We have been customers for over a year. Aire Serv has provided us with regular maintenance and service calls. Our air conditioner quit on us last night. I called at 7pm on a Friday night and my call was answered. They scheduled a visit between 2pm and 4pm the next day (Saturday). Its over 100 degrees outside so the sooner the better! Vade arrived at 2:30pm and got right to work. Very professional and friendly, he quickly diagnosed our problem, had the part to replace our warn part (and brought the warn one in for me to inspect). James was able to solve my furnace hammering problem. I hired them because they answered my questions in Yelp and gave me a possible cause that make me feel professional. They guessed right that it was the blower problem. They solved the hammering problem by cleaning the blower. Blower was not clean for probably 10 years. Summary: Good work at a reasonable price done by polite and inteligent people! I had a problem with leaking vinyl flex heat supply ducts in my crawl space, and did not want to go under the house to replace them. I wanted to get bids from a couple of people, and picked J.E. Moore as one. Shortly after I left a message, Jay called and set up an apointment to give an estimate. He arrived on time and spent an hour helping me define what I wanted to do, and sent me a bid that afternoon. From similar bids, I had him do the work of replacing all our supply ducts with flex aluminum ducting. He scheduled the work for three days, and showed up on time. John was in charge of the work on site, and was very careful and answered any questions and concerns I had. I had assumed that they would just replace the existing ductwork, but Jay came back several times, and crawled under the house so he could redesign the system to solve a problem with different airflow levels in different parts of the house. They kept me informed about their schedules and when I needed to be here, and they always showed up on time. The work was completed on schedule, and the airflow through the house is much better than ever, solving a problem that has bugged us for several years. As the work proceeded, Jay and John identified a number of issues as they worked, and took care of all of them. The work was done carefully, and they did not cut corners to save their time and effort. They also said they would come back if after a couple of weeks we thought we needed to adjust the airflow. After seeing the reviews I called Jay and asked for a quote. Despite of his busy schedule, he was able to stop by the same day and provided a quotation in the afternoon. Although he is out for a few days, but the email exchange was seamless. The quotation was the most reasonable one as we consulted 5+ vendors. The information and knowledge they share was substantial. The only reason I decided to go with another vendor was purely due to my contractor's very limited English skill, as he needs to communicate with HVAC vendor for reframing, dry wall tear down & patching, electrical rewiring due to a pipe burst in the drywall earlier. J E Moore technician just finished up at my house. He fixed our AC in the middle of summer, less than 24 hrs after we called. He did so with a smile on his face and was very courteous. The AC unit is on the hot side of the house and he immediately knew what was wrong. Our AC now blows colder than it ever has, all for a very reasonable price. A friend recommended we call J.E. Moore Jay came out and gave us a couple different options. He didn't start off suggesting a new unit like the previous companies did. He was trying to fix the problem without spending a lot of money. After hearing his options we decided to get a whole new unit, but Jay mentioned he could fix the problem for half the cost...we still went with the new unit. I liked Jay so much we let him put the unit in while we were on vacation. I trusted him that much. I have been trying to get an appointment for over a week. I talked to them on 5 days ago on a Thursday, I was told that they could not make it out before the weekend, crappy, but totally understandable. They tell me my appointment will be Monday at 9am. Then Sunday I listen to my messages and there is one from the owner saying that Monday was already booked and they would be by Tuesday at 9 am instead. Mistakes happen I get it it's hot outside. Like over 100 hot. I call the the company first thing Monday morning and leave a message saying I took Monday morning off work to get this done and I am not available Tuesday morning what else is available. The owner then tells me he will come at 2pm on Tuesday, I agree make it home by 1 and wait. I respect people's time and when someone tells me they will do something I need to make sure I am there to fulfill my end and be home and present. It is now 6:40 on Tuesday. I have been leaving messages since 2pm today, the owner called me back at 3 and said his guy would be here from 2-5 ok, I will wait. I have now left 8 messages on 2 different phone numbers and no one has gotten back to my since 3. Literally, no one answers the phone at the office. Not sure about how you do business but we've talked to our property manager and asked them to switch who they use as an HVAC provider as this is unacceptable. Still waiting... read more

Customer service on the phone was courteous and prompt. Explained my thermostat wasn't working anymore and looked like it wasn't receiving power. When I asked for a quote they said they can't give quotes over the phone without seeing the problem. Fair enough. The tech comes out and is rude and completely unfriendly. Show him the thermostat and 10 mins later he hands me an invoice for $230. No quote, no diagnosis, NEVER TOLD ME THERE IS A MINIMUM CHARGE. My house is a mile from their shop. Sorry, but this is a completely unethical business practice. It also means they charged me about $1k per hour. Give me a break. I will never use this company again. I read the Yelp reviews and have to say, they live up to the star rating. They have come out to fix my AC twice. Each time, the tech showed up when they said he would, was knowledgeable and worked quickly. The first was to fix and install a new thermostat. It required a bit of rewiring, but we had one that worked well, finally! The second time was the best time of all. We could not understand why our 5 year old AC unit was not keeping our house cool, let alone cold. Not only did he discover a piece of filter fabric laying on the condenser, he also determined that when it was initially installed that they didn't put enough freon in the line! JE Moore didn't install it, it was another company now out of business. We had ice cold air blowing into our hot house, finally! read more

