Jade Palace Chinese was good. I ordered General Tso's Chicken and Beef Lo Mein. Everyone loved the General Tso's but werent real big fans of the Lo Mein. The portions are huge! The only complaint I would have is that it took them almost 45 minutes to deliver my food...but I cant really complain cuz I ordered on a Friday night. I've ordered delivery from Jade Palace twice, and both times I thought the food was pretty OK. The good: The food is very fresh tasting, the portions are freaking huge (seriously, two people could easily share one dish) and everything is CHEAP. As an added bonus, they use white meat chicken, so you won't be finding any gristly mystery bits in your Kung Pao. This is a big deal for me, because one bite of nasty unknown meat completely wrecks my appetite and usually I won't be able to eat whatever is left of my meal. The not so good: Both times I ordered, I found the food to be a little bland, as if the sauces they used on the dishes were watered down. This didn't make the dishes inedible by any means, but it was a guessing game of sorts as to what the sauce on my chicken was really supposed to taste like -- Well, this orange chicken kinda tastes like it might possibly have some sort of citrus in it, I guess...maybe... wait, is that orange I'm tasting? yes!... wait... no.... wait, yes!... er, well.. maybe... For the price though, I can doctor up the sauces and have a nice meal (or two. Did I mention the portions are huge?) Wanted some chinese food, hadn't been here before and figured with 4 star average over almost 20 reviews....gotta be ok, right? Exactly. Had the Kung Pao Chicken along with fried rice and an egg roll as well as a side of "cheese boat". Most places call these "rangoon", or even add some crab to them. Anyways. As Natalie S. noted, it was a bit bland. When you order Kung Pao anything, it should at least have a small kick. Nothing. So either they got the sauce incorrect or there just wasn't enough spice added. The fried rice, ok. Nothing special there. The "cheese boats"? Small, little cream cheese filled things. Interesting concept, but would be better adding some crab to it. The egg roll? Good thing it came with duck sauce, because there wasn't much to the egg roll...in fact, I'd say it was a spring roll. Service was quick as this was a phone in order. Parking can get tight in the stripmall parking lot, but more spaces are just a couple hundred feet away. I want to give a 3.5. It's decent fast chinese food. Egg drop soup is very good. The meals are average. I've had better. The price is cheap though. So that's a big plus. Service is okay. It really depends- it can range from good service to rude sometimes. It's not a place I crave to go to whenever I'm back at home. read more

I was hungry and looking for a place that delivered. This place had pretty good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the Mongolian beef with broccoli instead of rice, an egg roll and wonton soup. The egg roll was ok, nothing special just your typical egg roll. The wonton soup was fine too; just your typical soup. Both were good. I would order both again. The Mongolian beef said it came mixed with green and yellow onions. That was an understatement. There were more onions than beef. For every bite of beef, I ate at least 5 onions. I like onions but this was just too much. I definitely would not order it again. read more

