Pretty good food and service. I came on a Friday night for my sister's birthday dinner. We were seated in a private room and there were multiple waiters there to assist us. I ordered the Chicken Madeira after the waiter suggested it over a couple of different options I was considering. It was so good!! The chicken breast was flavorful, especially with the mushrooms and Madeira sauce. The mashed potatoes were pretty good and asparagus were decent. My cousin ordered the bam bam shrimp appetizer that I got to taste some of and it was really tasty! The waiters were helpful and even cut the cake for us. We Loved "J Marks!" Three of us went on a Wed. evening, and we saw that "Happy Hour" was Still going on, (Wednesdays-2P-6P), with Various "J Marks" drinks for 1/2 price!! Needless to say we were "Happy!" The Food was Delicious! 2 of us got Salmon, (Yummy!), and one got Steak, All Cooked to Perfection! The Only drawback, which was Rectified Quickly, was that by the time we got our meals, the garlic mashed potatoes were Cool!! Meals are Very Affordable!! The Best thing was that our waitress, Lori, (or Laurie), was Awesome, and Very Sweet, and Not Surprisingly, a Retired RN!! I have been to J Mark's a few times over the years, and I am always happy with the food quality, taste, and service. A group of friends and I went last night (Monday) to celebrate my belated birthday. Everybody enjoyed their meal. We also were able to get a very good deal, using a coupon I found in the paper, which had several dishes including fish and steak for only $13.99. I would have given it 5 stars if the server was more responsive. While he was very polite, we had to wait a while to get his attention a few times that night. He would pass our table and not even look. Maybe they were short staffed? One of my friends mentioned that it was my birthday, and the server brought a huge complementary red velvet cake slice with a candle. This was a nice end to our meal. I would definitely come here again, and I always recommend this restaurant to friends in the Pompano area. read more

We heard about this restaurant from a friend. We came to try the steak on a Saturday evening, the place was not that busy. We tried the pear salad which was delicious. The crab cake appetizer was also pretty tasty. The steak, we asked them to make it medium, and it was excellent. My only complain is the side. We had a coleslaw did not taste that good and the yam which did not have much flavor. Next time i will order something else.. Service was attentive and great. HOWEVER, I've noticed that they shrunk the size of the side dish that carries the included vegetable with the entree, to about half the size......... Poor judgment!.......... To save 25 cents they've made themselves look cheap.......... Or are they deliberately trying to leave you hungry so that you'll order more?........ Which we did......... The dinner tonight was amazing. We had a party of five and ordered prime rib, pork chop, salmon and surf and turf. The service was over the top as well. Happy hours are great! Girls are not that accommodating at the front desk when you walk in the one on Copans Road. They give us a hard time every time I go there with people as far as making us wait for a seat, when there's no reason for that, especially when there's plenty of seating. Saturday night 10.28.2023 6pm (ish) 3 adults for dinner service. We were seated on a half booth up to the left near the bar. Server Mr Stephen (British accent maybe?) he was great. The service total was 1.5 hours for 3 course meal. Good pace to enjoy each dish and slight anticipation for the next. Out of 15 items ordered, the clam chowder soup was not as expected. Manager actually stopped by the table twice and whisked away the offensive soup. That was nice- because few questions asked. I've been here before- this manager is great. Jack is the best! Well, everyone there is amazing. Starting from Dani, the manager. I guess she is the one who set the ambiance among the staff. My friend and me, we love to go for lunch when we met. She lives in Deerfield Beach, and I drive from Miami. We always come for the service and always ask for Jack, one time we were there it was his day off, so now we know his schedule. We always go when he is there. Jack is attentive, always smiling and overall, it is so hard to find good servers nowadays. So, we always come here for him. Thanks Jack! read more

