    Breakfast! Thursday May 21, 2026
    Tod K.

Thursday May 21, 2026 I have been here many times before throughout the years. Plus, where I work Diagnostic Laboratory Services orders food from here for our quarterly monthly meetings. We will have a meeting Thursday May 28 coming up soon. Like next week already. Lol. Service is fast and friendly. Food is always good no matter what you decide on ordering. I pretty much tried everything on their menu already. Ambiance is casual and comfortable if you decide to eat inside here for like 8 people?? I ate inside before. Today, I had to take it to go. I will be back again. Support local businesses.

Breakfast plate lunch joint close to airport serving up local style plates. Corn beef hash which they make homemade with over easy eggs is my go to. I gotta come back and try the other plates next time! Delicious

I've been stopping at the local family run business for years. I love their convenient location close to the airport, free parking and delicious home cooked breakfast made to order on da grill! The corn beef hash pattie breakfast with eggs perfectly made over easy, bacon or sausage links and a generous portion of fried rice make this my breakfast of choice when I am HUNGRY! The friendly aloha service here makes you feel like family! Ambiance is family style with priceless photos on the wall and kindness in every corner. Five Fabulous Stars for bringing out that special local vibe that says: Aloha! Come on in and Bee Happy!

For what seems like forever, I have been searching for a replica of the perfect fried egg sandwich that I used to get at the Great Grill in Burbank. This place, Joe's Express Grill, doesn't exactly have this on their menu, but I asked them if they could make it for me and they did. Perfectly! And they were so friendly and the price was so incredibly reasonable. If you are passing through the area and are looking for breakfast or lunch, check it out.

Reasonably priced. Pretty darn good food for a little hole in the wall. Lots of options. Service was excellent. Glad we tried this place out.

Small spot off Nimitz, plenty of free parking. Walked in and was greeted by a nice woman at the counter. Place is really small with only 4 tables, but they put it all in to go boxes - so we brought ours home. They were relatively busy on a Friday morning, and could tell it was a lot of regulars. Now I understand why! Affordable prices and large portions! I got the Joe Moco - Gravy was savory, not too heavy. Corned beef was tender and well seasoned. Fried rice wasn't greasy, everything cooked perfectly, and bacon was lovely. I even gave my dogs a piece and they approve. My mom had the spinach omelette and she also raved about how delicious it was. She didn't want white rice so she got 2 pieces of wheat toast instead.

First time here. Friendly service. Seems to have a lot of regulars which is always a good sign. Small dining area but we took our food to go so didn't really matter. Our wait for our food wasn't that bad either, maybe 15-20 mins? Will need to come back and try some other things!

Located near HNL, Joe's Grill Express could be a worthwhile stop if you're in the area and could use a breakfast platter. Any other situation, probably a pass as there are better options further out from the airport. The breakfast and loco moco was tasty but the garlic shrimp was plain and didn't have mich garlic butter.

Amazing service, always a smile and happy fun vibes! Saturday morning after doing labs, so of course we were hangry. We came and it was Busy but we were lucky to score seats just in time for us. No matter how crowded it was still good. We had the Western Omelet and I had the pork links w/over easy and both were w/fried rice, soo good! Had nice hot coffee too. Mahalo Joe's Grill! We'll see you guys again!

Food is always great at Joe's. A no nonsense breakfast and plate lunch place for the working man (& woman). Service is fast and efficient, as always. The ambiance is no nonsense also. Either take out or dine in. Prices are reasonable and affordable.

When the day comes to leave the island, my Dad always requests local food. Living in Oahu, it's something I took for granted but now crave occasionally in California. Knowing this, my unnie Li Y. took us to a local spot near the airport--Joe's Grill Express. This is a very small local joint. Lots of locals and occasional tourists stop in for a quick meal. We came for breakfast on Monday and many customers came in and out. The restaurant is small and can get warm (no AC), a few tables are scattered so it's mostly communal seating. The workers were all so kind, checking in on us and accommodating us! Brittany was so sweet and we had fun talking story with her. Our food came out hot and fast. My Dad, a loco moco lover, had the Mini Loco Moco. Unnie had an omelet and got us Ube French Toast to share. I got the Mini Plate with spam and over-easy eggs. I upgraded to fried rice. Honestly, it tasted how it should. Crispy and savory spam, nice runny eggs, and hearty fried rice. Mini portions are always enough for two meals--I was so full but couldn't finish everything. The Ube French Toast was good, light on the ube, sweet, and moist bread. We enjoyed it all. Joe's Grill Express is a convention place for local food near the airport. I recommend their breakfast food but portions are big! Thanks unnie for treating me, found the items to be affordable. Wouldn't mind coming back when I'm back on the island. Their restaurant is off Nimitz in a small strip mall. Parking available in the shared plaza lot.

