The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I stopped in here for a quick bite, but had never been before. The staff was welcoming and explained the menu. Yes it's little pricier than some other sandwich spots, but the meat and cheese is freshly sliced. Anywhere with freshly sliced meat is more expensive. I think it makes a difference though. I had the turkey breast and provolone "Mike's Way". I thought it was a great sandwich. Simple. Flavorful. No gimmicks. Just good meat, good cheese and good bread with lettuce, tomato onion, olive oil, red vinegar, salt and pepper. (I believe) If you are looking for a sandwich piled high with toppings, this isn't the place. Looking for high quality meat in the style of a classic sub sandwich, this is your spot. Update: I was contacted by Kelly from Jersey Mikes. She listened to my concerns, apologized for the employee's rude and awkward behavior and promised to speak with him. She also offered a few free sandwiches which were nice. Unfortunately, I was still no comfortable enough going back but my husband was more than willing to do it for me so yay for a free meal and for customer service listening. I will say my husband has never got sick from eating from here, I totally appreciate the lengths they go to to keep cross contamination from happening and that might keep us coming back despite the weird employee. Update X2 I went back about two weeks ago and the employees that were there (especially the girl in the blue glasses) were great. They were pleasant and willing to do the work to keep the gluten out of the gluten free sandwich. I stopped in here for a first time, and have to admit the setup was a bit confusing. There was a line of people standing in line headed toward the cash register in front of the veggies used to make sandwiches. I couldn't see the whole menu from the end of the line, so I stood a little apart from the rest. One of the workers must have felt I was a little lost when she saw me head for the line and called me back to the middle area to take my order. I couldn't decide, so she recommended the number 43 - the Chipotle Cheesesteak. I picked up some sunchips (they had a variety of different flavors and headed for the register. When I added a drink to make it a meal, the cashier told me I got a free cookie with it. I tried to say no, but he was fairly convincing as he assured me that the cookies are freshly baked every morning. Well, I'd certainly be remiss in NOT trying them - just for the sake of the review you know. I wasn't impressed with the first bite of sandwich, lots of bread and very little filling. Hmmm... The second bit was better - more meat and a creamy sauce that tasted cheesy. By the fourth bite I was feeling very 4 stars about the whole experience. The beef was tender and moist and the sauce was generously applied. I chose a sugar cookie and it was pretty tasty. What sugar cookie isn't, you know? The sandwich wasn't cheap (over $7) but the taste was good, so I'm not adverse to returning. read more

I was in here today at 11 40 am. There was one customer ahead of me. This customer was indecisive and held up the line a lot. By 11 44 my sandwich was made. They are still trying to sort out the cookie order of the person ahead of me. Finally get it figured out, get all paid out. Wait! Need more cookies. Go thru the payment process again, but now no cookies. They are supposedly in the "back". Now the customer behind me has his sandwich made, the sandwich maker is working on the third sandwich. Still waiting on cookies that are to be bought up to the register. My sandwich has been made and sitting there for six minutes, they are cutting and wrapping the third sandwich. At this point the lady running the register leaves her work station and starts talking to customers at the end of the line. At 11 52 I walked out, did not get a sandwich. Mine had been sitting there for eight minutes. It will be a long time before I go back. I went to Firehouse several miles away, they made me a sandwich in about five minutes or so. Beware the Bros...this is their lunch spot. These bros were from the oil fields and I was floored when I realized that these boys actually made it out of the fields and into the NW without getting lost. My co-worker saw the Food Wars episode on Pat's and Geno's cheesesteak places in Philadelphia and was OBSESSED with finding a cheesesteak sandwich. I decided to humor the kid and find him a cheesesteak place for our lunch run since he's never had it before. I've had cheesesteaks at both Pat's and Geno's (and my vote goes to Pat's) so I wanted to find something comparable. I knew that was going to be tough in Bako so, we settled on Jersey Mike's, which I'm guessing is an east coast chain. The east coast chain has got to beat Subway, right? We had about a 5 minute wait to order and then another 5-7 minute wait for our food - before their lunch rush. We both ordered #17, the regular cheesesteak, which is on their hot sandwiches menu. The meat was done well - juicy, not overly chewy, and piping hot. The onions and red peppers were overgrilled, and there could have been more onions. The cheese was provolone...darn it...too high class for a Philly cheesesteak! Maybe I'm not an authentic cheese fan but, cheese whiz makes a good Philly cheesesteak. All in all, this place does cheesesteak well but, a little too fancy. The price point was a bit high at $7.50 for a six inch sandwich so I'm not sure the value is there. Also, there is no way this place holds a candle to the authentic Philly cheesesteak dining experience. First of all, there was indoor seating while Pat's has bench seating in the back of the stand. There was no loud Italian cashier screaming at his mom in the back because the cash register got stuck. There's no crackheads trying to sell me bootleg DVDs while I'm eating. Jersey Mike's serves up a mean sub that's piled high with a whole lot of goodies. I love that they slice the meat and cheese that goes on your sandwich right in front of you. So cool! And, I really love their bread too, especially with the cornmeal on the bottom of each loaf! Even though I enjoy the subs here, I am always a bit overwhelmed with the pepper on the sandwich as well as the dousing of oil and vinegar onto the lettuce. This is partially my falt. I need to be more aggressive and say I just want a tiny bit of those items because it's not that I don't like them, it's just that I want less of them. I