Our mid-week tradition often leads us back to this wonderful spot, particularly on Wednesdays, and for very good reasons. Their happy hour menu is a consistent highlight, offering a fantastic array of delicious bites and refreshing beverages that truly make unwinding a pleasure. It's also a surprisingly great family destination; my kids absolutely adore their cheeseburger - it's clear they prioritize quality, as it's always a flavorful and satisfying choice for them. Beyond the food, the drink selection here is truly exceptional. Whether you're in the mood for something expertly mixed or a perfectly poured classic, their offerings consistently impress. Adding to the excellent atmosphere is the bar staff; they are remarkably attentive, ensuring prompt service and a genuinely welcoming experience every single time we visit.

Today was good. As always I really enjoy the pear martini .. it just refreshing with crystalized ginger. We went away from our norm and had prime rib with french fries. I love the shoestring fries. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service was a little slow but he got all my subs perfect. The manager was super accommodating when I told her I was freezing.

Had a reservation with friends and we didn't like the seats given and the staff was so gracious and understanding in getting us seated together. The atmosphere of the restaurant was moody just the way it should be for dinner, dim lights but not too dim to where you can't read the menu. Let's talk food. I got the ribs, they were all off the bone tender . My husband loved his steak. A way to know if the food is good is total silence while everyone was eating. We will definitely visit again, soon .

The service was phenomenal. Miguel went above and beyond with everything we asked. The food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing. It wasn't overly crowded or too loud. We enjoyed it.

Good service. Lacked basic table salt. I could taste the steak but it wasn't adequately seasoned. Steak Tacos same deal, no salt at all.

    Is it kid friendly?

I have seen kids in the restaurant, but it is certainly an upscale place and I have never noticed a kids menu. I think any place in the world is acceptable for kids if they are well-behaved. But this is not a place that has a McDonald's playground…

    Do they have outdoor seating?

Yes we have 4 outside tables. First come, first serve though

What is the attire for this restaurant? Thank you.

Casual to dressy. Your choice. We regularly go in jeans. No problem.

They were able to seat us on the patio as a walk in on a Saturday night, checked in to offer us a spot by the fireplace when it opened up, kept our water filled throughout the night, and even asked how we wanted our food served. Little touches like that really make a difference. They also brought out complimentary ciabatta bread when we were first seated and then without us asking, brought a fresh batch after our appetizer. The second round was better, with a nice crispy edge that made that satisfying crunch when you squeezed it. Really good with the butter, though if the butter had been just a little saltier it would have been perfect. Beef Carpaccio ($32): Good but average. The individual components were all there but the dish felt like it was missing cohesion. The black sesame parmesan tuiles were a standout though. Georges Bank Seared Sea Scallop ($49): Three huge scallops cooked phenomenally. The mushroom risotto was a bit al dente and on the saltier side, and the mushroom flavor didn't come through as much as I would have liked. The squid ink beurre blanc was lovely though and really brought the dish together. Despite the risotto I would still order this again just for those scallops. Duck and Foie Gras ($46): The duck was cooked beautifully and the foie gras wasn't too heavy, just the right amount. I loved the strawberry arugula salad that came with it. The pairing worked really well overall. I personally didn't think butternut squash was the right puree choice but my husband disagreed and absolutely loved this dish. Foucher Sancerre Rosé ($15 glass): I am usually not a fan of rosé because of how dry they tend to be, but this one was not bad. It tasted much better when paired with food. August Riesling ($12 glass): A yummy, sweet drink that is refreshing and easy to drink. I had to pace myself or I would have finished it before the main courses even came out.

The waiter greeted us and gave us the option to order from their regular menu or the menu made specifically for Restaurant Week. We went with the edited menu and had an assortment of starters with the tostadas and the wedge salad being the top picks. Our main entrees consisted of the shrimp and grits which was amazingly delicious! The meatballs on the risotto were equally as good. For the desserts, I will say I thoroughly enjoyed my mix berries on the butter cake. Really delicious. Service was great. There was a bit of a long gap in between our starters and the entrees but they made it up with their overall friendly service. PSA for those with hearing challenges, the noise level is quite loud in the restaurant. I will say that I'd like to go back and try their other dishes.

Typically when you sit down at the yard house bar, the bartenders usually clean off the bar with a wet towel and remove the sticky beer/food from the previous patrons and then put down the place settings and black napkin settings. None of that happened. They also always card everyone in the party, I didn't see them card anyone in the bar this night. While there were plenty of staff (in different color shirts - white, black and grey) behind the bar not one person said hello, welcomed anyone on our side of the bar or made eye contact. They were more focused on cleaning the glasses than taking our order. It was just odd. Getting past that, I enjoyed the local cider selection (kiwi strawberry) and my husband enjoyed the Belgium golden ale house beer). Food was great as well we enjoyed the boneless wings Korean style, Miguel's queso and ahi sashimi. Delicious. I also enjoyed the music videos playing on one of the tvs that was so fun. Bathrooms were clean but both needed work. In the women's, I noticed the vacant/occupied switches were not in working order as some of the signs said occupied but they were not; and the ones that said vacant were occupied. My husband noticed that there was no soap or towels in the men's bathroom. It's the little things. Even if you are crowded you should be staffed well enough to take care of these things.

Everything was well timed, except when we were trying to get the check. All the staff seemed to be kind and professional. The patio is lovely, but I imagine it can be uncomfortable in the summer heat. Now for the food. Overall it was good. I found some components spectacular, but felt like some lacked seasoning. I was looking forward to the arancini the most. The croquet itself was crunchy and that cheese was definitely telefono style, but needed some seasoning. The pomodoro was tasty, but the basil made it fabulous. Y'all know how I feel about basil. The ravioli was filled with spinach, mushroom, and ricotta with a brown butter sage sauce. It was delicious and the portion was perfect. My favorite part though was the crunchy shitaki "bacon"and butternut squash. I would take a bowl of that in a heartbeat and would absolutely go back for a butternut squash main dish. It was perfectly roasted and full of flavor and those shitaki were amazing. The preserved lemon vinaigrette over lettuces was phenomenal. Incredible fresh flavor. Desert was chocolate torte and sour cream ice cream. The ice cream was the absolute star of the show. The sweet vanilla was incredible. I sampled the halibut and shrimp and it was perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back to try other offerings.

When we asked for recommendations or some of his favorite menu items, his response was essentially, "I don't know what you like," rather than offering any guidance. The service somehow felt rushed even though the food itself came out slowly, and there were very few check-ins during the meal. When it came time for dessert, we asked to see a dessert menu and were simply told, "It's on the menu you have," which summed up the lack of hospitality we experienced at the table. I ordered the Mustang Chicken, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. The chicken was fatty, full of tendon, and tasted more like a frozen piece of chicken that had been dropped into a deep fryer than something I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. It's disappointing because the restaurant has a great atmosphere and our experience at the bar started off so well. Unfortunately, between the table service and the quality of the food, I would not recommend Cappy's based on this visit.
