Music is loud. Then there's people talking, i think it is the ceiling, high ceiling. It's great to have chairs and tables. I saw a tiny bug trapped in the bakery case. It is taking a bit long for my restaurant week salad. But there's gig workers coming in steadily to pick up orders for popular lunch time. They packed my lunch to go with a small dragon fruit smoothie. What a beautiful color! The quinoa kale salad (cucumber, cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes) with pomegranate dressing was amazing. Lots of flavor. The toasted bread slices (very hard crostini) with some sort carrot hummus/nutty dip was amazing. I feel healthy already. Restaurant week. Ends 11/9/25. They offered at their Mission Bay Jane? See the flyer. Im drinking my smoothie and I found a plastic in there. That's not good. I was giving it 4 stars for the amazing salad and hummus dip.

I came here to chat with a friend early morning before getting brunch nearby and I ended up getting a cup of drip coffee and the seasonal brioche with berry jam. Coffee was good and strong which was great with the buttery, rich brioche bread. I ended up sharing it with a friend as it's a huge portion of soft, pillowy bread. I loved the tart jam on top with berries which helped cut through the cream cheese filling. Overall a really great treat for breakfast and a nice neighborhood shop in the middle of a less than great area. Service is excellent and there's water out as well a good number of tables to dine at.

This was such a cute little cafe! On a cold morning I wanted some tea, and stumbled across his place. Service was nice, a great variety of options and really good prices. I will definitely be back on my next visit to San Fran.

I love cafes like this where breakfast is served all day, giving us so much to choose from on the menu. We got the sausage biscuit with no roasted tomato jam, the roasted mushroom and onion panini, a white chocolate oatmeal cookie, a double chocolate cookie, an iced mocha, and some tea. Everything looked better than it tasted, but that doesn't mean it tasted bad, the presentation was just very appetizing. They were generous with the toppings in the sandwiches, and the biscuit was nice and fluffy and seemingly infused with herbs. The cookies from the display case had good flavor but were a bit too chewy. Outside there is little to no signage, so the cafe is easy to miss from the sidewalk, in a run-down area with homeless scattered throughout. However, the inside is a total 180, a clean and pleasant atmosphere, offering sufficient service and a good amount of seating for dining in.

Popped over for a morning coffee while staying with my sister who lives down the street. Ambiance is beautiful! People are working at the tables or engaging with each other. The staff is very nice and welcoming. My quiche was soo good I still think about it. Coffee was amazing. If you are needing coffee while in the TL this is a great respite.

The reishi latte was so terrible for it being $6.5. It was super watery, not latte consistency, and the cacao flavor was super weak. The breakfast burrito was okay - it was mild with almost no flavor. You can see that the cotija cheese was in blocks. I wish the cheese was incorporated a little better. The location is good for tourists.

Contemporary, clean, modern cafe in the Tenderloin. 10am got super busy! Where did all these people come from?! Any way that was a rush scared for me. When I arrived at 9:30am it was a clam, one 2 people sitting at the counter on their electric devices waiting for their food to come to them. Tenderloin is not a neighborhood I frequent so since I was in this area, might as well detour and try something new and hope for the best. I heard a lot of good things about the Jane Bakery, but never had chance to venture to the two locations until now. The cafe is a clean well lighted wide open spaces I spent time looking at the tea they sell along the left wall. The pastry display case had a wealth of interesting pastries but the hard part for me is picking the one I wanted to eat now. I finally decided on the last sausage crossiant and the last cheese biscuit. I paid about $13.80 for two pastries, but very well made. I selected the the last two sausage Crossiant and cheese biscuit. Nice and flaky and crispy sausage Crossiant where the sausage had a mild spice to it. The cheese biscuit was nice and solid, good cheese flavor and nice texture. I would order both again. There wasn't much customer service, I just order and grab a napkin and sat at table. I wouldn't mind coming back if I was in the area to try some other pastries and perhaps try some breakfast.

Always been a fan of Jane. Just moved to the neighborhood, for some reason I always pass up this location. Disclaimer; don't be deterred from the outside looks... ;) Like I said, super clean interior, cute decor stocked with all the Jane essentials! I sat at a table and enjoyed the breakfast croissant sandwich (grilled onions were a great touch) And an iced latte. Highly recommend the crazy cookie and the " Jammy"... Excited to see that they sell their delicious bread at this location, since there are some days I'm looking for a nice baguette. (Usually walk to the ferry building) Quiet

Okay I never write reviews (I rarely feel so strongly as to take note of it) but I had to just let others know how truly awesome this place is. The prices are just reasonable enough to keep coming back for a treat, the food is REALLY good (I am seriously very picky, I got an egg white panini and switched up the cheese and got the tomato chutney on the side - WOW. Legit the perfect breakfast), The staff is kind and clearly all hard working and accommodating, they keep their areas clean, use lots of fresh coffee beans, and wear gloves. You can see the whole kitchen actually which just increases food trust. I rarely come back to restaurants, I literally went back to tip again and I'm serious when I say I'd come here daily until I've tried everything. Probably one of the best cafe experiences I've had.

