what we actually needed, a quick fix on sprinkler line, they just put a cap on it

We had a deeply frustrating and costly experience with John Moore, and I would strongly caution anyone before trusting their diagnosis. We contacted them because we noticed a persistent wet patch in our yard and suspected an underground leak. Their team came out, assessed the situation, and told us it was a sewer line issue. Based entirely on their professional recommendation, we approved $11,000 in sewer repairs. The problem was never resolved. It turns out the issue we originally called about had nothing to do with the sewer. A later visit identified the actual cause: a leaking sprinkler line. The fix? Capping the line, a quick, simple repair that cost $185 and immediately stopped the wet area. Let that sink in: $11,000 vs. $185. The photos make this even more concerning: * The first image shows the extensive digging done by John Moore to "fix" the sewer line, leaving our yard torn up and in poor condition. * The second and third images show the actual issue weeks after -- a small sprinkler line leak that required minimal work and was resolved in minutes. Even more troubling, we learned after the fact that John Moore does not handle sprinkler systems, yet this possibility was never identified or ruled out before recommending thousands of dollars in repairs. Additionally, during the backfilling process, debris including bricks was thrown into the trench, and our main water line was damaged as a result, creating a flood and further issues When we raised this issue and asked for a resolution, we were ultimately told by Jacob the plumber as well as Yanis and Brice at the customer care, they do not owe us anything. We trusted their expertise and made a major financial decision based on their diagnosis. Instead, we were left with an unnecessary $11,000 expense and a damaged yard -- all for a problem that was fixed for $185. If you are dealing with any kind of underground leak, do yourself a favor don't call John Moore and get multiple opinions before moving forward!

They charged me $750 to install a cheap garbage disposal. No itemized bill. No receipt. Avoid this company.

Ask the Community - John Moore Services

Has anyone on this forum used them to repipe their whole house system, horizontals and verticals? If "yes," did they, also, do the Sheetrock repair? If "yes," was it satisfactory? How did their price compare with other large vendors?

It was one of Ruben's team members that came over and recommended the proper protocol in order to have the most efficient HVAc.

He suggested a…read moretakedown of the entire system from the ceiling to determine if there was a Freon leak (found none, but charged me $500 without a receipt). He then proceeded to the roof (where the compressor is) and determined that the capacitor is bad (changed). He also said that there is a leak, as the Freon was empty. We had set the next day for his next visit to fill the system with Freon and add a dye (a leak detector), but did not show up after multiple calls. Got a different company for a recheck. The Freon was full, and there was a fuse removal/disconnect (in the control box next to the compressor) that was obviously done by Ruben (no one touched the system since the original installation). And guess what: the system fired up once the fuse was connected, and started cooling like a charm. In summary: Ruben obviously tampered with the power supply to make it look as if the system was dead. There was no need for take down of the coil cover to check for leaks, there was no leak, and the Freon was full. The guy is a liar and a fraud. Don't let him get close to your house. If there was an option for negative stars, I would give him - minus 10.
