Authentic Mexican food in the middle of Costa Mesa. You feel like you seriously walked into a restaurant in Mexico City. Munson got the chicken enchiladas and I got two chorizo tostadas which came to $28. Food was abundant but to be honest I was surprised with the bill since the tostada were less than $3 each so the enchiladas had to be $22. It wasn't listed but they only had a picture. The cashier didn't seems to speak English so is didn't question it. Food was 4/5. Ambiance is 2/5 so overall I think it's a good experience. You know it's a traditional Mexican joint since they don't have any burritos on the menu;) except for breakfasts burrito.

The worst driest biónico I've ever had

Not your average biónico! It sucks!! A biónico should have yogurt/ creme. This is what I got.

Salsa bar! Don't look for cheap pico here!

Today is Mexican Independence Day, so we decided to have lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Originally, we were going to eat at El Toro Bravo (at the back of the lot), but they got rid of their tables. So we walked down to Jugos Acapulco. Good decision. Real Mexican music. We were surrounded by Mexican patrons. We ordered three different plates: chili relleno, flautas, and a torta. My chili relleno was massive. (I cannot verify this, but I swear they buy their chili rellenos at El Toro Bravo.) It was delicious. 9/10. My wife ordered the flautas plate. 8/10. My son ordered a torta. 8/10. The service was excellent. The young man who took our order spent some time explaining the menu. The ladies working the kitchen and delivering the food were dressed in Mexican dresses and were very courteous and helpful. There is ample parking and ample seating. (See my pics.) There are about ten tables inside and about eight tables out on the covered patio.

Display in the middle of an animation for whatever dumb reason.

Reading the menu is the worst. Why would you loop a video of moving words and then go black for several seconds to just do it all again? Worst menu display I have ever seen. Don't care how the food is, will never be back here. On top of that the 2 menu TVs are not in sync.

Bad service now no bueno how sad for this place full of drunk people only

Food: 3.5. Had a craving for a tamale and someone suggested this place. This is an order-at-the-cashier place. There is inside and outside tables. I ordered a pork tamale. There is a self serve condiment bar with items like salsa, radish slices, and lime wedges. After I placed my order, the cashier gave me a number on a stand to put on my table. Food came out timely. Masa part of tamale was cooked on to the corn husk. It was hard to remove the masa from the husk. Tamale was a nice size and good and, unlike many other places, there was a lot of meat. Service was efficient. Service: 3.5 Ambiance: 3.75 Value: 4

I highly recommend this place! Not only is the food amazing but also the michi ask for Fernanda, she's super sweet and helpful !

Our salmon roll came super cold and the rice paper was hard- they probably premade this and just had it sitting in the fridge. Also, warning- none of these had sauce inside the wraps. They came undressed, basically just plain ingredients wrapped in a cold tortilla and the portion was much smaller than expected. I mean, you'll feel healthy and light after eating these but don't think it's worth going out of your way to get. Came in with low expectations bc we knew Gwyneth likes her stuff HEALTHY so we kinda knew they would skimpy with seasoning or flavor, wanted to keep an open mind, but it was disappointing after seeing all the positive reviews on social media. I came here for lunch by myself and took my food to go. The staff was friendly and offered a few top menu items. I ended up getting their Jidori Chicken Salad Bowl which had chicken breast marinated in lemon, garlic, rosemary flavors over romaine mixed greens. It was around $19 and it was OK but the chicken was super salty! I also got a side of duck bone borth 16 ounces that was around $10 and it was bland and also too salty. I was contemplating adding hot water to dilute the salt but then it would be more bland. I have to say it was a bit disappointing experience for me as I read all the reviews before coming here. I think next time I will dine in and see if they can customize their salt level. I know it is hard with broth but we will see.

It took a minute to locate the restaurant and figure out parking, but once we arrived at the door, the experience was first-class from beginning to end. The hostess was charming and welcoming, the staff kept our waters filled and the table spotless, and our server, Juan, was outstanding. His knowledge of the menu, detailed descriptions, and personal recommendations made ordering easy and built our anticipation for every dish. We started by sharing the beet salad and Chicken Tinga Empanadas with the Gringo Killer Sauce. The beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, while the empanadas were packed with rich, savory flavor. The Gringo Killer Sauce added a bold kick that made them especially memorable. My wife ordered the wedge salad, my daughter chose the Grilled Octopus Al Pastor, and I had the 8 oz Picanha special. Every dish was exceptional. The octopus was a creative and flavorful take on al pastor, and the Picanha special was perfectly cooked, tender and was an absolute standout. Everything was so impressive that I sent my compliments to the chef and was fortunate enough to meet Chef Jackie personally. Then came dessert. Juan described a peach cobbler special that immediately had my mouth watering, while my daughter ordered the Espresso Crème Brûlée. Juan returned to our table with three plates and spoons and informed me that Chef Jackie has recommended her specialty. I did not argue, Chef knows best. She surprised me by sending out something different: a slice of Baklava Cheesecake accompanied by a scoop of house-made peach cobbler ice cream. Now, I have eaten some outstanding cheesecakes all around the world, but this Baklava Cheesecake was on an entirely different level. It was rich, layered, perfectly textured and flaky, and so unbelievably delicious that I nearly licked the plate clean. The house-made peach cobbler ice cream was equally impressive--light and creamy, yet captured the full peach cobbler flavor. The Espresso Crème Brûlée was also beautifully executed, with a crisp caramelized sugar shell and a deep, smooth coffee-flavored custard. My daughter ate half of hers before turning her attention to the cheesecake, and she does not even like cheesecake. That alone should tell you how special it was. I live three hours away, but I will absolutely be making the drive back. Lemon & Thyme delivers exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality, creative dishes, and the kind of personal service that turns a meal into a lasting memory. This is my new favorite restaurant!!! Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Lemon & Thyme. Ask for Juan, trust Chef Jackie, and do not leave without desert.
