I used the Yelp app and found out this place, which was just 2 blocks away from my office. It was after 2:30 pm, and most lunch places were closed, but it was still open. It's at the entrance of the parking garage. I passed by so many times, but never paid attention to it. Its location is convenient for people who work in downtown area. I ordered chicken teriyaki and BiBimBap to go. The sign said that we could pick 5 vegetable sides, but in fact they gave all kinds of vegetables unless we made a special request. They began to cook after I placed my order. The amount of food for each box was just perfect for a person, not too much not too little. Both teriyaki and BiBimBap were very delicious. They also included miso soup. Their cashier was very friendly and courteous. Very good service! I am happy to return to buy more bentos. read more

I love this place for lunch. Ive tried their lunch specials on tuesday wednesday and thursday as well as the salmon poke bowl so ill be reviewing that stuff Tuesday - their take on a locomoco is pretty accurate. A patty with rice and a fried egg with two sides of your choice. The only thing missing was the gravy which was substituted with their i think its like a type of spicy mayo which fit well but wasnt what i was expecting. Overall still pleasant to have. Wednesday - chicken katsu with curry and two sides of your choice (all specials have 2 sides of choice if you haven't noticed). The katsu was amazing and the rice with it was splendid. The sauce cup could use a little bit more sauce but it was just about right. The problem with the curry is that its more watery then I would prefer but the flavors are there. Thursday - personally my favorite day is the spicy pork with kimchi friend rice. And you guessed it... two sides! Amazing stuff. The pork is perfect and not too spicy at all. Kimchi fried rice isnt overwhelmed with kimchi or gochuchang. Just the perfect amount of everything for lunch. Salmon poke bowl - i ordered this with easy on the greens because im not the biggest fan of greens but they put in a perfect amount so that im still trying to stay relatively healthy. I devoured that bowl so easily and it filled me up to where i wasnt full but i was no longer looking for food. That perfect state of satisfied. I didnt touch the ginger which i forgot to tell them to dismiss. Overall i would literally come here everyday for lunch if i could but my work has moved me a little further away. The staffing is great they look like a family owned business and they even remember what I like on which days! They probably remember me as that asian security guy. Haha read more

Looks like this place is under new ownership and a new name. Formerly the "Ricenroll". I never went under the old regime, but I was satisfied with the 2 visits I've already had here! Small little Mom & Pop sushi/teriyaki/bibimbap place with very limited seating but pretty quick service and a decent variety. The first time I had the kimchi fried rice and spicy pork special. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to allow me to substitute the salad for a cali roll. The second time I got the "sushi bento" which consisted of spicy tuna roll, salmon/tuna nigiri, and a bowl of miso. Everything was tasty. I'll definitely be back. It's a quick walk from the office, clean inside, and both service and food were good. read more

Ordered the white meat chicken teriyaki combo with gyoza and California roll. It was odd and in a town (and state) that is teriyaki crazy, it was surprisingly poor quality. The white meat was not chicken breast chunks, but odd slices, sort of like thick slices of turkey sandwich meat--it was warm but had no grill marks on it. The California roll, well, while I didn't expect perfection I also didn't expect it to taste like tuna-salad. The gyoza were greasy and not filled with much, but acceptable. I'm surprised that the chicken, at least, wasn't a recognizable piece of grilled chicken. Teriyaki is incredibly popular and it's easy to come by much better, without a lot of searching around or effort. Service was quick and the place was clean, but for the food, it's not hard to do better. Won't be back. read more

I was excited about this place. With all the people standing in the line I thought it had to be good. It is reasonably priced for lunch. I ordered the chicken breast teriyaki with a salad and gyoza sides. The teriyaki was was SO dry. It was not good. There was hardly any teriyaki on it. The gyoza was alright but not great. The rice was fine I guess. I diddn't love what I got but maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I would be willing to try it again and get something different. read more

The chicken is flavorful and tender, never burnt, and you can choose two free sides to go with it. Although I never understood why you can't choose two sides of californian rolls. I've actually asked them about this, their answer was basically - "you can't choose double cali as free sides because you can't choose double cali as free sides without paying extra." I have been here several times; I tried two of their daily specials: pork katsu and spicy pork kimchi fried rice. Pork katsu is not bad but nothing memorable. Now onto spicy pork kimchi fried rice!! I HIGHLY recommend this Thursday special. For $11, the portion is good size and taste really good. Good portion of fried rice to pork ratio. The pork could use a little more heat but I understand the majority of peeps can't handle it. So I always add more chili. The only thing I hope for is for it to have a sunny side eggs on top of the pork, yellow yolk running down those soft pork. If you only have $11 and can't eat out often during lunch, I recommend this place. I always double the beans but this is hit or miss; sometimes they are very flavorful and sometimes they are over cooked or old as in stringy and size are not consistent. read more

I have tried Joy Bento and I am addicted. Their food is the best! It tastes fresh and light but filling. They have great spicy teriyaki chicken, and the side salad is amazing. I do not know what they put in the dressing, but they should bottle it. The people that run the place are always really friendly and they quickly learned my name and greet me by name every time and usually already know what I am going to get. Cheap and delicious! This is a great place to stop by for lunch. I work about a block away and this place always have a long line during lunch break, which means it has to be good, right? It's this tiny shop and there isn't a place to eat in it. That's not bad, as there are plenty of other public places around that you can eat your lunch at. The owner is Korean and she's really nice. The menu has bibimbap options and california rolls. I got the spicy/regular chicken combo with a milk tea. You might have to wait awhile during lunch because of how long the line is, most likely around 15-20 minutes depending when you arrive. Food's pretty good sized quantities and you get to choose the two sides (banchans!). Don't bother getting the milk tea. It's watery and not milk tea like at all. But less than $10 for lunch is a great deal around this area! read more

I have ordered the bulgogi beef teriyaki twice now and it's so good and so cheap! The fact it comes with two sides in addition to rice is AMAZING. So much food for under $10. I had their chicken karrage special and it was solid! They provided a creamy orange dipping sauce and two sides of my choice plus plenty of rice for a little under $10. I chose gyoza and korean potato salad for my sides, the potato salad was pleasant and the gyoza was ok, i def have had better. I would love to come back and try their teriyaki or chicken katsu, it is more expensive than happy teriyaki down the street however I believe the quality is higher. read more

Can't say enough good things about this location and owners. I'm very particular where I purchase my sushi and this place lives up to my standards. There's always the teriyaki fall back which is far better than a stop and go teriyaki's we are all familiar with. This place is the bomb. I come here for lunch almost every day. Their salmon teriyaki is cooked perfectly every time and runs you around $8 with two sides. Their specials are also always delicious. The chicken yakisoba is delicious and portions are big enough for me to eat half for lunch and half for dinner. I'm also a huge fan of their California rolls. Downtown teriyaki is very underwhelming. This is excellent compared to the competition in the surrounding area...good compared to the best teriyaki has to offer.
