We are regulars at this place and have always had good customer service. This past Saturday went in to pick up our order and decided to eat at the restaurant. We wanted to make sure we had time to eat there before they closed. We asked the girl behind the counter, who appeared to be busy on her phone, three times what time they closed. Finally she answered "10" in an angry tone of voice. After we finished eating, I went to fill my soda cup and accidently spilled a bit on the floor. I did not want anyone to slip. I then tried to get the attention of the girl (we were told her name is Paulina) working behind the counter. I was going to ask her for some paper towels so I could dry the floor myself. I said "excuse me, I spilled a bit of soda" no eye contact or response from Paulina. Again I said "excuse me, I spilled a bit of soda on the floor". Paulina then gave me a death ray look and said "I know!" My husband over heard and asked her if she was angry at someone. Paulina answered "no" then she dissapeared by going into the bathroom. We were shocked by her attitude and frankly, disrepectful behavior. My husband asked the cook "what is wrong with her, why are we being treated this way, is she angry at something?" and he said that is the way she is with all the customers. All we were trying to do was avoid an accident. Today, I called the restaurant to try and speak to a manager and spoke to someone named Jose. I asked him if it was possible to speak to the manager. Jose said that the manager does not have a regular schedule or a contact number. He asked why I wanted to speak to the manager. I told him that I had a complaint regarding rudeness and bad customer service. He became extremely rude and said "what are you going to do about it?" then he said he did not have time to talk to me and hung up on me. Needless to say we won't be going back there, ever! This place is terrible. Ordered a carnitas quesadilla and it was a joke. Carnitas so overcooked you couldn't even chew it. No flavor and puddle of grease all over it. Third they seem to find ways of unchanging for every little thing (doesn't happen at other locations. Spreading some love for Jilberto's on Margarita and Pauba. Had another lunch today with the other half. She went to her favorite without hesitation: The carne asada burrito which is simply good, flavorful chopped steak, guacamole and pico de gallo inside. This meal is so perfect in her opinion, she won't even put salsa on it from the salsa bar. She gave me a bite and I had to agree, thumbs us! I wanted something different today since I'm on a low carb diet. They have the perfect meal for me, the salad with grilled chicken (ensalata con pollo). Chopped lettuce, onions, tomatoes and chicken and they offered some ranch dressing on the side so I tried that, too. I think they make their ranch with sour cream! It was thicker than most and had a bit of tang. I really liked it! The salad was fresh and crisp, the onions were good but next time I'd ask if maybe they could add them to the chicken meat on the grill for maybe a couple of minutes to get a little browning action. There is one thing I'm going to mention and while it's not a good thing it's not something that would lower my overall rating. Two people working today at lunch time with a semi steady flow of customers is not enough. They really needed a third person. Doesn't look like much when you drive past, but stop in anytime for their all day breakfast burritos and you won't be disappointed. The Machaca is my personal favorite! There are three Jilbertos within a 3 mile radius of each other. Of the three, I'd say this one gets it done best. Everything was very tasty and heartily served! Beans are creamy and flavorful, rice with just the right amount of spices, Chile verde has a good kick and served with two fresh ginormous flour tortillas! And my picky eating daughter devoured her carne asada taco (only able to eat one of the two because of how well served they are). Overall I've had good experiences here and it's become my go to neighborhood taco shop. The burritos are always above average, rarely exceptional, and the salsas are all good. My only complaint might be that they can be a bit slow to get orders out most days but it's always fresh so can't complain too much, I just don't recommend it for a quick 30 minute lunch. read more

Came here yesterday to meet my boyfriend for lunch. I love their food, especially their bean tostadas and their rolled tacos however, if you want to enjoy your meal stress free I suggest not to come on a Wednesday during lunch when the kiddos are out of school early. There were a handful of I believe to be middle schoolers, they seemed a little young and immature to be high schoolers but nonetheless these kids were disruptive, annoying and had rude behaviour. They kept going in and out of the restroom, jumped around like they were on speed and then most of them went back and forth to the condiment table to grab handfuls of salt packets. Not sure what type of experiment they were concocting but after watching them make several trips to grab salt packets I had seen enough. I spoke to the girl at the cash register to inform her of what was going on, who by the way seemed totally oblivious this was happening. Not to mention two of the boys were picking up with their fingers (not the tongs) the sliced pickled carrots and eating them while standing in front of the assorted salsa...totally unsanitary! Finally the cashier went over and said something to the "children". After that some started to clean up their mess and they started to leave, so I thought. They then proceeded to come in and out of the restaurant several times. WTH!!! Whose kids are these??? Parents do you know where your kids are during 1/2 day Wednesday's? I'll tell you where...acting like untamed animals at the Jilbertos on Margarita and Pauba that's where they are! Jilbertos you get 2 stars because I still like your food. Definitely had a foodgasm eating. Best California burrito in the IE. I had a few beers in me when I ate it so my opinion may be alittle gassed up but I've eaten probably 300 California burritos in my life & there's is definitely amount the the top 5 best. Meat is extremely flavorful & tender. They put the perfect amount of pico, sour cream & guacamole. Every bite had all ingredients in it. The tortilla is soft chewy & tasty. This is an odd review... Great food and I normally have NO issues when I call an order in, but an hour wait after being told it would be 13 minutes isn't cool.
