that we liked, a yellowtail crudo that we loved, lamb chops were good, and I believe three rolls. One of the rolls we didn't like because they make the srirachi in house which was more sweet than spicy, but the others were good. I do like this place but it is not a quick stop type of place. It's a spot you come and hang out and take your time. Food can take some time but worth it with the quality and taste. It is also not cheap so more a quality over quantity situation. Service can be a little slow but pleasant. Overall I do like this spot for happy hour if I want a late night drink and bite of sushi.

My family made a reservation because they wanted to celebrate my birthday, so I was really looking forward to it. When it is your birthday, even a small detail feels a little more important. You want the night to feel special, smooth, and happy from the beginning. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there seemed to be a small issue with the reservation, and the table we were given was much smaller than expected. Since we were there as a family for a birthday dinner, it felt uncomfortable at first. I have to be honest -- my mood was not great in the beginning. It was one of those moments where you think, "Oh no, is this how the night is going to start?" But then the food started coming out, and Hachi completely turned the night around. The first thing that changed my mood was the beer. The draft beer was served in an unbelievably icy-cold mug. It was not just cold -- it looked and felt like it had come straight out of a freezer. The foam was smooth, the beer was crisp, and the first sip was so refreshing that I almost forgot I had been upset a few minutes earlier. That beer alone deserves applause. Sometimes a perfect cold beer can fix a whole mood, and this one absolutely did. The biggest highlight of the night was the tuna toro. It was incredible. The texture was so soft and delicate that it almost felt like cotton candy melting in my mouth. Rich, buttery, fresh, and so smooth. It was the kind of bite that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a second. We loved it so much that we ordered it three times. Ordering the same dish three times says everything. It was not a maybe. It was not a "let's think about it." It was a clear yes every time. The skewers were also very good. The grilled meats had a nice smoky flavor, and they were seasoned well without being too salty. They paired perfectly with the icy beer. But the shrimp skewer was especially memorable. The shrimp had that perfect bouncy, juicy texture. It was grilled nicely, still tender, and full of natural sweetness. Some grilled shrimp can become dry or forgettable, but this one had personality. Small skewer, big impact. We also enjoyed several other izakaya-style dishes. The grilled shishito peppers with bonito flakes were simple but delicious, and they helped balance out the richer dishes. The grilled squid had a great smoky flavor and a chewy texture that went so well with beer. These are exactly the kinds of dishes that make izakaya dining so fun -- one bite, one sip, one more bite, and suddenly the table is full of happy people. The sashimi platter was fresh and beautifully served over ice. There was a nice variety, including tuna, salmon, white fish, scallop, and ikura. Everything looked clean and fresh, and the presentation made it feel even more enjoyable. But honestly, the toro was the star. I will probably remember that toro for a long time. My daughter ordered tonkatsu, and that was also a huge hit. Sometimes at restaurants like this, kids' dishes can feel like an afterthought, but this tonkatsu was really good. It was crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. Seeing my daughter enjoy her food made my birthday dinner even better. As a mom, when your child eats well and is happy, the whole meal suddenly feels more peaceful. That is just the truth. Overall, Hachi started with a little frustration because of the reservation issue and the small table, but the food and drinks completely saved the night. The icy-cold beer, the amazing tuna toro, the juicy shrimp skewer, and the tonkatsu were all memorable. The food was strong enough to make us forget the rough beginning, and by the end of the meal, we were all happy. Las Vegas has so many flashy restaurants, but Hachi has that casual, comfortable izakaya charm. It is the kind of place where you order many small dishes, share with the table, drink something cold, and let the night slowly become fun. I would definitely come back next time I am in Las Vegas. Next time, I already know what I am ordering first: an icy-cold beer and tuna toro. And honestly, I may order the toro twice from the beginning, because one order is definitely not enough.

Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch.
