I have been coming to order their Purple Haze for years and it's never failed me. I love that they added a play area for the kids and merch to browse through while waiting in line. It's a cute little shop, kinda pricey, but that's to be expected for the area

Before we left Waikoloa we decided on a light breakfast/lunch from Jiuce101. Great choice! It was crowded on a Sunday AM about 11:00. The girl making fresh juices just working non stop while we were there. I chose the acas bowl with yogurt. Never hand one with yogurt before but it worked and it was delicious. The rest of my family ordered fresh juices and panini sandwiches. I sampled the sandwiches and thought they were addictive. The mozzarella was very melty hot and the bread was perfectly toasted. I am already looking forward to my return trip. You just cannot go wrong stopping by this place, you will love it as I did.

Super friendly service, fast, quality ingredients, local fruit and food!!! They are located in a very touristy part of our island but once you step inside their shop you've entered the real Hawai'i ;-). Laid back, jawaiian (hawaiian+reggae) music and aloha spirit from their employees! It was refreshing to see and feel the aloha and also knowing that visitors to our island who may never leave the resort world will experience a small taste of what makes us so special through this place :-)

Had delicious açaí bowls for breakfast. Super fresh and the place is really cute inside! They have a super extensive menu. I got the yogurt bowl and added peanut butter.

A MUST! Great selection, fast & friendly service! Got the Pirates of the Hawaiian Islands, with extra ginger. Yum!

Very tasty, health forward, and fresh tasting juice, salad and sandwich spot--ideal for brunch/lunch/snack. Not cheap but nothing in Hawaii is, and it's not terribly expensive. The place is spotless, has a few seats, the service is good, and the staff just gave good kind energy. The food is very fresh. The tuna salad sandwich is delicious and I really enjoyed the fresh squeezed kale orange juice concoction (can't remember all the other ingredients). Will be back.

Panini, wrapped and prepared to eat later on my long flight back to the USA mainland.

Wow... So first off... I was blown away at the though and forethought that Harriet put into making this Sandwich for me. So much so that I needed to share this with the rest of you travelers who are trying to pack some food for later on your flight. Harriet went above and beyond for me. I can't say enough good things about the customer service here. All the employees this morning were helpful and friendly. So The Story goes that I have a flight later today which is going to last about 6 and 1/2 hours. I wanted to pick up some food so that I had the chance to eat something other than the despicable meals that the airline has for purchase mid flight. I decided that I wanted to get some kind of sandwich or wrap and I am sure glad I stopped in here today. The fact that they worked with me and allowed me to semi customize my order (and the packaging!) to allow for a superb mid flight experience really blew me away. In addition to the cling wrap that they offered for the sandwich, Harriet packaged my order with chips inside a heavy duty Ziploc bag... And no, not one that you could only really use once due to poor quality... But a heavy duty Ziploc bag. She understood her mission to make the most epic mid flight Panini and absolutely crushed the results. 10/10 experience and thank you guys again for the great customer service and for predicting my needs based on what I had told you. Mahalo!

We were only $20 short of reaching the $300 spending requirement for the free gifts, which should speak to how frequently we visited and how much money we spent at this store. Despite being repeat customers, every visit was met with the same poor customer service. All of the cashiers who helped us were rude, curt, and could not even acknowledge the smallest greetings. The customer service was so unpleasant that it was not worth the experience. The food is not amazing, the prices are not great, and the only thing this place has is convenience--nothing more to offer. In one instance, I got a burger and a black milk tea with boba. I specifically told the cashier that I wanted boba, but she did not ring it up. When I inquired about the missing boba, a young employee addressed the matter with the cashier. They talked, and I said that if it cost more, I could pay for it. She rang up the boba with zero acknowledgment of her mistake. Nothing came out of her mouth. Complete silence. In another instance, I asked a cashier what the gifts were if we reached $300 in purchases. She did not say a word. She simply reached for a card with images of the gifts and placed it on the opposite side of where I was standing. She said nothing. I asked if those were the gifts, and she said yes. She then pulled out her phone while I looked at the card, and I simply said, "Okay, thank you." These are just a few examples of the many disturbing encounters we had with all of the cashiers. While on vacation in a tourist area, this is not the type of conduct or customer service one expects to experience. It was disturbing, and we dreaded going there despite the convenience.

