I don't feel like sending it back to only wait more. My wife's veggie omelette looked good but was bland even though it said it had herbs, didn't taste any or see any. The waitress did give us a complimentary bag or chips and salsa to go which was very good; high props on the salsa. We were in town for a wedding and this place stood out cuz it has the same initials as my fiancé. I love good old fashioned diners, so I was game. It definitely has an old school feel from the music to the furniture to the wall art. Service is very attentive and nice. Prices are reasonable for a sit down restaurant. We shared both the chicken philly melt with a side salad and the croissant French toast with home potatoes. Sides were huge and delicious. French toast was good, but too small of a serving. Chicken philly melt was dry. Also, my receipt said turkey even though that wasn't an option on the menu. Confusing and unfortunate. We ate here on a Thursday morning. The food was very good. I had the 8 oz steak and eggs. The steak was cooked perfectly medium. My husband had the hash and eggs. The place is very clean and bright and the staff is friendly and attentive. Our waitress, Flora, was very nice. All our food came out hot, and at one time. We saw a burger and fries go by us, and it looked fantastic. Maybe next time. The whole meal with coffee and ice tea was only $41. Which in today's market, very reasonable. Eat here!! read more

SO DISAPPOINTED! Discovered this place 6-8 months ago and have been semi-regulars....until now. For our second time in less than 2 weeks, we entered with high hopes....even brought a friend from out of town. It was not pleasant. Walked in and was not even greeted by the staff sitting around the bar area. They were too busy talking among themselves. There were no other customers there (9am on a Wednesday the place is usually hopping). Service was horrible. They sent a young boy over to take our drink order. In a bit, one of the girls came and took our order, then right back to the chat with the other employees. When the food got there (it looked thrown on the plate, staff had to be reminded of who had what and what was still missing), they scurried right back as if they might have missed some of their conversation. We had to ask them to turn down their music, as it was difficult to talk over (remember, we were still the only table at that point). 2orders of the eggs were undercooked... The old staff was friendly, personable and caring of their patrons (the place is usually packed). There has been no responsible management visible there either of the last 2 times we have been there. We will go back 1 more time and if we see the same ramshackle crew, we will WALLK OUT and go to ANY OF THE MANY BREAKFAST RESTAURANTS VYING FOR OUR BUSINESS. It pains me to write a review about a restaurant and group of people who my family and I have been visiting for the past 6 years, but after this last weekends performance it deserves to be noted so customers in the future hopefully do not have to deal with the same issues, or at least have been warned before going in. Saturday morning at about 11, floor is noticeably understaffed and the collective mood of employees was not great. We were seated at the empty bar top and were greeted by the waitress. Everything up until this point was fine as we received our waters in a timely manner and were able to order our food before it became too busy in the restaurant. However, as soon as the orders went in this is when things began to turn. First thing I noticed was that there were more than 8 plates under the heat lamps waiting to be served, while 2 hostesses talked and ignored the backup of dishes. Clearly frustrated, the cooks began to get the attention of all the staff members who weren't occupied to help them run the food. When we finally received our food, we noticed a very foul smell coming from my Steak. After cutting and smelling the inside and also having someone else try a sample, we both agreed that the steak had become bad from poor storage methods. After a few minutes, the waitress returned and asked if everything was okay as I was sitting with nothing being eaten on my plate. I discussed the situation, with the waitress beginning to speak with another coworker while I was explaining what I wanted in replacement for the steak. After waiting for my replacement meal, the server brought out my plate clearly frustrated about everything that was going on. To my expectations, the waitress brought me a plate that I hadn't ordered but due to her conversation while I was explaining what I wanted, I knew that this was a result of her ignoring my order. After I explained this wasn't the dish that I had ordered but that I would eat it due to the fact we had already been at the restaurant for over an hour, the waitress sighed and walked away while I was still speaking and telling her it was okay. When it was time to pay, she acknowledged that I didn't pay for the items that weren't right but still had to pay full price for the experience. JT's management, hiring team and ownership, you need to do better than this. Not to mention, during the entire dining experience there were flies circling the entire bar top. It goes without saying that this will be the last time I'll be coming to JT's. I hope all reading this have a better experience and they're able to clean up both the attitudes of the staff and the quality of the food. Wilma and Frieda's, Sherman's, and Paradise Cove Cafe are all great options and continue to keep their standards up and welcome their guests with open arms. read more

Since Todd the owner of JT's thought it necessary to respond in a defensive matter, I thought I would add to my review. I never said the servers were my friends. I said they were friendly. They aren't so much any more. I compared just your coffee & tea beverage prices and I will get to your statement about increasing your food prices in a minute. You see Todd, when out of town guests look up restaurants to eat, they some times check out the business website. Well, looking at your website, you don't have prices listed because it's easier to leave them alone as you increase your prices. Your restaurant is listed as $$ when it should now be $$$. Not that you care, but here are your competitors coffee & tea prices. Panera $3.29 for both IHOP $3.99 for both MiMi's Cafe $3.29 for both Broken Yolk $3.75 for both Country Cafe $3.99 for both How expensive is tea Todd? You raise the price on everything hoping the customer doesn't notice to much, but what you don't understand is sticker shock! I saw on another site that on April 16 2023, your omelette was $13.00. You have raised prices more than you stated. Where does the 3% credit card surcharge go that most guests don't know about? Luckily for the customer a California law was passed where it must be removed by July 1st 2024, but I'm sure your prices will go up again to cover this loss. At least be honest about this on your website and give a customer your correct menu prices. If they elect to pay a high price for a meal, at least they know that before entering your restaurant. read more

I was looking for a non-hotel eating spot and found JTs on Yelp. When I pulled into the car park it was hard to know what to expect inside as the bar area was empty. I'm glad to report that JT's offers great service and is Good for families. On the outside the window reads "burgers, fries and shakes," but the menu is so much wider than that. I ordered the very berry French toast $10, kid's Mac and cheese $6.50. I thought my French toast was wrong when it came out as it was a croissant, but that's how JT's does it. My friend got her meal first and I asked her how did she like her food.. she said it was decent. I did not understand what she meant by that until I ate a bite of my food. All plates that we ordered came with country potatoes, not a good choice, tasted stale. Food was not hot and the flavor was mediocre. Pretty close to hospital food. We left most of the food on the plates and the waiter didn't notice or didn't want to ask why. I did mentioned it to him when I was paying at the register, and he said, "well I'll mentioned it to the cooks" [get your s*** and get out]. You'll be much happier if you go to a Denny's. read more
