Jersey Mikes Subs is a good, clean, friendly place to go and eat. They have seating outside and seating inside. The AC is set just perfect and in the summer it's nice and cool inside. The staff is very nice, but sometimes you can tell they get a little impatient if you take to long to figure out what you want to order. Each of my family members have their fav sandwich that they always order, as for myself my fav is the hot sandwich chipoltle chicken cheesesteak, I always ask them to make my veggies cook much longer then normal. It caramelizes them to bring out their natural sweetness. Yum yum. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes subs. read more

There are a lot of sandwich shops in Bakersfield. This is hands down my favorite! The Pastrami Ruben is sooo good if you're looking for a hot sandwich, and the turkey provolone, and Italian are great if you're looking for a cold sandwich. I love how fresh all the ingredients are. They got me hooked when I first came in and they gave my little boy a free cookie, I thought it was so sweet. Those personal touches are very important to me. Big sandwich, all bread. The bread kills any other flavor the sandwich might have. Tastes like bread. I gnawed that bread like a toothless guy gumming a peanut. I'd never heard of this place before. Great sub. Has that standard deli taste (if you walk into any NY deli), which makes me a little nostalgic. I do like this location more than the other Jersey mike's in Bakersfield because this location gives more toppings (eg, their sandwich just looks bigger and their lettuce pile is a heap while the other location gives a tiny bit of lettuce). Delicious sandwiches always fresh. Friendly staff. We have eaten a variety of sandwiches here and the best one by far is California club on rosemary bread, yummy. Local owner and supports local schools. Also has a points system to get free subs. read more

I stopped in here a few weeks ago after work and I usually get a club sandwich with ham, turkey, provolone, and the works for veggies and mustard. I was at first skeptical about my sandwich being made the jersey mike way but the addition of salt and peppers and vinegar definitely helped kick my usual sandwich up a notch. Me and my girlfriend both got a number 10 regular with everything the same on it. After noticed that 2 of the regular subs was the same size as a giant sub, I asked the lady if we could just be charged for the giant (Since both subs where the same). She told me "no" (in a very rude manor) and quickly took my money. I got charged 3 or 4 more dollars for no reason! Rude service, I will probably not be back. read more

Love Jersey Mikes and have for so long! Sadly the staff at this location made my family and I feel like we were an annoyance to them. We had a young man serve us and he sighed multiple times when asking a few questions and even shook his head at us in frustration. We were very polite so his behavior was a little confusing. I go to this store all of the time because of the convenience in the location. I either swing by after work to pick up dinner or I stop by on the weekend at the lunch rush. Either way I stick with my favorite the California club. It's always busy when i go at lunch time on the weekends but the staff gets me out fast enough for me to still have time to eat on my lunch break. I like going in at night better because it is more mellow and laid back. The last time I went a young girl with blonde or light brown hair took my order. She was the only one upfront and was very polite/helpful. I don't know where the other employees were to help her but she seemed to manage just fine. When I got to the register to ring up I had a couple questions about my shore points card and she also answered all of them. I was very pleased with my visit and love coming back for these amazing tasting sandwiches!! read more

Came in around 6pm the store was packed, the crew looked understaffed but was getting things done. Store looked nice and even though the crew was looking overwhelmed they still kept a positive attitude. I ordered Cheesesteak sandwitch, sadly i had to wait around 15mins for it be ready but I didn't get upset since I noticed a mountain of orders on the Crews Grill and only 1 person on it. Even though I waited a little while, the man who made my sandwitch personally came up to me to hand it to me and apologized for the wait. Came home and the Philly was perfect. read more

Thought I would give Jersey Mike's another try today, not remembering why I am not a fan. I ordered the Hot Pastrami Reuben on white. The store was not crowded, but they wait was ridicules and no real place to stand to wait that doesn't put you in the way or make you feel like a sore thumb. The sandwich, when it finally arrived, was packed in the little brown bags and wrapped to go like requested. When they handed it to me, I thought they must have forgot to put the meat in, it was so light. I couldn't believe I paid $8 for whatever was in the bag. So, ok. benefit of the doubt time. I ate the sandwich. It was just good. The pastrami was standard pastrami, nothing exciting. The overall sandwich was ok. Could have used about 4 more inches on it. So I went back and tried and realized why I am not a fan. No wow factor, and too pricey for what you get. It might be better than Subway, but give me a TOGO's any day. read more

Food is pretty good. Don't go at lunch time if you don't have an hour. Their system for ordering is slow. I just waited for 30 minutes to get my sandwich. It was from the grill, and they said they had a lot of phone orders they had to do first. They should have told me it would be over 25 min. when I ordered because I had to get it to go. Table were not cleaned. They just seemed very short handed and a little clueless. read more
