Had a rough experience today at Jiffy Lube, Manteca. My wife was doing errands today while I was at work. She wanted to go get an oil change at Jiffy Lube. I didn't see an issue with that but ultimately they took advantage of her lack of knowledge on cars. A typical oil change would cost about $50 these days, but they talked her into a fully synthetic oil change which "starts" at $106.99. Just to be clear, also not a big deal. That is about the running price at most locations. I was expecting her to get in and out of there for $125. No issues. Then, they recognized she had a 2012 Volkswagen and it needs a special type of high mileage synthetic oil only for European cars +$80, then said her cabin air filter was bad and needed an air filter because she was breathing in toxins, +$87, oh and your battery terminals look like they have corrosion that could lead to you being stranded, +20. Oh, here is a -$25 coupon. Needles to say, $251+ later. My concern is not that the oil change process costs too much but the way they pray on the uniformed "women" and see a potential target. The inside of the location does not advertise any of these prices, they are only for their prey. Please do not let an uninformed member of your family fall victim to a predatory business like this. When I asked for the Manager to explain the pricing to me, he said I needed to leave the property and he was going to call the police. First off Robert F. is awesome. I called first to see how long the wait was and to find out a few prices, Robert said that there was not a long wait and then he gave me a few quotes. When I got there the guys that came to the car were very nice and helpful. They took some major COVID cautions even though I said it wasn't necessary. My 7 year old son was very happy to be able to connect to the WiFi in the waiting room, the area was very clean and the bathroom was also really clean. Several times Robert came in to give me and the other 2 customers up dates on our cars. He let me know that I needed coolant added and he informed one of the men that his air filter was bad and needed replacing, but unfortunately they were out of stock so he said he would blow it out the best he could until he could have it replaced. When I cashed out he took my coupon with out any hassle and was sweet enough to double check that my "change oil soon" warning was re set. (I have driven off with out the warning re set and I felt really dumb) It is sad that customer service of this quality is no longer what we receive on a regular basis. It was a Saturday evening and the men working could have easily rushed us thru so they could get home. But the way they were working and the way they took their time to explain what they needed to do was very much appreciated. Got an oil change. Wasn't pressured for other services. They did call somethings out, but was told can be done next time or to keep it in mind for the future. Their customer service is great. Only weird thing is they marked that rugged was vacuumed, but it definitely wasn't. I have to young kids, and the mess was definitely still there . So 4 stars from me. read more

The OVERFILLED my oil. I just purchased a new car on the 13th of July. I normally change my own oil as I was taught with my Honda and never had an issue. Got a Ford and noticed that I needed to do a little extra work to change my oil. Reviews on Jiffy Lube aren't consistent, so it was hard to tell if I should go or take it to my mechanic (closed at the time). Was instantly greeted and told to pull around back and they'll take care of me. Went through with the oil change in under 40 mins, drove at least 1-2 miles and about to hit the freeway and my car starts blowing white-ish smoke out the exhaust. My new car smoking and my heart sank because I worked really hard for a good down payment. Immediately called them and they told me to come back. Drove with it blowing smoke all across the freeway with my hazard lights on and slowly getting there without my car being damaged. They instantly took my car and found out that they accidentally overfilled my oil and needed to drain it and put the correct measurements. I Was told to come back the next day and speak to the manager and see about getting a free oil change for next time or some kind of sorry discount. NO, I will not be returning. Taking my car to my mechanic to make sure nothing got disturbed or damaged. read more

Took my car in for an oil change, nothing crazy. When it was finished, i paid and got the receipt and was told what was done for me. I was told they inflated all my tires to 33 psi, even reflected on the receipt to show it was done. When i got it my car, the dashboard showed the tires were still at 28 psi. I got out and checked for myself. tires were not touched. If they can lie about something so little, im sure theyve lied about other things. Will not be coming back. read more

I love this jiffy lube! I take all 3 if my cars there and the crew is great. I had to take my Toyota on Saturday and then my wife's van in the picture Sunday. Both visits were excellent! The work is quick and professional. The manager is a great guy. He always walks over to say hello when he sees me. They have lots of coupons online and you can sign up to get more. They so my high mileage oil, new wipers, air filter and tire rotation in under an hour. I highly recommend them. read more

i came into Jiffy Lube in March (*edited bc business owner assumed i came in the last 7 days) just for an oil change, everything was fine and then after the service was completed they told me i needed to change my brakes ASAP because they were in poor shape. i had just gotten my car 7 months prior so i was a little confused by this but of course i got a little nervous since i do have a toddler to drive around. I went to another repair shop a few days ago for a second opinion and they told me my brakes still had more than half its life expectancy. Thank God i went for a second opinion because Jiffy Lube was quoting me $500+ for new brakes that i didn't even need. As a woman, it's already intimidating to go to a repair shop in fear that you will be taken advantage of & this was just unacceptable. never again. read more