This was my first time at any of Jane's locations. There was a special deal for SF Restaurant Week: for $15, I could choose between the Smoked Trout Salad and the Freekeh Salad and add any cookie. Before I ordered, I was told there was no more trout, but that I could substitute salmon. This sounded great to me! I don't remember ever eating trout and didn't know how much I'd like it, but I'm a big salmon eater. When I got home (I had ordered to-go), I opened the box and discovered the salmon was not a fillet but rather smoked salmon. I certainly enjoy lox on a bagel with cream cheese, but I wouldn't have ordered it as a protein in a salad. It was a generous portion of smoked salmon and seeing as it was an honest mistake -- not even a mistake, just miscommunication -- between a friendly staff person and me, I was going to cut Jane some slack and round up from 3.5 stars...but then I looked back at the menu to make sure the rest of the salad was what I had been expecting. Sure enough, there was no sign of avocado. Instead, it seems the person preparing the salad replaced it with carrot. Not cool, Jane. I'm more disappointed about that than I am about the salmon. I don't have food allergies, but if I did, you can bet my rating would have been lower. P.S. The Crazy Cookie was quite good. I would eat it again...I just wouldn't order an entree salad to go with it. read more

Let's see, hubby has a crush on Jane. . . Am I remotely jealous? . . Not really, I have a crush on a strange doctor on Earth-616 (Cumberbatch version in case you are wondering), so there's that. I'm totally into his badazz cloak, too. If I ever wear such an awesome cloak... I digress. So he luvs Jane's pastries and their salad bowls. Food is fresh and usually pretty yummy. Jane keeps him coming back, and sometimes she will even tempt me with a green smoothie or a bite of something (chocolate croissant). Staff is always friendly and quick to help, food and drinks come out quick too! Have always gotten my items to go since I live down the street, but they do have some tables inside and outside if you wanted to stay. Delicious food, especially the croissants breakfast sandwich! That is my all time favorite. read more

Came here for a late brunch on a Saturday and it was not busy. The counter order is easy and the orders are filled quickly. It has a very diner vibe to the place with small tables and quick service but refillable (or discounted refills) would make this a go-to. I tried the turmeric coffee because tbh I've had enough coffee even before brunch. It tasted like turmeric and was very foamy. Turmeric coffee might not be my thing, but that's not Jane's fault. Ordered the brunch combo plate with scrambled eggs, bacon and French toast. Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of berries provided with the French toast. I thought the syrup was a little too sweet IMO but otherwise it was very satisfying. Would come again tot ray their avocado toast. read more

Voted best croissant? So this I had to try for myself. And I have to say, I like mine a bit flakier to the same degree as those at Arsicault. It was buttered to perfection though. It tasted freshly baked, just wish it were flakier. But I would be willing to try other pastries (the cream filled donut looked bomb). I was also in need of some caffeine that morning so I opted for an oat milk latte which came in this adorable floral cup. I decided to enjoy my light breakfast on the bar by the espresso machine. There was sufficient lighting in the space due to the floor to ceiling windows by the entrance. I def enjoyed the space. I might be back to try other things! read more

This was my second time here. The first time I got a coffee (don't remember which one) it was good. I told myself I would go back because I live very close to this cute little shop. This morning, I went in for an iced machiatto which was $3.50 and seemed reasonably priced. My barista asked me what kind of milk I wanted for this and I told her regular. When they called my name to pick up my drink, this is the portion given to me. I've only ever ordered iced machiattos from Starbucks and can swear by it, that it's completely different than what is shown here. I grabbed my drink and was confused because what is this? Am I seeing things? Is the milk portion not a part of it? Why did my barista ask which percent milk if they didn't add any? I'm not sure. I was so confused but was almost running late for work so I just got my drink and left. I ended up going to another coffee shop to get another iced pick me up. I'm not sure if this is the full drink or if they just forgot to add milk??? Probably won't go again. But if I do, I will make sure to ask thorough questions next time because who the EF just drinks an iced machiatto like this? Was hesitant to post this but this was my experience. read more