J Marks is a great all around winner for me. The staff is incredible - so personable and attentive. The food is always the best quality. The menu offers something for everyone, so I really like taking my family there so everyone can find something they like. Tried this place out for date night with my fiancé. We made a reservation for a Friday night and were promptly seated. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered the crab cake as our appetizer which was DELICIOUS. It was my first time ever trying crab cake & I didn't think I would like it but now I'm a fan. As my entree I ordered the shrimp scampi which was exceptional and filling. To drink I had the watermelon martini which I loved. They include a yummy slice of watermelon to garnish the drink. Loved the atmosphere in this restaurant. The lights are kept low. They have multiply seating options including tables for only two. I was introduced to what I have to say is the best experience when it comes to customer service. We had a waiter, a gentleman that goes by Trevor, the best, hands-down. Outstanding personality, always came to check if anything was needed before I can even start to think of anything, the type of person that I brighten up your day. I personally think that every establishment needs one of him. His performance was above and beyond. The food? Just as good actually, I took a suggestion from him. I believe it was the Hawaiian ribeye steak, best I've tasted thus far and no, I'm not joking. Again, this is my personal experience. This place is a major goal for me. The Pompano JMarks is fabulous! We used to go to the Fort Lauderdale one- but after multiple horrible experiences with the front desk- we gave up. However, we love JMarks, so decided to check out the Pompano JMarks. Rebecca is the most amazing host/manager/jack of all trades. She is constantly on the move and will clear tables herself if that means getting a guest a seat faster. Warm, Friendly, Efficient, it's evident that she loves her job and not there just for a paycheck- she's simply the best! Also, Frances the server in the lounge has taken care of us a few times- also amazing! The food is always good, drinks are strong (thanks Brandy! (sp?)). We ate there on 9/2/22 at 6:30 and we Both ordered the bolognese which is usually very good but tonight it was served cold and they took it back and waiter said they were making a new batch but when it came out the past was burnt it wasn't a new batch As They were making the so called new batch I bit into the bread and a 12 inch piece of plastic was still on the bread and cooked with it The manager did acknowledge it and gave us a credit to come back We did order an appetizer and they charged us for it 16$ If I was a manger I would have just comped the whole bill And lesson learned Not good business if you want customers to come back Not sure I will ever go back there read more

This has become my go to restaurant. Consistently good. And a menu with variety. Prices are fair, and they have a mid day menu, limited items, which are lower for my budget mind. Great happy hour 4-6pm. Servers are always attentive. My wife had her usual, salmon, the other night and it was a little over done. The server apologized, said he'll get another. We were there yesterday for a late dinner. Our experience was amazing. My husband and his brother had sliders and a burger. They both said their food was exceptional. I had pasta with zucchini noodles and carbonara sauce, it was phenomenal. Large portion so I took some of it home. My drink was lemonade which tasted like homemade lemonade, my absolute favorite. Not sickly sweet at all. Our waitress was wonderful, very bubbly and friendly. I'm sorry I forgot her name, she did a great job. Update*** heard back from manager about an email with a voucher to come back, when contacted, no answer back. Tried to visit again still a fly fest and terrible service. We left after waters. Won't be back. We arrive for lunch super starving, I ordered a spicy take on a margarita and my husband had the billionaires margarita. Both were refreshing and had a nice kick to them! I was surprised to get a nice buzz. My husband and I shared the owners choice 20 oz steak with steamed broccoli and caramelized onions. While we waited our waiter brought out bread and butter, which were very tasty, the butter especially. There were a bunch of bugs getting into our drinks when finally our food arrived, but the steak sadly was barely warm and I was expecting something nice and hot. The portion of broccoli was very small to even be considered as a side. It was very disappointing considering the price, not to mention they forgot our onions and the broccoli barely had any butter. Nonetheless the taste was very good. We will be back to try again, next time we'll sit inside as they have a very bad bug problem and a weird smell outside. If I could give 10 stars I would. From the moment we walked in, to when we walked out, the manager and staff did everything to make sure our dining experience was unforgettable. The food was amazing, and the service was even better. The manager Danny was amazing to say the least, she made sure our food and experience was like no other. She was so friendly and made us feel like we were her family. Chris and Daniele, our servers, were professional and amazing as well. We did not need to ask for anything, they were always one step ahead of us. We own a restaurant in michigan and we really appreciate the service the manager and service gave us. Post cruise my family and I were looking for a full diverse menu and great service close to our oceanfront stay. After a short drive this gem is where we landed and were treated to an amazing evening with Trevor. During our entire dinner, Trevor remained attentive, consistently displayed impeccable attention to detail, and had the perfect timing to check in for all of our party of seven's needs. As we ordered Trevor took special care to provide recommendations as well as background on many of the dishes in a way that created the dishes vividly in our minds as well as provided ample opportunity for us to select our meals. All of our meals came out perfectly without any issues or delay. (Note: Trevor did ask if we would like for the meal for my five year old first and took special care in serving him as well which is most appreciated and seen!) Multiple persons in my party dined on the highly recommended crab cake as add ons to hearty meals of the Hawaiian rib eye, sirloins and pork chops and more. Told us about happy hour drink specials and rushed to get the order in before happy hour ended. One minute to spare. Totally on the spot. Never had to look around for anything we wanted. Bryce made sure we had everything without having to "flag him down." Refill water glasses. Check. Ask if addition wine desired. Check. Box for leftovers suggested. Check. Friendly and knowledgeable. This is probably my favorite restaurant and has been for some time. I've been dining area J Marks since they first opened then I was so excited when they expanded to Fort Lauderdale, as well. I love love love the Pompano location. We had an awesome Sunday family brunch and Tim (the manager) made our visit even more fantastic by checking on us and even sharing a quick story that fascinated me. Seriously, chat with him and I think you'll find him riveting. The biggest reason im writing this review now is how amazed I was by Tim's help and the entire crew.