Who woulda thunk that great food is in an airport industrial area? I was headed to the gas station near the car rental return, having ended a short business trip on Oahu. On the way there, I decided to take a spin in the Airport Commercial Center where one of my all-time favorite restaurants once stood. Joe's Grill Express piqued my interest, so I went inside. So many choices! I was torn, but luckily you can get a combo plate and choose two dishes from a list. The desserts looked yummy, but I couldn't inhale all of that before returning my car and getting to my gate. Opted for the chicken cutlets (yummy brown gravy!) and furikake chicken. Generous portions, friendly family-owned business. The food is extra delicious when you support local. They open early, so they close early. A few tables and chairs inside, but don't expect to bring a big group here. Clean, delicious, friendly and simple.

I've been hearing about Joe's Grill for a while so it was a must stop while I was in the area. It's located off Nimitz close to the airport. Plenty of parking in a small strip mall location. The menu is extensive. They offer daily specials and tons of local and international options. I was here for some breakfast. It's just a small business with a few tables. Take out is what I was here for. Staff were super friendly and helped make some suggestions. I ordered the bangus special. Fried milkfish with eggs and garlic rice. The fish was crispy and flavorful. The rice and egg complimented the Filipino breakfast. Quite the filling breakfast. Prices were affordable and portion was generous. I'll definitely be back to try other food items. Thank you Joe's.

We started with a shrimp elote special and the chicken liver mousse. The shrimp elote was unique and flavorful. The mousse was my favorite thing of the night. So rich and creamy and the cherry marmalade paired so well with it. Love that they provided ample bread to go with it. I had to try the la chancla cocktail - the mayo washed mezcal caught my eye. It sounds a little strange but it was very good and was quite strong. For entrees we got the carbonara and zucchini lemon risotto. The carbonara was really rich and the Portuguese sausage added a nice touch. Looking at pictures of it beforehand I was worried the portion size would be small but it's served on a large bowl making the portion look smaller than it is. The risotto had a refreshing tangy sweetness from the lemon. Both have the option of adding on crispy prosciutto for $4. We didn't but saw some that other people ordered and it looked amazing - next time! One of the servers there provided a great recommendation with a wine pairing for the carbonara and let me try a rose before committing. It wasn't something I would normally have chosen but it worked well and I'm grateful for his helpfulness.

The combination of brick and reclaimed wood, the open kitchen, lush plant wall, historic Chinatown setting, and abundance of natural light created such a unique and inviting ambiance. The bar's creative cocktails and artisanal flair were also a wonderful complement to our meal. A special thank you to our server, Christi S. Had a glass of wine and baby had watered down lemonade. Her drinks were put in plastic cups with covers and those horrible paper straws. Eyes always bigger than my stomach, we ordered: - Cornbread - when i grabbed it I thought would be super dense but really wasn't. I thought it was very corny and tasty. Lightly toasted. Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. Baby ate some but was not really thrilled about it. I loved it. - Scallop and Mushroom Risotto - YUM. Delish. Baby liked it too. So much leftovers of everything. Realized when we ate it for leftovers it was all pretty oily and needed a pinch of salt. But otherwise great. Staff really nice and helpful. Love that the place is spread out and open. Bathrooms are not assigned which I'm sure can get gross, but is great to not have to wait for just the women's. There is a big stall which was perf since baby is potty training and had to go #1 and #2! Only thing missing was a hook to hang my purse and her bag. Great dinner...but if anyone is listening...bring back the shrimp and grits!!!

I requested for a little bit more of the jam but was given just balsamic glaze... My friend said her scallop risotto was watery and not the same as the last time she went. My bfs prime rib was okay.
