My sister and I walked in because she recently got her wisdom teeth (plus a few others) taken out and an acai bowl was one of the few things she could eat. They were really polite and understanding since we had to sub out a few things that were too crunchy for her to eat. It's quite expensive ($13.50) for what you get in my opinion, but I guess it's not really out of the norm nowadays. There's also a great and clean place to sit down and chill/eat/chat if you wanted to with free water and accessible bathrooms. Wowza this was a GEM of an acai bowl. Definitely my second favorite acai in the city... really really decadent. I always get the Harlequin Monkey - essentially it is just peanut butter and chocolate HEAVEN in a bowl. I will start by saying the bowls and smoothies were delicious, the reason for the one star was the attitude of at least one employee. A woman came in after I got my bowls and ordered her bowls she then tried to pay with cash and was told that they only took exact cash payments or card. Not an issue until the employee who told her this began to mock the woman as she walked out, obviously already embarrassed, with smart ass remarks like "we don't even have a register bro". A grab-and-go in Old Town that provides organic, healthy options. Pressed juices, nut milks, raw/vegan desserts, and superfood snacks. The kale chips are delicious. (I would especially recommend the sour cream and onion flavor.) The granola is Paleo-friendly. All items appear to be gluten-free and vegan -- they do use honey in some items, but it is raw and local. There is one table with two chairs set up outside when weather permits, but otherwise it is more of a quick stop than a destination. There's no reason to give less than five stars because you get exactly what you can expect from a juice bar. The smootihes are fresh and high quality, the texture of the acai bowl is spot-on (which I find many places struggle to get right), and the facility is modern and CLEAN! The toppings on the acai bowl are also perfectly balanced, and the lattes are good and strong. As a plus, the oat milk gets foamier than any other vegan option I've ever had, and they come out HOT! Like, really hot. My biggest complaint about non-dairy lattes is that they're sometimes warm and not hot, but this place does not disappoint on that front. From my brief time in Chicago, I would come back to this bar over others in the city that I visited. read more

Back up for work this morning and I needed some Coffee bad! Yesterday was rough! My husband decided to stop here as we waited on the rest of our team to get on the road. He called and asked what I wanted. I didn't realize this was a vegan and gluten-free place. I told my husband I needed an iced coffee or latte. So he called and told me they had them. I ordered a rose flavored latte. Then he called me back and said I ordered your latte but they only use oat milk. I'm not gonna lie I was not happy lol! One thing I don't play about is my coffee. So in my mind I was like ok, even though he got me this I'm still going to need coffee. So he comes to the car enjoying his old town whatever you call it smoothie and handed me my latte. I reluctantly put my straw in and to my surprise this latte was delicious! The oat milk had no major flavor impact on it at all. The customer service at Juice RX is amazing!!! I live in the suburbs of Chicago, and I heard about the juice cleanses being amazing. During the quarantine, I decided to order and they were hand delivered the next day. Since then, I have ordered a few more times and they always contact me asking when would be a good time for delivery. This last time, my usual contact was out of town, and I received a text from "Megan" asking me when I would like them and I said whenever, but would love them as soon as they were able. They were delivered to my house (17 miles outside of the city) one hour later. This was my first juice cleanse and Juice Rx made it a huge success. Dean answered all my questions prior to the cleanse and was able to make a customized plan for me since I didn't like beets. I recently went to an event at Fuse Studios (where Juice Rx is located). I had the absolute best time in this class and everyone in the studio was so accommodating, that is, everyone but the guy behind the counter at Juice Rx. After class we had a meet and greet with the trainer. About 6 girls stayed behind to chat and as girls do we got a little over excited and maybe a tad bit loud. But then again the lobby was empty except for us, the women behind the studio desk and the employees at Juice Rx. It was at this moment that the boy behind the counter (we later found out his name to be Dino) screamed at us at the top of his lungs to be quiet. He did not bother to walk up to us and talk to us like any good service employee would...trust me, I've been in the service and retail industry for 10 years. Instead he yelled at us from behind his counter, rolled his eyes, and once we quieted our group to a murmur, proceeded to talk about us to his coworker while he pointed towards our small group gathered in the studio. I was astonished that he thought this was ok behavior, especially when the manager of the studio was there moments earlier and very happy to have all of us at her studio. His language was extremely rude and aggressive. If i were an employer I would never want someone like that to be representing my company. I have always loved Juice Rx and frequent the one in Bucktown, but that reflected very poorly on their image and has put a very bitter taste in my mouth to say the least. My fiancé and I bought the cleanses in preparation for our engagement photoshoot. I'd like to say 3 stars for the really good taste. I loved most of the juices I tried on my cleanse, and felt very energized. I had no issues whatsoever with the cleanse itself. On day 2 of the cleanse, I decided to read the nutrition label on the bottle. My jaw hit the floor! Just one juice alone has almost 50g of carbs and 40g of sugar. Then imagine consuming that SIX times? They may very well be healthy but please DO NOT get this confused with a weight loss cleanse. I'm not denouncing the quality or the ingredients in any way, and this very well be a mistake in my part for assuming these would help promote weight loss. read more

I was pretty torn on whether to rate this a 3 or 4 stars. I would have without a doubt rated them 5 stars until recently when I noticed something "shady" when I recently logged into my account. Positives: I have ordered 2 cleanses and both times I was able to speak with someone from JuiceRx that helped me make my choices. The team is very helpful and knowledgeable in helping you curate your cleanse. I REALLY like that you can create a custom menu for each day of your cleanse so you can mix it up each day and try different juices. It makes the agony of juicing much easier! I have really enjoyed almost everything that I have tried. Some juices I even crave when non juicing, they are just that good. Delivery is always prompt and on time.I even recommended them to multiple friends, one just ordered from them this week! Negative: On that note, while logging into my account when I was sending a referral link to that friend I noticed something that was unsettling to me. After my last cleanse I reviewed several of the juices. All good ratings, except one. The one juice that I did not rate high, they did not approve my review to be on the site which I find extremely dishonest. I can't imagine I wrote something unfair or malicious in any format and probably stated that I really disliked the juice, it was my only bad one of the bunch and it was not for me. If you are not going to allow sub par ratings what is the point of allowing ratings at all? It just seems very strange that the only juice I rated poorly was the only review to not get approved and that does not sit well with me from an integrity standpoint.
