12 Feb 2026 We hadn't been by in a while. Today, I ordered the roasted chicken and the husband the NY Strip. Mine comes with mashed potatoes and the husband went with the beefsteak tomatoes. Water and iced tea for drinks. The chicken was fine. The mashed were thinner than what I'm used to. The husband's steak while good, was a little tough. A bit disappointing. The service was terrific. Showed up with refills before we even realized we needed them. We'll give them another try soon.

Today was good. As always I really enjoy the pear martini .. it just refreshing with crystalized ginger. We went away from our norm and had prime rib with french fries. I love the shoestring fries. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service was a little slow but he got all my subs perfect. The manager was super accommodating when I told her I was freezing.

Had a reservation with friends and we didn't like the seats given and the staff was so gracious and understanding in getting us seated together. The atmosphere of the restaurant was moody just the way it should be for dinner, dim lights but not too dim to where you can't read the menu. Let's talk food. I got the ribs, they were all off the bone tender . My husband loved his steak. A way to know if the food is good is total silence while everyone was eating. We will definitely visit again, soon .

The service was phenomenal. Miguel went above and beyond with everything we asked. The food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing. It wasn't overly crowded or too loud. We enjoyed it.

Stopping by J. Alexander's on Father's Day without a reservation and since the restaurant was packed, we had at least a 45-minute wait but luckily, I found some spots at the bar...whew, crisis averted. After looking over the menu I order the special of the day, medium rare with a side back potato and grilled carrots on the side. While waiting I also get an Old Fashioned and it was made just right so kudos to the bar tender. When my order came out, I noticed the steak was overdone and was medium well so I pointed this out to the server, and he agreed that it was overdone and that he would get another order fired up to replace this steak. When the server comes back, he apologies and informs me they have run out of the special of the day and asked if wanted another option. I told him that I would take the steak as it was as I was really hungry. Even though the steak was overdone, it was still very tasty as was the baked potato and carrots. Our server came back and informed me they had decided to comp my meal and once again offered their apologies. I told him I appreciated the comp and thank him and the management staff for making things right. Overall, the meal was good as was the atmosphere and staff. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

They were able to seat us on the patio as a walk in on a Saturday night, checked in to offer us a spot by the fireplace when it opened up, kept our water filled throughout the night, and even asked how we wanted our food served. Little touches like that really make a difference. They also brought out complimentary ciabatta bread when we were first seated and then without us asking, brought a fresh batch after our appetizer. The second round was better, with a nice crispy edge that made that satisfying crunch when you squeezed it. Really good with the butter, though if the butter had been just a little saltier it would have been perfect. Beef Carpaccio ($32): Good but average. The individual components were all there but the dish felt like it was missing cohesion. The black sesame parmesan tuiles were a standout though. Georges Bank Seared Sea Scallop ($49): Three huge scallops cooked phenomenally. The mushroom risotto was a bit al dente and on the saltier side, and the mushroom flavor didn't come through as much as I would have liked. The squid ink beurre blanc was lovely though and really brought the dish together. Despite the risotto I would still order this again just for those scallops. Duck and Foie Gras ($46): The duck was cooked beautifully and the foie gras wasn't too heavy, just the right amount. I loved the strawberry arugula salad that came with it. The pairing worked really well overall. I personally didn't think butternut squash was the right puree choice but my husband disagreed and absolutely loved this dish. Foucher Sancerre Rosé ($15 glass): I am usually not a fan of rosé because of how dry they tend to be, but this one was not bad. It tasted much better when paired with food. August Riesling ($12 glass): A yummy, sweet drink that is refreshing and easy to drink. I had to pace myself or I would have finished it before the main courses even came out.

Duck: 4/5 - we removed the duck liver and everything was so good including the salad & butternut squash. Butter cake: 5/5 - we removed the ice cream here and enjoyed the sauce.

I was torn on bites but ended up going with the Happy Hour sliders and the pork belly appetizer from the regular menu. We started with the beet and dill salmon on crostini, which was such a fun and memorable dish. We ordered all of the entrées--choucroute, hanger steak, and sweet pea risotto--and every single one was delicious. That said, the risotto completely stole the show for me. Creamy and rich without being heavy, it was packed with mushrooms, sweet peas, and delicate pea shoots. The salty, umami depth from the cheese paired beautifully with little bursts of sweetness from the peas--it was honestly exceptional. Outlaw Kitchen is the kind of place where everything works together: the food, the service, and the space. It feels intentional, personal, and special without ever being pretentious. The patio is lovely, but I imagine it can be uncomfortable in the summer heat. Now for the food. Overall it was good. I found some components spectacular, but felt like some lacked seasoning. I was looking forward to the arancini the most. The croquet itself was crunchy and that cheese was definitely telefono style, but needed some seasoning. The pomodoro was tasty, but the basil made it fabulous. Y'all know how I feel about basil. The ravioli was filled with spinach, mushroom, and ricotta with a brown butter sage sauce. It was delicious and the portion was perfect. My favorite part though was the crunchy shitaki "bacon"and butternut squash. I would take a bowl of that in a heartbeat and would absolutely go back for a butternut squash main dish. It was perfectly roasted and full of flavor and those shitaki were amazing. The preserved lemon vinaigrette over lettuces was phenomenal. Incredible fresh flavor. Desert was chocolate torte and sour cream ice cream. The ice cream was the absolute star of the show. The sweet vanilla was incredible. I sampled the halibut and shrimp and it was perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back to try other offerings.