don't like when the lettuce on your sub turns into its own dressed salad. Something I do enjoy on the sub: a little mayo with the red pepper spread mixed in on top of it. YUM! Called ahead during the Corona virus and told me 20 minutes. Got there and no customers in store and they didn't have order ready or started because they said I must if called other Coffee location. I said no because it was the only one in my contacts. Show them the stamped time and number and no apology and asked want I wanted . Waited for them to cook a # 56 and make a lg # 7 another 20 min, and when I got home all on the # 7 was mayo and mustard. Left out the lettuce and tomatoes and banana pepper. Love love love this Jersey mikes location. The subs are awesome. I didn't think I would like mine Mikes way, but I do! It's like herbs, vinegarette, and some other stuff. Everything I have tried is delicious, but I really enjoy the club sub. The prices are a little much, but they have a rewards program where you can earn goodies for being loyal. Ordered a "sub in a tub" - something advertised on the menu and the guy didn't know how to make it. Also didn't know what "mikes way" was, another thing on the menu. My food was bland and had no flavor because he put enough oil and vinegar in it to cover 2 bites at best. Then after getting half way through it discovered was missing 2 ingredients supposed to be on the sub. Not to mention the cream soda was bad and the guy stated would fix it "right away"; my fiancé waited 15 minutes after being nearly done with his meal for it to be "fixed" and it was still bad and spitting carbonated water. All of this for $28 for 2 people. I won't be coming back. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the ingredients seemed fresh. During these trying times of Corona we've been getting curbside pickup for two months now at this location. We arrived today, called for 15 minutes straight from multiple phones to no avail while watching throngs of people with no masks come in and out. This was now 20 minutes after initial pickup time when I approached the heavily trafficked doorway and asked the two employees why the phone wasn't being answered and told them I was here to pick up a sandwich curbside. To my dismay I peered into the depths of the store to see the sandwich just sitting on the table where they motioned me to come in and grab it. I asked again why they weren't answering the phone and they said they were not taking phone calls or orders over the phone anymore. They literally unplugged their phone. The staff has always been very friendly, the ingredients are fresh and tasty, and I generally have a coupon or offer that is always honored, happily. Without the coupon, Jersey Mike's may be a tiny bit overpriced for what you get, but that's only enough to drop my experience from 5 to 4 stars. I would recommend lunches here. Not dinners, but subs just don't feel right for dinner no matter where you go. Parking is easy, though the lot can be a little hidden if you're headed east/west on Hageman. She had this I don't care attitude and when I asked about the $2 donation she was very abrupt and rude to the point I turned to walk back out the door only to have my friend pull me back in as we were rushed For time. I cannot believe this is the closest Jersey Mike's to San Jose but that's what the significant other claims as he asks me to bring him home a sandwich when I drive home from Vegas. So I have been here twice. Once I had amazing service, the other time the employees weren't really focused on engaging their customers, but rather discussing plans with each other. However no one was ever rude and they made everything to order (good because I wasn't going to drive back from San Jose!). My only real complaint is the lack of vegetarian options. Which is why I personally haven't eaten at Jersey Mike's. But the sandwiches are good enough that my sandwich snob of a significant other asks for delivery. Their veggie sandwich is one of my favorite! Have it "Mike's Way" and it is even better. I absolutely love their bread it tastes so fresh and it's so crunchy on top yet so soft on the inside. Of course, it's a little bit more expensive than say, Subway, but the twist of having it Mike's Way with a friendly crew is something that is hard to find! Very good sandwiches. You're gonna pay a few more dollars here than you would at the big chain, sandwich shops. You get what you pay for here. The quality is better. Employees are younger kids, but they've always been courteous and respectful. One thing that irritated me was the rules on discounts to first responders, "in uniform". Some of us law enforcement officers (first responder) don't wear our uniform out and about in public, wether were on or off duty. So to receive the discount I'm supposed to be "in uniform". That's not fair to all first responders. Badge and or ID should be sufficient. read more

The sandwiches here are really good. My husband got the pastrami and I got a California sandwich. I love red wine vinegar on my sandwich and they put that on. I likes that the onions were thinly sliced so it was a great flavor without being overwhelming. They put the pastrami on the flat top and my husband regretted not getting the large! I definitely will be returning. The reason why I gave it 3 stars was the service. They weren't rude but, they had no energy. Holy Shit, I've NEVER had such a bad experience at any place ever. We came in on our way out of town in a truck towing a trailer, no where we could have parked. We were able to wiggle in sideways to a point we weren't blocking any road, were running in just to grab 2 sandwiches in an empty store. Okay well a very sweet younger male took our order, was going to ring us up and another woman, 20's dark hair, gauges and glasses interrupted us to ask us to move because we were in part of their curbside parking. The other employees kinda just looked at her. We asked if we could finish our order then we'd move it, on our way to pay she said 'can you move it right now'... we said as soon as we pay we would move, but she KEPT insisting we move now and was extremely rude about it. We ended up saying nevermind we'd just go somewhere else to eat. I will not support a place who is so blatantly disrespectful over something that we would have had no problem doing- just the tone of her voice, and the constantly interrupting in our order is what made it a horrible experience.
