Chicken dinner with the macaroni and cheese
    Jason H.

Been here quite a few times for work lunches. It's a very solid lunch spot with an upscale feel. They have a little bit of everything to choose from. I like the chicken dinner as well as the prime rib. But the two stars are the macaroni and cheese and the carrot cake. Neither are average by any means! Trust me, just get both! Service and atmosphere are always fantastic.

Located @ 5245 Peachtree Pkwy Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 Health Score 90 = A on 5/4/2025 Alisha was our waitress today and she was an outstanding server. Very efficient with our orders and she offered service with a smile. She checked on our table multiple times. For an appetizer we enjoyed the Hong Kong Shrimp, and for dinner we enjoyed the Cypress Salad and the Salmon Salad. The food was delicious and the aroma from the kitchen made me want to order more food. The ambiance was busy with families dining in for lunch. Without a doubt, I'd definitely recommend this restaurant for lunch and dinner. It was the Hong Kong Shrimp for me. It's my favorite dish and can be chosen for an appetizer or your entree.

Dined in for dinner with my fiancé and the staff was really nice and understanding as they accommodated us last minute. The food was great as well as the drinks.

the service is impeccable and I thought that would be the best thing about the place until I ate the food, the menu is very diverse so you'll definitely find something you like and anything you choose will taste amazing.

PILE HIGH ROASTED PRIME RIB WITH THE JUS, FF & HORSERADISH DIP!'
    Roi J.

Invited 2 out of town guests to J. Alexander's, Peachtree Pkwy, yesterday! They loved the fried calamari (perfectly tender inside and crisp outside)! Our entrées (main courses, really, bcoz Entrée is French for appetizer) consisted of the Salmon (cooked perfectly) & Burger (asked for Medium came out well done) for our friends, the Cod Fish Taco for my wife & the Prime Rib French Dip for me! Everyone loved their MC!! My French Dip was the Best I ever had - piled high, pink roasted tender beef with the Jus & Horseradish. The fries were absolutely great! My wife loved her Fish Taco and Rice 'n Beans side, however they could have used less (1/2 less) cole slaw & more Cod (1/2 more) in the Tacos. Our server, Jacob was exceptional, and right on top of our every necessities. Professional & knowledgeable for sure!! Thanks Jacob! One small detail though... the silverware needs polishing before being given to us in a napkin roll up - an easy task the servers should easily administer to.

    Seared Ahi Tuna Steak

This place has great service and great food. We had a business meeting a few weeks ago and the service was superb. A couple of days ago I went and had the seared ahí tuna with rice and fresh cut tomatoes Cierra was very pleasant to work with, she ensured that my water was always full, that I had the food cook to ordered and light conversation. The restaurant is clean, lots of windows which gives it a wide open concept. I have had the prime rim there and it is also on point but this time I did not have it. My friend ordered the dip in sandwich but I did not take a picture.

    Tuna ahi burger

Got the ahi tuna burger with fries (around $17) and it was pretty good. I think this was the special of the week. A large portion of fries came with it and it's thin fries. My only thing is that the dish, both the burger and the fries started to get a bit too salty halfway through. I saw other tables getting the salads which were huge and looked good so might try that next time. Service was truly amazing, from the ppl who were greeting and leading you to your table to the ppl taking your order. Ambiance and decor is nice, it soorttttt of reminds me of a Cheesecake Factory but rather than overwhelming chatter, it's pretty calm and quiet. I would say this is like a place to grab lunch with your family on a Sunday if that makes sense.

    Smoked Salmon Dip
    Jarrod F.

Decided to stop in to J. Alexander one Sunday after church for some lunch with friends. Never been before, but always passed it and imagined they were good because their lot was packed. Well I was correct, the food was delicious! I ordered the Nashville hot sandwich with fries while my wife ordered the fish tacos. Our friends ordered the Rotisserie chicken meal and their lunch special: which was grilled fish with zucchini and rice. We all shared a smoked salmon dip for the appetizer. Everyone's portion size was generous and everything tasted great. After we all ate, we ordered a slice of pumpkin pie (they have daily specials for desserts) and it was big enough for 3 of us at the table to chair. Would recommend this restaurant for any kind of occasion.

