The Bahn Mi sandwich was absolutely fantastic, and I am very disappointed to see it is no longer on the menu (thus why only 4 stars). This was a very interesting burger place I would have to say I was very satisfied because they had unique selection of burgers here. You can also build your own burger. A lot of restaurants are not willing to work with us, since we come in a group of about 30, and need to eat quickly. They not only accommodated our group and our tight schedule, but they were especially friendly and gave us exceptional services. The owners even scheduled extra workers! The food came out quickly, and was delicious! We went there before one match, and the team had such a great experience, they all wanted to return the next week. Came here after hiking Mount Diablo so I was quite dusty and bedraggled. The restaurant and strip mall its located in seemed mostly empty on a Sunday late afternoon. There is a nice outdoor patio area with umbrellas for some respite from blazing sun. You order at the counter and they give you a number to take to a table of your choosing. Make your own salad is at the right portion of the counter. I had the portobello sandwich. Sides are extra; I didn't opt for any. My sandwich was really tasty and also very filling. The mushrooms were grilled well and the onions were also cooked nicely. I really like sprouts and there was not too much sauce. Bread was not tough nor was it soggy. All in all, a solid sandwich. We come here a few rimes a year. Great prep as you order shop. I had the Chinese salad but had kidney beans instead of chicken. It was a very large salad with great flavors and crunch, however the romaine lettuce was mostly white. That is the reason for 4 stars. I also split a few urban fries with the table. Sweet potato sandwich with zucchini, roasted red peppers, spinach and onions on a wheat bun was excellent. It comes with a jalapeño spread but I substituted for a side of pesto spread which was perfect. Not sure if it's on the recent menu but they'll make it for you no problem. My wife got the achiote salad, but substituted the chicken for salmon which was a slight upcharge as expected. We both loved our dishes and feel good afterwards. This is definitely a top option for fast fresh that has a range of good options from indulgent to sensible. The employees were great and helpful as well. We'll be back, a bunch. read more

I really love this place! This place has become my new go to spot for lunch, almost every week (: my goal is to try as many things on the menu as I can since I'm here so often. There salad's are aaaamazing! As basic as some salads are, they are very tasty. My favorite thing to actually get here is their tri tip, chicken strips w/ fries, and their macaroni and cheese. Their tri tip isn't dry or bland, it has such a good taste to it, not boring at all (make sure to get a sauce you like). Lemme tell you about their macaroni!! I can't even explain how different and delicious the macaroni is. It's not your typical noodle macaroni, it's bigger and fluffier. It's not excessively cheesy at all. Although I LOVE cheese! But I guess I love their macaroni because it's different and it was actually a nice spin on macaroni and cheese. The workers here are also really helpful and friendly. They definitely had to guide me when I first went there. The ordering area is a bit overwhelming at first but making your own salad and order becomes quite fun. Dine-in area is very urban/modern. Great place to get a quick bite to eat and hang around. They do serve beer too. Overall a great place to try something new! The food is consistently great and always fresh. Love the Urban fries and Buffalo sandwich. Great Mac and cheese and cheese bread. I only have two requests - One - the gluten free bread price is reduced because its smaller than the bread you typically use on your sandwiches so we aren't getting as much filling inside yet we're paying more. Two - please lower the music inside. It is so hard to carry on a conversation with the loud music and its distracting. Otherwise the food is so super delicious. Thanks to Yelp we found this as we were leaving the soccer field nearby with a hungry teenager. It's so great to get sandwiches and salads with the meat cut right from the bone before your eyes. I really wanted to enjoy this place. It's very close by home, and offered up a similar dining style to Urban Plates, Tender Greens, and so forth. Unfortunately both experiences I've had here were lackluster. The first time I came, I tried the Banh Mi sandwich and ordered the Urban Fries. I guess with a name like Banh Mi, I was expecting some very tasty meat. The meat wasn't that good, no special marinades or anything. The only thing "Banh mi" about it was the pickled vegetables. The Urban Fries were very unappealing. It was almost like a bleu cheese sauce atop it with some chili oil. The flavors didn't meld well at all, and I wouldn't waste the money on those again. I gave it a second try, and ordered the tri-tip entree plate with the mac and cheese and the roasted veggie sides. The meat was just okay, and the veggies were also just okay. The mac and cheese was gooey so I'll give that one a lot of credit. Since it's so close to home and easy to get to, I'll give it another try, but I'm not running over here any time soon. read more

