Finally was able to return here after so many years and I am pleasantly surprised. Changes made, atmosphere is changed up and this service is amazing! From the bus boys attentiveness to the server being just perfect, it and her name is Terry. She is fun on so many levels! It's 4th of July weekend and she dressed the part and also is giving you amazing service and perfect jokes. I do like when you have servers who aren't uppity and make you enjoy the little time you have in establishments. This is a plus for the restaurant. I had the BLT and for me this is so perfect for me, just filling enough for me to start the day. Coffee is a little too burned shall I say and the pickle is weak with the sandwich, but still that doesn't deter me from giving a good review as I see the wonderful pluses here! I visited this spot the Saturday before Easter. There was a waitress in a bunny suit so clearly they're very spirited. The service was fairly timed. The booths have the dividers and they seat people next to each other. Otherwise, it's fairly spaced. The menu was nice because it had low carb options under their "dieter's special". I ordered the steak and eggs. I usually get well done steak but they had a note on the menu that said "not responsible for your well done steak". I took that as they'll probably burn my steak so I just got medium well. Steak wasn't super flavorful but it was fine. My partner got the big breakfast with extra pancake and grits. His biggest complaint was the pancakes were ehh. Otherwise it was okay. We paid the front. Overall experience was fine. We probably won't be back. read more

Went to Jedi's other day and they where closed for some reason so we went to this restaurant on 89th and Harlem in Bridgeview called The View which I heard had just recently reopened and WOW it was so delicious I had the greak pork chops and my wife had the French dip with real hand sliced tender roast beef. Jedi's is good but our go to place now is going to be the View and the place not only is beautiful but the waitress and hostess we're really nice. read more

I LOVE this place!!! Wish I had been coming here for that past year instead of Huck Finn. They treat their customers wayyyy better and the food is excellent and the portions are generous. Plus their pricing is very nice as well. Same breakfast order as I used to get at Huck Finn for less money and with a LOT less attitude. Jedi is going to be my breakfast place from now on. Went there for a quick dinner on a Sunday night. Place was empty. I ordered the chicken parm. I ate 2 bites. It was awful. The breading on the chicken was so salty I couldn't taste the chicken. It was absolutely drowning in sauce. I thought I'll just eat the mostaccoli. The Sauce had no flavor at all. Bland doesn't begin to describe it. It came with a side of canned green beans mixed with what I think was stewed to tomatoes. My husband let me have some of his fried chicken which was bland but edible. It did have a nice crispy coating. The gravy on the mashed potatoes had a strange flavor which we think was nutmeg. Should have saved the $$. At least the dogs will be happy when they get the leftovers. And don't look up. The crap on the vents was dusgusting! read more