Pro Tip: Enjoy a Luxury Resort Without Staying There…read more Here's a little Big Island travel hack... You don't have to be a guest at the five-star Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection to soak up its incredible atmosphere. Simply tell the valet you're dining at Surf Shack, enjoy a bite, a drink--or both--and they'll validate your parking. The complimentary valet alone feels like a win. The resort is consistently recognized as one of the Big Island's premier luxury destinations. Once you've eaten, take your time exploring the property. Stroll the beautifully landscaped grounds, relax in the open-air lounges, wander the shoreline, watch the waves roll in, browse the upscale shops, and enjoy one of the most peaceful resort settings on the Kohala Coast. The ambiance is worth the visit all by itself. As for Surf Shack, the setting is fantastic. The food? Good, but definitely priced with a luxury resort zip code. We enjoyed our meal, but you'll likely pay a premium for what you order. So here's the hack: Pay for lunch... get the resort experience for free. Between the validated valet parking, stunning grounds, oceanfront setting, and laid-back luxury vibe, it's one of the best values on the Big Island if you know the secret. Just don't tell too many people.

They opened with beef tartare that ruined me for every other beef tartare I've ever had. The osso buco is legendary. Then came the double cheeseburger... and I need everyone to understand that I don't hand out compliments like ketchup packets. This is, without question, the best burger I've ever eaten. It's so good it makes you want a cigarette afterward--and I don't even smoke. I've come back many times just for that burger because nothing else I've tried on Hawaiʻi Island or Oʻahu comes close. Their tater tots have developed their own fan club, and the little bar with beer, wine, and cocktails makes it dangerously easy to linger. The staff is consistently warm and welcoming. After being away for six weeks because of a family emergency, one of my first stops after returning was this burger. It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. Come for the butcher shop, stay for the burger, and if you leave without wondering whether you should light an imaginary post-burger cigarette, we clearly ordered different meals.

We decided to try two different items on their small menu; a pastrami and hamburger. Both were so fresh you could actually taste the difference. Nothing like fresh meat! Both were well-seasoned and TENDER, the bun on the burger was a brioche which was very moist. We also got their version of Mac salad which was quite good The laulau sausage was very good, just never had laulau in a sausage before. GPS gave us the incorrect directions, but we found it. I was really excited to try this place because they are one of the few restaurants around Waikoloa…read morethat offer vegan options. The reviews looked good and so we drove up to try it. They had both indoor and outdoor seating, the indoor seating looked more like a bar setting, not somewhere you would necessarily want to hang around for a while to eat. The outdoor area had more tables but was pretty bare bones. There were some TVs that looked like they were mounted but none of them were on and the one by us looked broken. My husband ordered vegan nachos which said it came with melted shredded cheese. We were extremely surprised when they came out not with shredded cheese but with grated powder parmesan cheeze (that you would sprinkle on a pasta). I honestly thought there had been a mistake but when I asked about it they said it was correct. Honestly the worst nachos we've ever had. The grated parmesan didn't melt of all of course so we paid $20 for some dry tortilla chips with dusted cheeze lol. I am baffled why they didn't use actual shredded cheese that melts, especially because I know they had it since it was on my sandwich. I got the buffalo chick'n sandwich which was ok overall. I think if they had breaded the chick'n cutlet it probably would have been a little better. Even though it did have the buffalo sauce on it I felt like it was lacking some flavor - like perhaps a coleslaw or pickled vegetables would have helped. Overall we had high hopes for this place and were disappointed. I do appreciate they made an effort with the vegan options, I'm hoping they make some adjustments to improve the dishes though.