As you enter the restaurant the decor is lively and inviting but the ordering process is kind of confusing. Do you go to the register or prep area first? No one was readily available to assist me and there were only three other patrons sitting inside. So I walked over to the register as it was closest to the entrance. A friendly young gentleman asks if I already placed my order. I said not yet. He then directs me to the prep area and shows me where the menus are. I tell him my order and he gives me two slips of paper. Ok, what do I do now? He tells me to bring the slips to the cashier. As I get to the cashier, this older lady is busy with something else. I greet her hello and nothing. She tells me to hold on without ever looking up. She rings up my order with no facial expression or smile. So awkward. I sit down and wait for my order to be called. Luckily it was done in about 10 minutes. Same lady gives me my food and no thank you or smile. It's not like they were slammed with customers. No one was in line when I got there nor did anyone come in after me. Wow. She should stay back in the kitchen because her customer service skills are horrible. On a positive note the sandwiches were good but a little more seasoning is needed to wake them up. They give you thick slices of tri tip! read more

This one kinda sucks to write because we've generally enjoyed Jack's up until this last visit a few weeks ago, but the experience was so jarringly bad that I almost feel I need to write it as a warning to others. My spouse and I live in Northgate and would often go to Jack's together for lunch. We've been going weekly throughout the pandemic and have had a fairly good experience. This last time was a doozy though. It was an obviously busier day than what they had been used to. We go in and begin to order our usual with a new cashier (older nice lady); family size urban fries & a grilled cheese sandwich add bacon. The cashier expressed that she didn't know how to add bacon to the grill cheese and asked for help from one of the younger girls that has been there a while. The younger girl barked at her for even asking for help. Being rude to older people is already a big no no in my book. She then began to tell her that they WONT add bacon to a grilled cheese sandwich. They she can add it on the side and the customer can add it to the sandwich. I guess I would've had to peel the sandwich open and add my bacon? Idk. But the girl barked it so aggravatedly that both the older cashier and myself had to ask her to repeat it twice. The younger cashier then said to me "we're too busy to add bacon"....and that was all she wrote. We left and haven't gone back. It sucks because we ordered this all throughout the pandemic. We stuck in there all throughout the pandemic. And on this one busy day as people are starting to come back out and enjoy the world, it felt like we were told to kick rocks because Jacks is too busy. read more

This is casual eats: salads, sandwiches and really bomb sides! Their mac n cheese, cheese bread, and various forms of mashed potatoes are seriously to-die for (like cheesy bacon kind or pesto). If you are a first time guest- you MUST order urban fries. Dont ask- just do it. life changing. As far as entrees- I always get the buffalo chicken salad. Its bombbb with apples, blue cheese crumbles, and fried chicken up top drenched in buffalo sauce. Steak sandwich is yummy too! Woohoo! I can't believe there is a Jack's Urban Eats in Walnut Creek! I am from Sacramento and we have about 3-4 Jack's near my home. I am so glad there's one in Walnut Creek. My friends and I were there for dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed and crowded, but luckily there was no line. We ordered and a booth had just cleared up. My friend Cori ordered a built her own salad. My friend Emily had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and I had my favorite, the BBQ Tri-Tip Sandwich. And I ordered Urban Fries to share with them. It was Emily's first time there and she loved it! I have been to Jack's in Sacramento plenty of times. But the costumer service at the Walnut Creek one was great. As we were getting to pay, we looked over and saw the sides. Cori made a comment about one of the sides and the worker serving the sides offered her a sample. I made a comment about how big the asparagus was. So he gave me a sample of that as well! Super nice! I can't wait to go back there again. I love Jack's! read more
