Looking for Smog locations in Northwest Las Vegas, I found the Jiffy Smog near the 215/Durango. It's right near the Texaco shop. There is plenty of parking and there is also a Chevron for gas too! Jiffy Smog is known for emissions inspection station. It's part of a network of smog check stations in Las Vegas. When I had arrived around 9:30 A.M on a Saturday morning, there was only one other customer waiting. She had informed me that their computer system wasn't working. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The team member at the Jiffy Smog said it would take approximately 15 minutes before the system would come back online.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I didn't mind waiting. There was a table outside if you didn't want to wait in your vehicle. After the system came back online, I waited another 10 minutes for the other customer, which wasn't bad at all! It was a pretty straight forward process. This site also handles DMV registration renewals as well, but I decided to opt out and just renew online. My regular smog check place was having connection issues so had to find somewhere else, and Yelp showed this as the next nearest. However, when I arrived it was hard to even turn into the gas station this is located in due to there being no dedicated spaces or area to line up for the smog check, instead folks were chaotically lined up blocking the entrance and several of the gas pumps too. In fact, at first, I didn't even realize they were waiting for the smog check, since the only clue for locating it is one really small sign which was hidden behind the line of cars. I usually come to this location for my smogs, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]the fat guy running it on 2/17 at 1:30pm has no clue how time of arrival works and demands that people that got there after others get to get serviced first.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He stated "I have no clue when you pulled up." Operated out of a small shack in the Texaco parking lot, this smog shop is slightly pricier than others but they were done within minutes!! They usually charge $27, which becomes $24 if you have one of their coupon mailers. They take credit cards too. read more

If you need a convenient place to smog your car and get it registered this is the place. $24 bucks for the smog and the guy is done in minutes. The guy who helped me even remembered me from last time and we made small talk to at least I was entertained while he worked on my car. They're only able to really do 1 car at a time because the business is a small shack to the side of a gas station so choose your timing carefully. The technician even told me that on average they can do 40+ cars a day. So be mindful of how hard they work and bring a few bucks for their tip jar. And if you're feeling up for it they'll even do your registration there. Next year around registration time I'll swing by and get gas and if the place is empty pull up and get the job done. I've been coming to this location for the past 15+ years. Up until the last two days I've had great experiences with this Durango location. I arrived yesterday before 5 PM. First I went inside the store for refreshments while the attendant was helping another customer. Once back outside I saw the attendant closing the door to his little shack. I pointed to my car, he said he was done for the day. I asked him what the time was, 4:55 was his reply. LIE it was actually 4:53 or earlier. I asked what the hours are, 9-5 was his reply and he was gone. Today I went down arriving around 2 PM, only to find the shack door closed, lane blocked off with a note saying he was at lunch until 3! Wow I want that job! The phone number listed on the door does not work, at least no one answers and you can't leave a message..... must be his number! Work ethics are very poor. read more

Pulled up, hopped out, waited in sequestered area and had the smog check done in about 5 mins, $27. Tech was very cognizant of social distancing rules and was very professional. I went here just last week for a smog check before updating my registration for my car. I had my baby with me and the technician was very nice and considerate. There were a few people ahead of me, but it went by very quickly. It also ended up being cheaper than I had anticipated which was a great surprise! This morning I pulled up to this business only to be greeted by an unfriendly guy who barked at me 'what's your zip code?'. There was no 'Hello', 'How are you?', 'How can I help you?' He was keeping 6+ feet away from my vehicle but as a result he couldn't seem to understand me when I spoke fluent English to him. I asked him if he price matched other competitors coupons and he said he did not (despite the fact that I had been told by another Jiffy Smog store that they did price match). Would never recommend coming to this place. Customer service is not their priority. I drove up and waited in line while a car finished their smog. I told the smog tech that I wasn't sure if my car could be smogged because I wasn't sure if the necessary car sensors had turned back on after recently replacing the battery in my car. The guy says he'll check and then tells me the sensors still haven't turned on and charges me $19. I was surprised because he didn't even perform a smog check because my sensors weren't on in order to perform the check. The guy says he has to charge for every test and that there are no free retests. I would avoid coming to this place since they will charge you just to turn on their machine. I'd recommend finding a place that cares about their customers and doesn't try to nickel and dime them. Every year, like clockwork, the smog check sneaks up on you. Every year, I take my vehicle to Jiffy Smog. The service is fast and I normally do not have to wait long to get service. The location could be a little better as there are not many places to park. So, if there is a long line you will struggle in a mess of cars and fight with the regular gas station traffic. Overall, they do what they need to so you can comply with DMV requirements. You can even pay for your DMV fees here if you would like. Make sure your car is ready for a smog check by properly maintaining it through the year. read more

Rude tech. Plain and simple. I pulled up and the tech had those place holders they put behind your wheels in the middle of the lane so naturally I ran one of them over. Got out apologize for doing so. This person proceeded to yell at me saying verbatim "how the f*** do miss something red in this lane". To which I responded "it shouldn't be in the middle of the lane I need to park in" also told him to keep his work area clean as common courtesy. Extremely volatile man. Got my smog and left. Rushed from work to get there before close got there with 10 minutes to spare. A vehicle was already being tested. No big deal right? Tech comes around approached my vehicle and said after this car the system automatically goes into its 3 day calibration so can't do your test... gee thanks bro. On the bright side found Sun Valley Automotive bear by on Rancho the staff was very friendly late hours and they took the vehicle straight back and did the test in what felt like 5 minutes.