The last time he had it was back in the summer of 2021, so during the July 4th weekend we made it a point to come back for the nostalgia. Unfortunately, this visit just didn't live up to our memories. I know inflation has affected many restaurants, but it's disappointing when menu changes take away the dishes that made people keep coming back. We started with the mimosa flight (mango, pineapple, cranberry, and orange). Sadly, they all tasted like plain champagne, and we couldn't really tell the flavors apart. Our son ordered the chicken tenders and waffles. There wasn't anything particularly memorable about it, but he enjoyed his meal, and that's what mattered most. He left happy. I ordered the Hangover Hash--moon-dusted potatoes topped with homemade queso, chicken chorizo, crispy chicken, two cage-free over-medium eggs, and served with a Flying Biscuit and cranberry apple butter. It was just okay. The online photo looked much more appealing. Mine didn't include the black beans, onions, or cilantro, and the potatoes had changed from what I remembered. Instead of seasoned breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions, they were just plain diced potatoes, which made the dish feel bland. The chicken chorizo was also much saltier than expected. The biggest disappointment was that my partner's favorite Chicken Sausage, Egg & Cheese Pasta had been discontinued. He ended up ordering scrambled eggs with salmon and dill cream cheese, served with potatoes, a Flying Biscuit with cranberry apple butter, plus a side of whole wheat French toast and grits. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. It was simply an okay breakfast that filled us up. Overall, the food wasn't terrible--it just lacked the "wow" factor that made us fall in love with this place years ago. The service was friendly, and our server was very nice, but the food no longer feels as special as it once did. If we return to the area, we'll probably try a different breakfast spot instead of coming back here. That said, if you've never been, it's still a decent place to check out. Just don't expect the same experience that longtime fans may remember.

Because it's not a big menu with a ton of choices, but just enough different types of foods to give something for everyone - whether it's seafood or chicken, pasta, or meatloaf - it's just good food with interesting sauces. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and meatball sub, both tasting each other's and loving them. The only complaint is they seem to close after lunch for a few hours before dinner. If they stayed open continuously, they might get more business because I think the food is just too good for them to not constantly be crowded. The decor is clearly not what you're there for and the seats are just uncomfortable enough to discourage a leisurely meal (read: turn the tables over often); kind of a shame because if they stayed open continuously through dinner, had more comfortable seats, and less rundown looking interior they could actually attract a lot of business and stay very busy. Maybe they should try signing up with GrubHub, DoorDash or UberEats. Then you get to experience their terrific food at home. Looking forward to going back.

It was so good that I ended up going back on another day, about a week later. It was relatively quiet for a weekday lunch hour if you want to compare to other places that are open for lunch hour. That meant to me that the chef who is also the owner probably could spend more time to prepare the dishes ordered. I ordered the fried Oysters Po'Boy with fries and an iced tea. Didn't take too long for the meal to come out. I cut the Po'Boy in half and the Oysters were large. The bread was nice and soft, not hard and crunchy like bread can be for a Po'Boy. Fries were nicely done, not too crisp but not soggy and greasy. Had seasoning sprinkled on them, but not overwhelming. Just right. After I finished my sandwich, I was wondering about dessert and just as I was going to ask, my waiter, Chris came up to the table with the choices of dessert. I wanted something light, so I picked the chocolate pie. It was a good sized piece that came with some whipped cream on the side garnished with a strawberry. Nice and creamy and not overly sweet. Hit the spot! I will be back again because it's got a nice cozy homestyle atmosphere. May have to try the weekend brunch.

I was really looking forward to trying the oysters, but I didn't realize their menu changes often so unfortunately, no oysters this time. A little sad about that! We decided to order pretty much everything off the à la carte menu. Overall, the food was just okay to me. The Brussels sprouts were the hardest to eat they were basically raw, just thinly sliced with sauce poured over. It would've been much better if they were at least steamed or grilled a bit. The mushrooms, though, were absolutely BOMB! If I didn't know what it was, I would've thought it was some sort of meat dish super soft, flavorful, and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The Wagyu, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. For the price, it was tough and chewy when it should've been buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Overall, the place is cute and the vibes are nice, but the food was overpriced for what it was. I'd only come back for those mushrooms they were that good.

I placed an order for everything on the carte menu. Food was fun and a few of the dishes caught me off guard, in a good way. Pros. We loveeed the maitake mushrooms. This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol

They did a fantastic job. Service was commendable. A lot of different people drop by the table to make sure everything was going well. They have all you can eat, but since we don't eat that much, we just got the single meat. He chose a thin type of red meat, I think brisket and I chose the spicy chicken. The spicy chicken was honestly one of the best I've ever had! It's good quality meat, and the seasoning was perfect. I do wish they offered more sides, but they said that their focus are the meats. I didn't love their kimchi. I did, however, really like their salad, but my boyfriend was meh on it. All in all, a nice place to visit and I would definitely come back and get the chicken again. I also tried a Soju, lychee, that was really good. Nice and light and even my boyfriend was able to drink it. They have a ton of different selections of meats here for the red meat, lover and salmon and shrimp as well. I think if you like to really eat, that all you can eat would probably be a great option. Again, I thought their service was on point and I would be more than willing to come back.
