Today's visit was great! I had never been to a Jiffy Lube before today. The first come first serve service was speedy and efficient. I love that they also checked the air in my tires, washed my windshield, and topped off my coolant. I went in for an oil change and also took care of replacing my air filter. A lot of these maintenance items were things I'd been delaying for a while. So the fact that I was able to take a quick trip to my neighborhood Jiffy Lube to take care of it all makes me feel more at easy. Fast, professional, informative, friendly, reasonably priced, did I mention fast? I've been taking my car to the dealership for 10+ years, got used to the same overpriced and endlessly long wait times. I decided to go to my local Jiffy Lube this time and man, I don't know why it took me so long to do this. I was in and out in a shorter amount of time than an actual In N Out line. I stayed in my car, they answered my questions about conventional vs. synthetic oil very clearly and what my car might need versus other cars, and before I knew it they were done. Came to this same location twice. Friendly, helpful, and willing to show you what is wrong with the car the staff are willing to get your car going. Unfortunately they weren't able to remove the battery due to huge amount of corrosion built up on the battery knobs. Very quick service! I drive a Volkswagen Passat, and brought it in for the signature oil change and a tire rotation. After everything was completed, I was told that because I have a VW, they do not check things like filters. Wish I had known that before - I would have saved my money and taken it somewhere that does. They also have you sit in your car, and because it's wildly hot, one has their windows down. Today we stopped by JiffyLube as the last time we had an oil change, they didn't give us a sticker to remind us of the next time we need to change the oil. Dale helped us. He said that we actually need to change the oil now, as we are just over 5,000 miles and in cali, synthetic is only good for 5,000. I told him I didn't have time today and just needed the sticker. He said he can't just print the stocker, as it is calculated by our current mileage and when come in and have the oil changed, we will get a new sticker. We looked up our car and the manufacture's recommended miles between oil changes when using synthetic oil and found it is actually 10,000 miles! I am so disappointed with JiffyLube and feel ripped off. From the 5 visits we have had at this location, we unnecessarily changed the oil 22,000 miles early. That the equivalent of over $400. Buyer beware. Before you have your oil changed, consult your cars manufacture's recommendations. 61K - our current mileage today. 56K - 3K early 49K - 4K early 43K - 5K early 38K - not at Jiffy Lube - 5K early 33K - 5K early 28k - first oil change with JiffyLube Burbank. read more