Visited this place today as we were back in the area. Service was so slow. Waitress never brought coffee, so another one did and then after 15 minutes, No one came around to refill coffee. I finally had to ask for a refill when they brought the food. The food was not as good as it used to be. However, you do get good portions for the money. Well after my last encounter with this restaurant I have to say I was disgusted with my last visit here. I order my usual and chose to get a salad. Everything seem to be fresh. As I'm eating my salad I noticed something brownish black in my garden salad. I pick the lettuce up and seen it was actually a baby roach. The soup was salty and garlicky. The bread had no flavor. The place stinks like floor cleaner lavender or something strong that gave me a migraine. The table was sticky. VERY disappointed in food and charged a surprised $1.00 "service charge " for take out -total $18.00! We've been eating at Jedi's Garden for about 25 years. More often breakfast than lunch or dinner but a couple recent dinner trips had me deciding to do a review. Many people describe this as a "Typical Greek restaurant". Now with exception to the Saganaki, that is just melted cheese in a pan (flames and "Opa!" started as a Chicago thing and not really part of the traditional dish), I couldn't find much that would be found in a Greek restaurant (not a single grape leaf anywhere on the menu). What this place should be described as is a traditional diner with fancier entrees and desserts. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean and there is always an excess of bus boys and cleaners throughout the restaurant. My recent dinner interactions have all involved a waitress named Vee. This woman is a great diner waitress that goes out of her way to make her customers happy and is a great conversationist on most any topic. I now request to sit in her section if she's working. Not every waiter or waitress would be classified as great here. Some would even find it difficult to be classified as good. Your quality of service may vary greatly. The food is usually quite good but the menu selection is pretty big and not every item here is consistent. I've found that ordering the daily specials always results in perfectly cooked and presented food. A few things we had on this last trip was creamy lemon rice soup with a nice depth of flavor and great consistently. A daily special of lobster ravioli was really good and had great lobster flavor, a mild lemon marina sauce, and four nice sized shrimp on top. The pork chops Vesuvio was good but diminished a bit with gloppy gravy and dry peas on top. Fudge eclairs have been pretty good, and the lemon meringue pie is very tasty with a very high and dense meringue. A couple things I don't care for is a "two refills only" soft drink policy (with just 10oz glasses) as each glass of soda costs them less than $.10 cents, and their refusal multiple times to accept the 10% Yelp check-in offer stating "I'm the owner and never offered anything like that!" Not the worlds best customer service to end a visit. Over all a good quality of food for the price and having the right waiter or waitress really makes a difference. This place kind of feels like some cheap vegas diner that hasn't been updated since the 70s. The staff is nice and friendly, but the food is not very good. The menu has this gorgeous picture of a of a perfectly cooked and garnished steak with sautéed mushrooms and all the fixings. When it came, it was the piece of meat by itself on a giant plate floating in oily water. It was so unappetizing. When I asked for the sautéed mushrooms, I was given a plate of soggy canned mushrooms. Their fries were good, so maybe it depends on what you ordered. The "manager" or owner - a sketchy looking character who looks the the kind of guy who'd come after you for not paying your gambling debts - was just kind of standing around staring at everyone too - especially the ladies. It was unsettling. The staff was hard working and friendly and I feel bad that they have to work in such a cheap place. On another occasion when my mother in law went here with her kids (she is from another country), they brought her the bill right away like they were afraid she was going to dine and dash. read more

I'll go maybe 3.5 stars. Going over the menu, the prices and portions seem a bit cheaper than most other places. Jambalaya - Not your typical jambalaya, but it was okay. They do not skimp on the meats. I just wished they chopped the chicken pieces a little smaller. Blackened Prime Rib Special - My guy got this and it was good. Very tender. Service is a bit spotty. She was pretty good until the end. She came by and asked if we needed anything and I told her refill and napkins. She disappeared and started to help two other tables and took her a while to come back. She came back and asked if we needed anything.....and I had to tell her again. If I do return, I would like to try something else and definitely try out one of their desserts. read more

I am sorry to report that my brother & I went for breakfast. Normally I let things slip if it's hella busy but that was not the case at all with only 6 tables being used. There was just no excuse for bad service. The food was stale, they didn't serve us the complimentary rolls & muffins with butter, the coffee was super super watery, the wait staff was a little grumpy (though the staff that assisted us actually were not), & the hash browns tasted of old oil! We popped into Jedi's today around 11:50. Our party of 4 was seated right away. Our waitress took a few minutes to get to us. She was very polite. We ordered drinks and received those a few minutes later. Then, we waited about 45 minutes (maybe a little longer) for our food. I had the cinnamon French toast which was pretty good but cold served with cold syrup. I had 3 pieces, 1 of which had a raw center. My husband's meat loaf and mashed potatoes were also pretty cold. My daughter's fries were burnt. Her chicken sandwich was hot and she enjoyed it. My son had the chicken cheddar omelet which he was very happy with. BTW, minestrone soup was delicious. I was a little bummed when we received the check. The drinks were very small at not so small prices. I felt the prices overall were a little high. read more