I actually discovered this place while driving for a third party delivery company. The food smelled so good and the reviews on here were good so I had to try it. The lady at first sounded rude on the phone, however when I got there she was very nice. I got the sweet and sour chicken and listen to the other reviews when they say the portions are HUGE!!! They were so huge I had to split into two meals and eat the second meal at work the next day. Food was delicious either way. I also had wonton soup which was good but I try their egg drop soup next time. I am only taking one star off because the place does not look polished inside. I waited over 2 hours to get my food. Called them and asked on the status but was told it be there in 10 min. In the end, I waited another 30 min for it to arrive. The food was cold and unsatisfactory. I understand if they are busy but to be this late and serving cold food is unacceptable. I used to order from here all the time but this will be my last. I've been going to this place for 10+ years, ever since the good ol' China Sun shut down. I love their food. In my opinion, it's the best Chinese in the general area. I'm always a bit wary of hole in the wall Chinese restaurants, they don't tend to look like the cleanest places.. but with Chinese restaurants being so hit and miss, you just kind of have to hope for the best when you find one you like. This is one of those places, and my fears were finally realized. A few months ago I ordered my last dish. There was a roach in my fried rice. I didn't take it back, I didn't call to complain.. I'm just done. There's no free meal, no refund, no apology that's going to get me to come back. If there's one, there are more, and I'm not prepared to risk it again. My buddies and I would come here ofter for lunch when we went to Plano East for their huge lunch specials, free soup and those crunchy noodles that go perfectly with it. And I never brought back an upset stomach for AP US Gov. As a high school student, I couldn't have asked for much more. Besides the lunch specials I really haven't had anything else on the menu. It's actually 3.5 stars. Jade Palace has the interior decor of an Italian restaurant. The wait staff was incredibly friendly. The menu prices were great. There's a dinner special that gives just the right amount of food and includes soup and eggroll! I had both the pepper steak and the general tso's chicken. The general tso's chicken was perfectly crispy. The sauce was slightly sweeter than I like but was still good. The dish came with carrots and water chestnuts, and the sauce was more of a red color than I remember. The pepper steak was good. This is a good place to go if you just want cheap, Americanized Chinese food. It's not a fancy place so don't take your date here if you're trying to impress. I'm giving this place 5 stars because it's great for what it is- very good, very Americanized Chinese. We ate here yesterday, and found it all to be a tasty treat. My husband had General Tso chicken, and while it was different than what he expected (everyplace has a different take on this dish, really) it had a flavor that grew on him and halfway through his meal he was in love with it. (I thought it was great, too!) The quality of the meat is almost unseen in this kind of cheap Chinese place, they actually use good cuts! I had Hunan Beef- again, really good cuts of meat. Spicy means spicy. The vegetables were nicely cooked, fresh tasting and not overcooked. Everything was very flavorful and satisfying, to where I did not mind the overuse of starch. We Have been ordering from jade palace for over 6 years. I'm not sure what has happened in the last year? The quality of the food has dropped, the customer service has dropped? I saw all the negative reviews for jade palace today for the first time, so I guess I'm not the only one who is going to be looking a new Chinese delivery in Plano. Placed an order today when it arrived it was cold and soggy... Sometimes that happens with fried items I usually warm it back up in the oven... But the delivery guy ( omg! ) literally asked me 3 times for a tip? When he asked the first time I was still counting my change and deciding how much to tip to give then he's like what no tip for me? I said "what?" I have never been asked for a tip lol so he says "because I came all the way over here" At this point I'm irritated I just look at the guy... so he asks again by putting his hand out? Not sure why I didn't just shut the door? But now he's pissed curses at me in another language and gives me some creative hand gestures... I'm kinda shocked and figured I would call jade palace and tell them what happened. I call the lady answers I ask to speak to the manager or owner she says there not there and hangs up in my face! I call back maybe we just got disconnected? And now they won't answer. ( I know they have caller ID because they verify my address when I call in.) So after reading all the reviews about how great this place was, I was excited to place an order AND they deliver!! Well, they ran my card and everything and then asked for my address and then tell me they can't deliver because I live more than 5 miles away. They said they would credit it back but I decided to just go and pick it up. When I get there, the woman tells me its not that they won't deliver, they just didn't know how to get to my apartment, which is not difficult, I live on 14th street. I was slightly annoyed by this, but it still gets 3 stars for good food. I like this place a lot.....but I have never been there. I have tried quite a few local Chinese delivery places and this is by far my favorite. They are always willing to accommodate me. They don't have egg foo young (i get the pork egg foo young) on their menu but when I first asked them about it they said no problem, we will make it and now I order it every time we want Chinese. Dang is that Egg Foo Young good!! Perfect egg pancakes, great gravy and they put the pork on top instead of in the cakes, man do they pile it on. Some of my other favorites are the cashew chicken, crispy sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, and the chicken chow mein (not to be confused with the noodle version chicken lo mein). Ok, I'll start off with the pros. The food is not half bad, and the portions are huge. However, I strongly recommend you go and pick it up yourself. I have ordered from here 3 times now and I refuse to have it delivered again. EVERY TIME I order from them they forget part of my order which is VERY frustrating!! And I gotta tell ya, there is nothing I hate more than having someone take my order that can't speak clear English. And they do not!! So God knows if they ever read my order back correctly because I can't understand a word coming out of their mouths. My family and I have been going here for at least 8 years or so but probably longer. We have sense moved out of the area but will still drive into Plano to go to this restaurant!! It is a great price and everything we have had has been amazing. Not your usual greasy hole in the wall type of food. I love that with your meals you get a choice of egg drop soup or hot and sour. I usually get hot and sour and it is perfect with the little crunch stuff that comes with it. The egg rolls are crisp and fresh tasting and comes with your meal. My favorite is shrimp fried rice. It is such a large portion that it has fed me for days after. The is a place not to miss if looking for great Chinese for at a discount!!!! read more

This is a great little hole-in-the-wall chinese restaurant. What makes it so great is the amount of food you get for the price. I went here for lunch and ate until I was completely full, and I still had another meal's worth of food to take home! All of that for less than $5.50. I got the hot and sour soup which was excellent. My entree was their sesame chicken, which was perfectly crispy and tasted wonderful. Their eggroll and fried rice was great as well. The staff is unbelievably friendly, and the lunch special can't be beat. ~$5 for starter soup [hot n sour or egg drop] and a heaping plate of rice [white or fried] and the special of the day [sesame chicken on Thursdays is pretty great, my favorite is the Moo Goo Gai Pan on Mondays]. Or, if you don't want the special it's about $1 more and you get an egg roll. The helpings are generous, and the vegetables are cut relatively large [which I prefer]. This place used to be my favorite. But the delivery guy (older gentlemen with glasses) has consistently been so rude! He demands more tip than what you already have given. Rude and rings the door bell like he's been there for 10 mins even when I have watched him just drive up and walk to the door. He rings it like a 2 year old! And yells at you so rudely! After being their customer for 6 years, I am Finally done! Terrible service!!! read more
