Man this was just the best sub experience I've ever had coming to a Jersey Mikes. From the second I walked in I was greeted kindly by the staff that made me feel welcome and ready to eat. The young man Brayden Nakken helping me with my sub was nothing short of extraordinary, his abilities to craft the pinnacle of a jersey mikes was mesmerizing to watch and honestly inspiring, it made me realize that I need to get to the top tier of sub makers at my establishment of work (Subway). Brayden should be the poster boy for how all sub makers should be. Very Disappointing! This is our go to Jersey Mike's. Normally the staff are friendly, outgoing, and helpful. I have an allergy to onions and they normally go above and beyond to ensure my sandwich is cared for properly. They wipe down the board and knife, they change their gloves, and on occasion have taken the lettuce out of a new container to ensure no cross contamination, although I have never asked them to do this. We are such frequent visitors that they know and comment to us when we haven't been in for awhile. I don't know what was the problem with the woman slicing meats today but she was very unhelpful. I identified my allergy ahead of ordering and she proceeded to look around with a puzzled look on her face. She then proceeded to tell me that she would recommend not getting anything with lettuce as they put the lettuce on the sandwiches after the onions. When I tried to tell her that has never been an issue before she doubled down and repeated what she said. She came across as someone who did not want to take the extra care to accommodate me. She came across as someone that wanted me to not get what I wanted because that made things more convenient for her. We have never been treated so poorly at this location. Stopped here mid afternoon around 2:40 to get a sandwich. Had to use the restroom. Toilet was clogged. Ordered some food at the suggestion of the guys cause I needed a hot sandwich. They suggested number 99 which is not on. The menu sounded good. While I was waiting, I looked around. Tables were dirty floor was dirty. Garbage was full. It was the afternoon one person was there and there were three or four guys working. What's going on? Can't you guys clean up. I keep ordering the BLT. I pay for extra bacon. Yet somehow it's less and less bacon. There's no bacon on their BLT normally. If you add extra bacon, you also get no bacon. Go to 5 guys. I had to wait for the steak to cook and it was still warm by the time I got home. There's not much room to wait based on the layout so I either was blocking the soda machine or the to go orders. First time at a Jersey Mike's and was thoroughly impressed. They have limited deli meat and cheeses, because they slice it fresh to order (super impressive!). There is a lot of standard, solid toppings - lettuce, tomato, pickles, pepperocinis, jalapeno, etc. The oil and vinegar is a must order for these sandwiches, which does make it somewhat challenging to eat neatly (grab lots of napkins)! The service was great, which is why they earned the full 5 stars. One thing that irritates the living sh*t out of me is showing up to a locked door. Wife decided she wanted a sub tonight, to support Jersey Mike's TV ad campaign to help feed the hungry. I looked it up in Yelp, and it said that they closed at 9 tonight. It was only 7:30, so we decided to give it a shot. Imagine my surprise when I encountered a locked door shortly before 8. The sign on the front window clearly stated that they closed at 9 also. I saw 3 (presumably) employees in the rear, doing not very much. You people just screwed yourselves with me. I drove over the hill from Castro Valley to do business with you, only to encounter this. I've been getting very frustrated lately with restaurants that appear to be hiding behind Covid excuses from the past. This is the second time I've had Jersey Mike's. We were in the mood for cheese steaks and I think this place does a pretty good job at it considering it's a chain restaurant. Most chains aren't good, but this one is pretty good (for cheese stakes at least). We ordered the kahuna in giant for about $14. It comes with extra white cheese, mushrooms, onions and peppers. The sandwich was huge. We got that and split between 2 people which was still a good amount. The cheese was melted and drippy...it was yummy. The sandwich was made fresh. You could choose white or wheat bread. This place also does fresh cold cut sandwiches. Sort of like subways, except they cut their cold meats fresh when you order, like deli style. They had chicken cheese steak sandwiches, wraps. Overall, I would come for their cheese steaks. read more

I had the displeasure of finding out that a catering order I had placed earlier this week for my team of 30 employees had not been made after arriving shortly after my scheduled pickup time today. The manager or supervisor on duty had not checked in with the counter staff prior to my coming in, and so nothing was prepared or in the process of being prepared. This was not due to a technical issue, simply a lack of preparedness and due diligence. On finding this out, he did not apologize and simply said, "We screwed up. It will be thirty minutes." It was not thirty minutes, but was instead an hour and fifteen minutes before I received the sandwiches that I had ordered. I was offered a set of 4 free sandwiches (roughly the equivalent in price to the prepaid tip that I now know better than to leave before receiving my ordered food in hand), and no refund. The 4 coupons were also initially given to me by an employee rather than the manager or supervisor on duty, and then offered by the MoD after the fact. Needless to say, I declined the free sandwich coupons both times and will not be procuring this establishment again. A shame, since I believe their quality of sandwiches is generally good and we are moving our offices to the area so placing catering orders would have been quite convenient. read more