We walked in about 15 minutes before our actual reservation so we hung out at the bar and had a drink. Before we were done with our drinks, the hostess came over to us to let us know our table was ready. I did not know that this was an open kitchen concept but I was thrilled when I seen it. We were seated by the kitchen. I thought it was bd a bit noisy but the kitchen staff was quiet which allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation. The waitress was very nice and observant. She did not interrupt our conversations, she waited until we sat plates aside as we were done to avoid reaching over us, and she even took pictures for us. She also offered us glasses of prosecco to celebrate with. We ordered the roasted carrots and pork belly for appetizers and the short beef ribs and steak for entrees. The food was so good! One guest was served butter and a pho amuse bouche at the same time so she took a good spoonful of her butter, dipped it into her pho, and ate it because nobody told her what she had just been served. I can't imagine what she was thinking. Started with some fresh bread and a generous medallion of a butter and onion ash roll. Nice touch. The pho came to me cold but I found out it was intended to be hot. I guess if it's not served immediately it gets cold really fast because it's just a sip or two. It was very clean and OK flavor but I prefer the deep, umami richness of a fatty pho broth. Continuing with the amuse bouche, I was served a platter of three pieces--a scotch egg, cornbread truffle and fries, and something unmemorable. The scotch egg and cornbread were OK but at this point I was starting to wonder if I was wasting my time and money. Then I tried the tuna and that was a flavor bomb. Cubed tuna over a creamy coconut sauce with a hint of heat, balanced with fresh citrus and purple potato crisps for some added texture and a tasty salt finish. This was visually stunning and just singing in my mouth. I absolutely loved it! Scallop and caviar topped with smoked king salmon, and crispy leeks. This was rich and decadent and I appreciated the crispy leeks to balance the otherwise soft textures. Wished the lime was a little more pronounced to help brighten and lift some of the richness, but still a very good dish. Charred romanesco broccoli with a romesco sauce and green salsa was served with pickled raisins and a heaping serving of shredded manchego cheese. This was good but not something I'd want to reorder. Raspberry bergamot lemon sorbet was just the refreshing bite needed before the heavy hitters. The Texas Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection. It was simple, served with mushrooms, and didn't need a lot of fuss. For desert, I was served a persimmon chocolate mousse with orange, a rolled persimmon slice, and dollops of what tasted like yuzu. As full as I was I was able to finish this all. It was creamy, rich, and balanced with citrus notes. And finally, the service ended with a mixed plate of petit fours which held up well the next day and were all very good -- a brownie, dulce de leche, macaron, chocolate chip cookie, and some sort of citrus gel. In all, I think the tasting menu was worth the price. I think chef did a great job balancing flavors and textures, plating beautifully, and staying true to ingredients while having fun experimenting. If my pho wasn't served cold, I didn't see some poor service, and the extra amuse bouche trio wasn't served I probably would've given this 5 stars. Maybe next time.

But at my age anytime you are over ground is the best occasion. I have heard it is real fancy. And it is. Do not come in Crocs and sweatpants. This is not that restaurant. It is that restaurant where you should make reservations. It is also a place that emphasizes presentation and service. We came right when it opened and we informed the hostess of our reservations. We were seated in the bar area. Once inside I was struck by its ambience. It is sleek, dark and dare say "sexy." Our server, who was extremely attentive came to our table and took our drink orders. My partner ordered an Old Fashioned and me, a Lagunitas IPA. Whilst waiting for our drinks I looked over the room. One thing I noticed was a barrier that separated the bar area and the dining room. The Social Hour is meant, to socialize. I saw couples leaning into each other. Another group were drinking martinis with a seafood tower, almost touching the ceiling. Conversations were had. Romantic glances were exchanged. It isn't a casual place like Bubba's 33 nor Texas Roadhouse. It feels like a place best suited for a date night or an anniversary. I'm wondering how the dining room area is? The Social Hour does offer some drink and small bites specials. We ordered the kabob with pineapple, brussel sprouts, and sliders. They were all pretty great. It reminded me of the same experience as in partaking in tapas. I would remiss if I didn't relay our service here, it was excellent. Our server, Holiday(I hope I spelled it right.) treated us like we were the only patrons there. I've gone to upscale restaurants where staff looks at you up and down. Or they try to size you up. This is not that place. Which was so refreshing. If this place went above and beyond my expectations why didn't I give it four stars? In my opinion I think that a place that creates an upscale experience needs to have a few beers on tap. Even places like Wing Daddy's or Chili's offers a few beers on tap. Secondly, the bar area seating feels a bit tight. I wonder when the dinner crowd arrives would you be in the lap, of someone else's conversation? I still highly recommend this place. The Social Hour area is perfect for a date or an anniversary. The service and food were both excellent. And I've never been to a place where you are given warm hand towels. It reminded me of that scene with Adam Sandler in "The Wedding Singer" minus Billy Idol.