I've been a long time customer. Started coming here when I got my first car back in 2016. I Went for oil change like usual but this time 2 days later I noticed water dripping from under the dashboard on the passenger side. I asked a mechanic that I know and he explained how usually that means a specific part that costs nearly $1k needs to be replaced. At this point I found it pretty odd so I took it to another shop not jiffy lube to get it done. Within the hour the shop called and told me someone(Jiffy Lube) put in a screw to block the a/c line which is what caused water to leak from under the dash. What really amazed me is how lazy and obvious it all was, which is what makes me wonder how many customers have they done this to? read more

Been going to this location for a few years for my work truck fleet service oil changes. When I went today I also need my headlight bulbs changed out because they were about to burn out as one has already done so. I brought my own bulbs I wanted to used and they said they couldn't not install customer purchased products, fine... Although last time I was the a woman in line before had brought in her own air filter to be replaced, but whatever. Then they tell me that they can't replace my bulbs because it would take to long and hold up the bay, there were no cars waiting behind me at the time. Now I get to drive with a head light out until I find time to take it to a mechanic or do it myself. Will not be returning with my work truck or personal truck for any other future services. read more

I am a loyal customer of Jiffy Lube and have used them for my oil changes at this location in Manteca since I purchased my Toyota Avalon. However, my last visit extremely turned me off to Jiffy Lube as a whole. Before my visit I did research and found two coupons one of them offered on the site and the other offered through yelp for checking in at the jiffy lube location. I used the first coupon for $10 off from the website and when I went to use my coupon from yelp, I was told by Robert that I couldn't use both. I let him know that neither coupon says that I cannot use this coupon in combination with another. He then said, "Those Yelp coupons never work anyway, they are too hard to use." I replied, " So, your telling me that your business offers a coupon on yelp and I can't use it because it's too hard to use?" Robert says, " It makes me have to open up another window and scroll all the way down etc etc." So, I said, "I just don't understand why you would offer a coupon that I can't use" He reply's, " 66.74 is your total." I have just went in on Saturday and got an oil change... that costed $109 dollars.. they have no signs posted to how much it is. When I asked they told me I would have to sign the paper first which is agreeing to the service before telling me my price. The last time I came in I only paid $60. $46.99 for labor I believe is ridiculous. They told me my engine belt was going bad. I had just had it replaced in February so it shouldn't have been bad. Went back to the place that did the engine belt and they said that there was not any problems with it. So why would Jiffy Lube try to tell me it's bad when it wasn't and was not on my paper of my service? But the worst part is the pricing. $180 dollars for a new belt, I can buy a engine belt for $40 dollars and you want to charge $120 for labor... BULLSHIT! Do not go unless you want more problems with your car or you just really want to spend an excessive amount of money that isn't worth it. Find somewhere better! read more

There's a worker in here, without a mask on, sucking on a hard candy and breathing, hard, through his mouth, leaning over the counter, rubbing on it while he's writing on some invoice. I recently had my oil changed elsewhere (out of town) and the mechanic left the oil cap off--I drove 239 mi. with oil bubbling out into my engine. To say the least I needed a little more help than just a refill! When I pulled in I was incredibly happy to be greeted by smiling faces eager to help. They offered to clean the oil off my engine after filling it back up. I appreciated that they also noticed one of my lights was out and offered to fix it. Thankfully it wasn't busy so odds were very in my favor--but regardless, kindness goes a long way and I wanted to acknowledge that. I felt taken care of, thanks you guys. read more

I usually don't leave reviews but I was so impressed with their great customer service and reasonable prices for a good quality service. Jiffy Lube helped me out with air on my tires (FREE) and a free tire inspection (my tire pressure light had come on on my Toyota Corolla. The guys were able to get me in quickly on a Saturday at around noon and they only charged me $10 to change one of my tail light bulbs that had gone out!! The customer service was excellent. They were quick and they got the job done. I specifically want to say that the manager, a nice young man who checked me in was very polite and courteous. He even walked me to my car and opened my car door at the end of my visit. I highly recommend Jiffy Lube in Manteca. All the other places I called like America's Tires and Les Schwab told me that they wouldn't be able to help me with my tail light. read more