The coffee is surprisingly good here - I got a cappuccino with my lunch not expecting anything special. It turned out to be one of the best cappuccinos I've had in a while! And I've just finished a trip from NY to Miami to SF where I have been drinking a lot of coffee. I will say their coffee is strong so be aware of that read more

I had a couple good experiences here getting breakfast/brunch food, but last time I went I had a salad, and it was disappointing. Service is minimal, ambiance is not frilly but functional. It's a relatively affordable and tasty option, but stick with the pastries and breakfast items, that seems to be their strength. read more

I admit this location isn't in the greatest neighborhood with the rise in unhoused people, but the charm and from the modern wall art and urban flora, along with the fun origami lined shelves give the cafe a lot of character, along with friendly staff. The latte art here are great! read more

I love Jane I love everything they serve and I love the people that work there. Today we had a difference in philosophy. Three customers came in and asked if they could bring food from an outside establishment if they bought a drink from Jane. Jane agreed to this. I personally think it's TACKY AF to bring in something to consume from a different restaurant!! Your fancy sunglasses and Chanel bag doesn't make up for being rude. Either give your business to Jane or give it to the Korean fried chicken place but you can't have your cake and eat it too. Yes, I'm aware the other restaurant doesn't have seating but *you are too*, because you asked if you could bring in outside food before you order. Buying a simple drink from Jane and then eating a meal from another restaurant is just plain disrespectful. Just because the people at Jane are too nice to tell you, this is extremely rude. I guess you were raised in a barn. And for those who tell me it's none of my business, the retail landscape of San Francisco and my neighborhood is important to me and should be to all of us. I usually go to Jane the Bakery on Geary and love it. We popped into Jane on Larking while visiting the hospital close by, and we loved it. Their coffee is amazing as usual. The breakfast and lunch menus are great. They have a variety of options, toasts, salad and sandwiches. We ended up trying the Tomato Mozzarella sandwich and the chicken Marsala, both of which were perfectly prepared and flavorful. They have a very friendly staff, and a very clean location. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Food was delicious. The French toast had a great lemon flavor and was crisp on the edges with a fluffy center. French toast tastes like lemon pound cake. The service was good, I had ordered the Cobb salad to go, and was repulsed when I got home and started eating. I took a bite of the chicken, and it was okay but then it started to taste funny and was crunchy. To my horror, I pulled out a piece of a cockroach leg out of my mouth. I was beyond disgusted. Came here for brunch with a couple of friends around 11am. We were ordered at the counter and then were able to snag a seat as people were leaving. It gets pretty crowded, but people are always coming and going so it's not toooo difficult to find a seat. Definitely a trendy spot. I got the Warm Quinoa Bowl with an egg ($12 + $2), and it was good with a decent sized portion, but like pretty overpriced for what it was. If I didn't get the egg, I would have literally just been eating a huge bowl of quinoa. Too much filler and not enough substance. I wanted to get avocado on top but I didn't want to pay an additional $2. My two friends got the Baked Egg Hash ($10), which was also a decent size, but they said it was definitely missing something- like meat or something to make it more filling than just potatoes. Overall, service was ok, food was ok, if I were in the area and didn't know where else to go I'd probably give it another chance, but overall not super impressed as I thought I'd be. read more

As I walking to work on van ness as I do every Saturday morning I always keep an eye for good stuff. After getting off at civic center bart I decided To head down Larkin Vs. Hyde and not deal with the Hyde street circus. I was cursing to my tunes, then I see this packed cage with no markings on it. So I busted a U-turn and went it. I saw "Jane" all over the place and then the line formed and I knew I was in good hands. I came to see breakfast and coffee is their speciality and as I just started drooling over all the fresh cookies that were placing on display and all the tasty vegan baked goods that I would be embarking on. I went with the "coconut berry" vegan muffin and a coffee to go. I ended up eating inside and enjoyed the atmosphere for 15 mins, really good vibes. It was around 10:35ishAM... The vegan coconut muffin was thick, crispy on top, balanced and not greasy or under cooked. It also was a smooth taste of berry and coconut, and left me feeling good. The coffee was also very tasty and I'm a coffee connoisseur! My server was friendly and asked how I was despite the business, showed he cared. Best $10ish I spent on food in a long time. Tons of breakfast places near Jane but stop here and you won't be disappointed. Had the peanut butter, banana, honey toast. Food really is science, even though simple at times. The bread was nicely toasted. Firm but not burnt, and the peanut butter was not overly salty but very creamy. The banana slices were thin, so large chunks didn't fall off your fork and on to your white jeans. The honey was a well added topping. But - then the flax seeds on top of the honey added a top crunch to the bottom toast crunch. Very satisfying. And the drip coffee was robust and piping hot. Hope to be back soon. read more

