I REALLY wanted to like this place. It got super busy as lunch time rolled around. We ordered the prime rib loco moco w/white rice. We got FRIED rice. Rice grains were hard, almost undercooked. The prime rib was cold between the rice and the over easy egg on top. Weird. We asked for one pancake. The waiter told us we had to get 2. So we ordered the buttermilk pancakes, with haupia sauce on the SIDE. We got the macadamia nut pancakes, with nuts all over & smothered in haupia sauce. I HATE to complain, but there were so many errors to our order. Another waitress was nice enough to change out the pancakes for what originally order but scared to eat them once sent back to the kitchen. You know the horror stories. The sisig was delicious, but it wasn't enough to leave us feeling great about this place. read more

We went out for dinner not expecting a place that serves breakfast all day! My wife decided on the Sweat Bread French Toast while I decided on the Jessica's Moco special. My Moco had two patties, one was the usual hamburger steak and the second was a homemade style corned beef hash wish I really enjoyed. I added the Adobo fried rice and I am so glad I did. I stumbled across JK on Yelp and read the reviews. Majority of the reviews were 4-5 stars but there was one outlier one star review. My hubz and I like eating breakfast out so since we live in the neighborhood up the hill, we would give it a try since it was nearby. We enjoy going to Guieb Cafe, Big City Diner, Button Up, Koa Pancake House, Pancakes & Waffles, and Island Vintage, So, needless to say, we like trying new eats and supporting local family restaurants. This place branded itself as a Local Filipino American restaurant. We went this morning 9/27 at 930am. Lots of parking and place was half full, clean, good lighting, and the crowd was a mix of middle age local and Japanese seniors. We were seated right away. Good selection. As everyone mentioned, more on pricey side. Hubz got Adobo Fried Rice with Lechon Kawali, which was huge portion that really could be shared with a friend (or with spouse). Flavor was bursting and every bite you had meat! The lechon was crispy but too fatty for me. The soy/vinegar sauce and fresh tomato and onion just made it taste so good. My hubz mopped that up. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes ($11) but added bananas (+$3). I must say that of all places i've listed, their banana pancakes to me ranks up there because the pancakes were soft plus the generous amount of bananas that was incorporated into the batter. It was served nice and hot with whipped butter. Even hubz said was one. Our food came out less than 15 min after ordering, food temp was spot on. The server and Jessica (owner) came by to fill water and coffee several times. The reason for the 4 stars is because I noticed Jessica taking picture of several plates that exited the kitchen (at least 4-5 pics per plate). Never have I ever seen that before. If it is for social media, perhaps do it back of the house. I would expect that food is served directly to customer but not before a photo session first. Also, I wish healthy options are included in the breakfast menu like pandesal + papaya, or oatmeal + fruit bowl or a Filipino açaí bowl with mango, coconut, granola, banana or berries, and bilo bilo (if you go with this idea plz name it "Vangie's Açaí Special", and I'm a customer for life! lol! Our 2 plates plus 2 coffees came out to be $47. We enjoyed our food with leftovers to be eaten at lunch. As we left, the breakfast crowd started to pour in. I wish this place much success. My husband and I are always on the search for different eateries near us. He had stumbled upon Jessica's Kitchen one night while we were too lazy to cook. We arrived and it is a clean and spacious location. We ordered the Lechon Kawalu with Adobo Fried Rice and the Roast Pork with gravy. The Lechon was amazing! I would probably try something else other than the Roast Pork next time, but it was still good. Ultimately the highlight was adobo fried rice! We have an exciting new restaurant that just opened. Hours are 7am-9pm daily. It's located at Westridge Shopping Center two doors down from the Hawaii Cancer Center, and is across from Pearlridge Shopping Mall on the Macy's side. We visited for breakfast and loved the cleanness and modern vibe. Our poached eggs were cooked to perfection and as the food was coming out the kitchen, we saw their salted caramel pancakes which looked divine. Jessica is working on her liquor license but in the meantime it's BYO alcohol. They have two televisions up with more on the way. Five stars from us. Clean atmosphere and good service. We had the Longanisa breakfast; sweet(red) type Filipino sausage; grilled with nice carmelization. We also had the Tapa breakfast; thin sliced type beef; it was on the salty side; would be nice to have a vinegar sauce on the side for dipping. Very pricey!!! Paying $90 to feed 3 people is ruff on the wallet. Each dish was approximately $25-$28 but adding a substitution of fried rice to a dish is $5 more. So you're looking at $30 a person for a breakfast restaurant. Waikiki restaurants has better budget prices for breakfast. The food was okay nothing special or spectacular for me to spend the type of money there or to go back. Jessica's was so great! It's bright and clean and very inviting. As I was perusing the menu, it seemed expensive but it was so worth it as the portion sizes were huge! I ordered the corned beef hash loco moco with pork adobo fried rice and it did not disappoint! The corned beef was fresh and tasty and there was tons of delicious gravy over the fried rice. Jessica was so sweet and was very attentive to all of her customers. I also saw her wiping down the condiment jars as she was clearing another table! We will definitely be back soon! read more