I don't know how this company getting so many positive reviews unless it is all fake. Be aware. I can't comment on a service yet, but I can comment on making appointments. We schedule diagnostic appointment well in advance more then a week in order to accommodate both tenant and owner schedules. At a time of appointment we got assured it is not a problem and technical will be on time. So needed to run from an office and making accommodations waiting for technical. Got phone call from Jim 7 minutes before an appointment that technical will be 1 hour 30 min late in it is sound like my fault because we requested specific time. So at least half a day in an office is gone and AC guy won't pay for it. Looking to hear how I would overcharge for a actual repair. No really reliable service in AC repair business until you do it yourself in my view. The part the piss me off the most, Jim made it sounds that technical late is my fault. To be continued... Story continued: After 2 hours delay technical came and found that unit low on freon. I' have been charged $500 for freon refill. I guess that is the price not doing it myself. So now he is charged me $350 (still $100 more then other guys charge in an area and $200 more then it should be) but I got apology from AC repair guy !!! Jim was not be able to indicate why I was overcharged (he could not contact technician at a time, I know lame excuse). So I'm almost over this accident. Incompetent and Unreliable I actually shocked that this business has such a high rating. This is my experience. Incompetent: I live in a condo and the technician arrived for the diagnostic appointment. My building had six units and I showed him exactly where the six units were located on the outside. He told me to turn my AC on. It was a cool morning so I'm assuming my unit was the only one with AC active. After an hour, I'm wondering what he is doing outside for so long. Just as I'm ready to go outside to make sure this guy didn't fall over an pass out, my cell rings and the technician asked me if I know which of the six HVAC units it mine! Ok, so that only took one hour. That is when I started to get worried. After a while he came into my place and had problems figuring out how to work my thermostat (it about 10 years old ... not high tech). I had to show him how to set the AC and heat. This guy was incompetent. Unreliable: Then, he provides me with an estimate. Unit needs Freon and sealant. I figure this is a simple job, so I set up a follow up appointment to have the work done, pray they send a different technician, and stay home from work. They promise to arrive between 8 and 10 am. At 9:50 am I called the office and asked them when the technician will arrive. The lady verifies my appointment from 8 to 10 am, is surprised he is not there, and then she told me he will be there by the end of the day ... sorry for the inconvenience. Wouldn't a good business at least call and tell me he will be late? I took the morning off of work to stay home for this appointment. I called up numerous other companies to do this work. None of them will agree to do the work because they lack confidence in the JE Moore solution. They all told me it is a temporary fix that would not last, and they refuse to damage their reputation on such a solution. My advice ... don't waste your time and money with this business. read more

How about zero stars? The guy came in, nearly zero communication, I was the one forcing it. Tried to sell me a thermostat for 3x its market value. I had to stay home the whole morning for him to show up, so I said whatever, just do it, with a minor discount. Then he could not install the thermostat (wifi enabled, one with an app etc..) - I had to help him throughout the wifi connection, but things did not work, I told him to leave it at that. I came to visit my mom for the 4th of July holiday.. it's super hot here in Danville and her a/c was not working in the family room-- where I like to watch TV. She had been scammed by a company called Mr. Sparky and she was hesitant to call anyone else for help as she is 76. I started researching on Yelp for the best company to help but it seems eveyone reputable was booked 2 weeks out. I kept trying and finally found J.E Moore Air Conditioning. I spoke with Jay, told him that we suspected that one of the ducts had come loose as air was not reaching one room. He said he would send his guys within the hour. At first we were hesitant because the initial fee was $250 just to go under the house-- but let me tell you, these guys were worth it. As promised John and Matt arrived within the hour, they put booties on before coming in the house, and blankets before they went under the house. Within 20 minutes John came up and showed us a picture of where the duct had come loose and was clearly broken. He got my mom's approval and then went to work. While he was was under the house fixing the duct, Matt was changing the air filter which literally had dust and webs hanging from it. Not only did he change the filter but he vacuumed out the dust and dirt. After John fixed the duct he came back up and showed us a picture of the repair. Un-freaking believable! We love these guys and I feel so lucky to have found them. My mom was so pleased she gave them a $20 tip to go get lunch at In & Out Burger since they came on their lunch hour. I posted a picture of them and am really happy with everything. My mom has their card taped to the fridge and now J.E Moore Air Conditioning is her go-to guy for anything related to a/c or heating issues. Thanks to J.E. Moore for fixing our new (one year old) air conditioner. Last year we replaced our ac. However, it didn't work properly from the start. Despite repeated attempts to get it fixed by the company that sold it to us and installed it, it still didn't work. Jason just left, and got the AC running again. Thank goodness! He was in and out of here in less than 20 minutes. He pointed out that my dirty filter had probably put out the furnace and that the main circuit board had a short in the relay. He explained everything to me in a manner that I could understand, and he even showed me how to fix it if it goes bad!! He could have easily told me that the unit was bad and try to sell me a new system for a couple grand. Instead, he told me to get a new filter for $8!!! JE Moore did a lot of work for us when we first bought our house last Fall 2011. They spent many hours and many days under and above our house, repairing horribly shoddy existing ducting work in addition to replacing (fixing?) our plenum. I have not even a vague understanding of what a plenum is but it has been reported by those in the know that they did a fantastic job on that as well. It's rare when you have absolutely zero complaints or nagging concerns when it comes to work like this, but they did such an impeccable job and everything was done carefully and perfectly. Before they came, many ducts under our house were falling on each other and many had 4 or more inch gaps between the joints. How energy efficient can that be?? They not only fixed all the duct work but sealed each and every vent register in the entire house, taping every single one. They were on time, professional, friendly guys and they will be the first people we call should we need any work done in the future. read more

I called three AC companies and the one that called me back was JE Moore; Alberto was able to come right on time to fix my malfunctioning 25 yr old compressor. After diagnosing the problem, the starter capacitor needed replacement and I accepted the $245 quote. Alberto completed the work in less than 30 mins and said it should run fine through the summer and to consider a new unit this fall.