Jane's is THE BEST!! I've only had their breakfast, but it never fails to disappoint. We order Jane for the office pretty regularly and I am always impressed. I've tried pretty much everything from their breakfast menu and you really cannot go wrong (Delicious eggs, chicken apple sausage, frittatas, lox spread, avocado toast, parfaits, etc.) NOT TO MENTION THEIR PASTRIES ARE AMAZING!! Happy hippy bowl is a healthy, filling lunch. Fresh mixed greens a topped with scoops of almond turmeric pate, hummus, and a seed pate. I didn't care for the oily dressing, so left it off and just mixed in the toppings along with the shredded raw beets, carrots, and a few slices of tomato. $15 is a bit pricey, but you won't be hungry afterwards. Not sure I'd order again, but glad I tried it. read more

One of our talents was nice enough to bring us a box of goodies from Jane a while back. Luckily this was in time for breakfast as we had them first thing in the morning. This was on Wednesday, September 13th around 9am. A coworker and I shared an apple danish like item. It was flaky with crumbles and not too sweet. We also got a blueberry muffin type item, what looked like coffee cake, and I think a chocolate donut? I didn't try these items, so not sure what they ended up being. Nice sweet treats. Love love love! This place has one of the best lattes in the city! Their food and baked goods are on point too! They have a daily cake which is usually covered with fresh whipped cream and berries. Their paninis and salads are always a good bet as is the green smoothie. I love the orange ginger juice! The staff always looks like their having fun and it's just a really pleasant place to be. I live in the neighborhood and like to go there to just sip and read the news. read more

Jane on Larkin is a great coffee/brunch spot. You order your food at the counter, get an order number and the server delivers it to your table but it's up to you to find an available table. I thought Avocado Smash was very delicious. Jalopeno pickle is on point with combination with smooth avocado and eggs. The toast was awesome crispy and chewy. Thought the price was very reasonable as well. read more

Jane is the type of place where they already know they're popular enough to sustain regular business, so they've stopped trying. Walked in and was met with extremely mediocre attitude tinged with impatience. Yes I know what oat milk is, yes I know what it tastes like. I didn't really care until the food arrived. The grilled cheese was an insult to me as a paying customer - it looked like precisely one block of one type of cheese stuck between two bread and hastily heated up with no rhyme or rhythm. I'm sure there are better things on the menu, but even something as easy as grilled cheese should be given equal attention. Alright, I get it, you're doing well so you don't need my patronage. Disappointing since I was hoping this would be my go to in this area, but I am happy to take my business elsewhere. read more

Despite the craziness that is in the TL, it's always a warm welcome when I come into Jane. The pastries and cookies satisfy my sweet tooth each and every time. I don't venture outside of my ice coffee, but I'm sure their espresso drinks are all fire. It's an oasis in the neighborhood and I'm thankful they've been around for a while. read more

Instead, it was oddly firm, almost al dente, making it feel more undercooked than fried. I also tried the garlic chicken soup, expecting something similar to Avgolemono. Instead, it was a thin, watered down broth with the same dry chicken pieces from the Mediterranean Bowl tossed in. The pita bread served with it was honestly the worst part of the meal and the only thing I threw away. Nothing was completely inedible, but for more than $60 worth of takeout, I expected food that matched the clean, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. Sadly, this experience fell well short of that, and it's not a place I'll be returning to.

On the days we have gone, the line has varied from being out the door to a quick walk in and order - truly just depends. Regardless of the long line, these drinks are soooo good. Upon entering the coffee shop, you'll see a good amount of seating, but for the times we have gone, the majority of the seats are taken. It is definitely a variety of people socializing, working, reading books, or just hanging out. Parking is metered or street parking, and we haven't had any issue finding parking! It's also in an area where you can shop around (across the street) if you want to grab a bite as well. Our go to orders include the Mocha Dream Espresso Cloud and the Nitro Mango, but we have also gotten the Hojicha Cloud, which is amazing as well. We love the thickness and flavors of the cold foams - you cannot go wrong with any of the cloud drinks. As popular as this place has become, it truly is worth the trip! Staff was kind and patient with explaining drinks, especially since this location is newer. I got the caramel latte cloud espresso and was very pleasantly surprised!!! I usually get specialty drinks half sweet, but forgot this time - the caramel latte cloud espresso was actually just right without adjusting the sweetness. The cold foam on top was light and delicious. They only had one size and it was pretty big. The applewood bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on brioche bread was also amazing. Very savory, not too heavy either. It was mostly just bread though. Definitely coming back to try their other drinks when I'm in the area!

