There seems to be different cakes available daily - my friends and i tried 4 cakes and we enjoyed the red apple the most. While every single cake had its own personality, every one tasted different, so they were all special in their own way. Price point was roughly $10 per piece. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and by the time we got there around 3pm, most of their pastries were already sold out. The cashier said the ideal time to go is around 12-1pm so go early if you want to get their signature pastries. The cafe and aesthetics are super cute, but it is quite pricey. Came on a weekend and of course it was packed with a lot of their most popular cakes almost out of stock. The cafe specializes in the most beautiful geometrically shaped cakes that are 100% instagrammable. Luckily there was one apple shaped one left! I was a little worried that it was going to be over-hyped, but the taste was as good as it looked! The outer layer was light and fluffy cheesecake with an interior apple and chocolate nutty filling. Of course it is pricey (almost $10 for most of the desserts) but it's expected given the unique presentation. The seating is a little tight especially on the weekend, but definitely worth the wait to find a spot and enjoy the dessert there. Fantastic dessert place! As soon as I walked into the bakery, the vibrant desserts grabbed my attention and drew me to the counter. There were so many options I didn't know what to pick! My friends and I picked the Chef's Special, the Geometric Apple, and the Autumn Leaf. The Chef's Special was a nice surprise - with a sweet taste that was cut with berry flavors. A great balance of tartness and sweetness. The Autumn Leaf was a pumpkin spiced and coffee mixed dessert. I personally loved the mousse on this one. Probably the best coffee mousse I've ever had. The Geometric Apple is my favorite out of the 3. The cheesecake mousse is AMAZING and it goes so well with everything inside - the Apple confit, caramel, and chocolate sponge. For drinks, I found that the coffee drinks my friends and I got were a better compliment to the desserts than tea. There's plenty of seating outside, and an additional floor downstairs. I'm shook by the low reviews on Jonquil's lol. My and my gfs went and we thought it was good. Ive been trying to come here for a while but I can't wake up early enough to make the trek. They sell out by ~1PM or so... go at like ~11AM. You know those dessert places that have beautifully made stuff but tastes like booty? Me too. That's what I was hoping NOT to happen when I swiped my card and it was $9.25 for one dessert. The majority of each cake is mousse, so if you don't like mousse, just turn away now LMFAO. I really liked how light each of the mousse was but still flavorful. The pentagon was a rich, creamy chocolate. Exotic spheres had such a strong and refreshing mango taste that I was surprised since usually no one does mango mousse well. Apple Caramel was literally an apple pie in mousse form. Inside each pastry also had something crunchy and a piece of cake, which I thought was great for texture. The latte was pretty light but smooth. The matcha rose latte was good and you could really taste both flavors (without the rose making the drink taste like a bathroom) , again which is hard for a lot of 2 to get right on the rose flavor. read more

The number of customers did not slow down the service. They seem to have a very good system going. Much to their credit, the customer service was also excellent. I was a bit indecisive because of all the beautiful pastries. The gentlemen taking my order was patient and friendly. He suggested the Honey Pear. I am always on the hunt for a great cortado. Jonquil served a perfect cortado. The temperature was spot on and it looked appealing. The best part is that the cortado perfectly complemented my Honey Pear pastry. The pastries are low in sugar and are delicious. The texture, the flavors and especially the perfect shapes make the pastries a piece of art. I felt bad cutting into the pastry for the first bite. I stopped by on a Saturday morning with some friends while shopping in Back Bay and decided on the Green Apple. It was a brownie on the bottom, had apples in the middle, and made mostly of molded cheesecake. The little stem was a piped piece of chocolate. They have plenty of seating and a full menu of drinks. This is the cutest little place with the coolest desserts I've ever eaten! We loved it so much that we came back twice in the same day while we were visiting Boston! Haha. The owner makes 3D printed molds for her desserts, and they're decorated so beautifully! The attention to detail is remarkable. It's so fun to eat something that looks as cool as these do! We tried the chocolate (pink), pear (yellow sphere), and passionfruit mango (yellow sphere cube). They were all incredibly unique and delicious. Inside there are layers of cake, mousse, and fruit. To preface: this is only a review of their 3D-printed artisan cakes. My wife surprised me for my birthday and I was in total disbelief at the level of detail in the construction of the cakes - just works of art by themselves. You'll be torturing yourself not to cut into it and when you do, it might be a conundrum of where and how the first cut should look like. Just as they were presented as pristinely as a 3D-printed cake can be, they tasted just as decadent and balanced. One was ganache with hazelnut and the other was a passionfruit with other citrus flavors, so a good contrast. For these full-size cakes, you need to pre-order ahead of time so that they have ample time to create them. This modern chic cafe & bakery is just steps away from our rental, and we have already visited twice. They have a solid coffee menu, inluding pour overs and a Spanish latte. I don't see these on menus often, so this was a real treat! Both beverages were made perfectly. The staff are kind and knowledgeable, and the ambiance is inviting. I've been wanting to try their 3D cakes since it opened on Newbury Street last year, but never really got the chance to because they would always sell out before I made it there. I finally got the chance to try them today and I would say that while they are very aesthetically pleasing, they are definitely not worth $8.75 each. I got the apple caramel and new cherry cakes and didn't finish either one. The apple caramel had a lot of cream cheese and not enough of the actual apple/caramel parts, which was pretty unsatisfying. The new cherry one was slightly better (as in it had less cream cheese) but I noticed that there were little crunchy bits in the cake (I went back to look at their menu and it was just called 'crunch,' whatever that means). It wasn't amazing and I think the cakes definitely look better than they taste, which is quite disappointing. Jonquils is honestly more for the aesthetics than anything. This place would definitely not be my go-to dessert place just because it was so expensive and not even that great quality. I would encourage others to maybe try it out once or twice since the little cakes look so unique and cute but there are better places that sell yummier desserts. read more

They have a small selection of outdoor and indoor (2 floors) seating. - It can get quite crowded especially during weekends.