Do not take your car here!! I took it here on Saturday because my dad takes his here and has never had any problems. Took over an hour to get done which I get, it was busy. Came back and I picked my car up and when i drove off I noticed it was making this loud humming noise and vibrating. Had my sisters husband take a look at it (who is a mechanic and I should have had him help me with my oil in the first place). We took it on a drive & he took a look under my car. Apparently they didn't properly secure my air box so it was sucking air past my air filter. I am reading reviews and seeing all these lousy mistakes these guys are making (which I should have done in the first place). But please do yourself a favor and take it to a real mechanic. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! Brought my car in for an oil change and air filter replacement. 10 min after leaving my car was jerking and couldn't accelerate past 60 mph. I bring my car back the next day and the worker says "oops looks like we forgot to connect your air filters back to the engine" ... not only did they take an hour to take off my filters cause they didn't know what they were doing but then they did a half ass job replacing it. I was at the Jiffy Lube in Sacramento and since I had some time to spare--I got an oil change while I waiting for some friends for dinner. When I left the "oil check' light was still on.... I have no idea how to reset it..arggh....drove all the way home... I work in Manteca and noticed there was a Jiffy there, I pulled in....explained my problem and within 10 seconds they solved it. Lesson learned: Don't do oil changes out of town! Do them locally---so if there is a problem you can freely go back and bark at them! But must give kudos to the crew in Manteca... Execellant truck service and customer service. The guys were alert and had smiles on their faces well before the doors were opened. Usually it takes more than 90min (on busy mornings) so I was prepared and got there early, but they got me in, checked in and kept me up to date as I waited, they quoted about 45 min, (that was when I gave over me keys), they were spot on. Fast, thorough service. I will be bringing in all my vehicles to them from now on. During check out they ask for any coupons or discounts, they are quick to provide "top off service " to those who didnt know about it, like me...as a commuter little things like that are very helpful. So I'm new to the area and I need an oil change quickly on a Sunday! I typically go to Valley Quick Lube in Tracy but they are closed on Sundays. Of course I come to yelp to find the closest and most highly rated oil change place and stumbled across Jiffy Lube in Manteca. I got a bit excited because there was a coupon on here for $20 off full synthetic oil! The guy that checked me in was very thorough and upfront with the costs and the amount of time that I would be waiting. I asked him about the coupon on Yelp and he said that could not be applied if I chose a synthetic blend oil. I have no idea which oil I typically get but he did say that the synthetic blend can be used on my car and it was cheaper, so I went with that. He showed me that they had a coupon on their website for $14 off of that oil. While waiting in their cozy little weight room watching National Geographic I overheard one of the guys checking out a lady ahead of me. She showed him her $20 off coupon and he whispered to her normally that is for full synthetic but I will give it to you! I assumed it was the same coupon I was talking about so when it was my turn to check out I showed him the $20 off coupon. He told me that it was for full synthetic oil only!! I was going to mention the previous customers coupon but I figure he didn't give it to me because I was in his type! Oh well could've been a returning customer but won't go back there again since they don't treat all customers fairly! He did show me the checklist of all the things that they do as far as top off certain fluids and vacuum your car as well as clean the windows which I thought was a good perk! But when I got into my car I realized they had not vacuumed and I had just washed it right before I got there so the windows were already clean. So that wasn't really a perk! Used these folks over the 10 years many times & never had a problem till this Saturday with my Jaguar. Came in for oil change, asked very specific questions the Jaguar Dealer in Livermore told me to ask before service. Paid $220. The first evident problem was when the mechanic drove out my car & the car cut off. He could not restart it, Left it in the middle of driveway. I got in, the car would not start. Did it again, it started, I drove off. Very quickly turned around , went back. In low gear or at a stop the car cut off. They tried to fix it 3 times. Ran diagnostics first, than the fluid leaked under the car, adjustments were needed. The car is getting towed to the Dealers on Monday to see what damage has been done . As a professional mechanic, if you do not know how to fix a particular luxury car, do not touch it. Refuse the service. Should not never guaranteed the work as they did if it is not in their ability to service the car. The mechanic literally had to google information about the car on his phone about the service, resetting the system etc....... That was never brought to my attention. Do not take your luxury car to anyone but the dealer, unless they are experts at that brand. read more

We just left this location without getting an oil change because after sitting in the waiting area for 20 minutes being ignored by staff AND the manager it was time to just leave!! This Jiffy Lube is continuously awful!!!. We have had to go back because oil was leaking after the oil change, after being ignored without service, and the wait times are always long. This location is always very slow even if they're not busy. I don't normally complain, but this has really become a problem here!! read more