I've been coming to Jane for about a year now, and it's been my go-to when I'm in the mood for coffee or brunch. The people who work here are usually very friendly, but we all have bad days. Tom is especially great; my pour over once took too long and I had to leave, so he remembered and gave me a free one the next time I came in. The coffee here is top notch. They use Stumptown beans and rotate blends periodically. I typically just get pour overs, but the Latte I've had was good and the Chai I've had was excellent. The food here is also very good, especially the weekend brunch menu. They use fresh and local ingredients, and have a good amount of gluten free and vegetarian options. Their pastries are delicious, especially their banana bread (which you can buy by the loaf). The baked egg hash is probably my favorite for its excellent flavor. I also really like the scrambled egg sandwich and the egg white sandwich. Maybe I just like eggs. If you're in the Lower Nob area and in the mood for coffee or great food, definitely check this spot out. Their prices are reasonable, but definitely on the higher end. Jane on Larkin is a hidden gem, although in one of the sketchiest parts of The Loin. The food is amazing and the service is always quality. I have eaten here probably 5-7 times so I'm always trying something new. The sausage biscuit is a personal favorite although not pictured below. I would say one this they need to be more efficient with is seating, the seats are just there with a first come style. Which works unless it's really crowded. This time I opted for the mission un-smoothie which was a solid breakfast burrito, could of had a little more flavor but the content of what's in it gives it a solid B+. The spicy baked eggs I would say is something you eat just to get you going for the day, not the most fulfilling meal, but delicious especially with the toast on the side. read more

oooof this place is the worst. how can a spot literally with more dirty silverware than a serial killers crawlspace and MICE HAVE RUDE EMPLOYEES AT THE SAME TIME? I told myself I would never go there again after finding a hair in my food but i needed coffee on my way to work and stopped in and not only did a mouse scurry across my foot when I was given the wrong order the girl at the register acted as if I coughed maskless in during covd bc she was rude, not cool kid at a coffee glib, but legit rolled her eyes. this place truly is bad, id rather be a patron of the bottom of a birdcage. read more

Bread is typically undercooked. Service is ridiculously unorganized and inefficient, generating lines which have no place in this type of business. The store manager must be one of the worst to ever/grace a cafe/bakery. The corner boys slinging meth and crack in front of the store run a much smoother operation than this overpriced excuse for a bakery (7$ for a loaf of sourdough -which used to be 5$- standing in line outside the store in the smell of bodily fluids courtesy of the local homeless community). This place is a scam. $4.50 for a hollow pastry. they make their food big, but when you bite into it, there's nothing but air. Also, they have this creepy old man who won't stop staring at my daughter. They let him hang around for hours, filling up every corner of the store with origami while checking out little girls in the restaurant. I wanna update my review. I was here there today as well. I forget to ask without bacon and they didn't warm me bacon in the salad as well. When please please to do with out bacon. She just take it back and took out bacons but there was still some little piece at the salad. And she hardly put on table then left. Then I ordered another one without bacon. I usually come here to chill, drink some matcha and draw. This time I went with my bf and bought the smoked salmon and chicken shawarma bowl. The chicken bowl was good, and even my gf kept stealing from my food lol. The smoked salmon was not as good and not that great, but we still were able to be productive. Great place to get work done, except no wifi, so use your mobile hotspot. read more

This place is a favorite of mine and frankly it's awesome because San Francisco needs more spots like this that said I think they rely a bit too much on their reviews and there is a small feeling that the prices are higher than they should be whenever I go in still it's worth it 4 out of 5 Stars well-earned drop the price is 10% and you got yourself 5 stars! read more

Stopped by here for a quick lunch while I was in the city. Had the chicken curry sandwich - delicious. Also tried their mocha - it was just the right balance of chocolate and coffee without being too sweet. It's a small location, so might be tough to get a table. But they seem to move fast here, so even on a busy Saturday we didn't have to wait too long. read more

This is a phantom place. I know I was on the correct block: Larkin, between Clement and Geary. Walked up and down both sides of the block, twice. I passed a few eateries, but there's absolutely no signage that identifies any one of them as being "JANE." Mighty peculiar. Perhaps it folded during the pandemic? read more

I had the mocha here and it was one of the best coffees I have ever had. They added a homemade marshmallow to put it over the top. Pastries were amazing. The whole place is super modern and super clean. read more
