    Pistachio flan

I tried the pistachio Flan, which had nice crispy texture and flavorful. It wasn't my favorite, but still good and makes me eager to try other things here. There's also a cash discount and two small tables to sit in.

I wanted to go check out what the hype of square croissant in NyC was, here I was. I got the strawberry and the chocolate croissants. Maybe I made the mistake of not eating them right away as I was stuffed. I ate it after a few hours and thereby my rating of 4. Well, is that my mistake? I don't know, as I got a similar product that had a similar wait time and that tasted better. I enjoyed Almond Chocolate Hazelnut pastry, which is a twice baked chocolate filled with frangipane cream and hazelnut praline more than the croissant. This was recommended by the employee there.

Their pastry dough is really really really good! The pistachio twist was insane to me. The apricot tart was really good as well just a little sweet on the apricot part but wouldn't stop me from getting another. Need to come back and try many things. Has a bunch of French snacks and cookies and treats to by as well which I appreciate. Coffee was good as well which is always a plus! Guy behind the counter was awesome and had good conversation! Need to come by and try this place if you haven't!

I came here for the thing everyone comes here for. The cube croissant. And yknow? It was pretty good, but the cream to croissant ratio was off, as most of it was cream (however the cream was delicious). It was a shame since the croissant was just right - buttery, flakey. We also got the lemon tart and it was pretty good but nothing to write home about. Tart was high quality and the lemon curd was a little too sour, which is what we aim for. However, the service was really curt and I didn't feel welcome. The coffee was also mid, and I wouldn't get it again.

Great Pastry shop near mount sinai hospitalI got the cinnamon twist and they were super nice and friendly. Really enjoyed it! It was flaky and soft in all the right places. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

It just so happened by chance that I stumbled upon this little gem in search of some bites. Decided on the Turkey Croissant and a chai latte. The croissant was flaky and light, the turkey, cheese, & tomato were fresh. Overall the whole item was filling and tasty. I can't recall what cheese was used but it was goood!! I also tried their Nutella macaroon and it was fluffy good! The young man at the front desk was super nice and attentive, I only wished there were more space to dine in.

I recently visited Julien Bakery and was blown away by their exquisite pastries! The pain au chocolat was a perfect blend of textures, crispy on the outside and delightfully gooey on the inside. The mandarin flan was an absolute citrusy dream, with a buttery croissant shell filled with smooth mandarin pastry cream and topped with candied orange . The plies au chocolat was a standout, featuring layers of vanilla pastry cream and chocolate chips that were simply divine . Julien Bakery's attention to detail and use of high-quality ingredients really shine through in their offerings. This place is a must-visit for any pastry lover. Highly recommended! They are also very nice and helped me with what I needed. The cafe is very cute but it only has a small seating so it might already be taken.

Their pastries are so perfectly flaky and loaded with decadence. I loved the cream inside the green pastry and think they would all pair excellently with coffee!

Julien was a accidental find walking home from Central Park today. I was so happy it was in Yelp and had good reviews. The young lady employee was very nice. There's so many choices I was overwhelmed. I wanted something simple for lunch so I decided to buy a croissant and use my cheese and spinach. It was a good idea and very filling. There's other items I definitely want to try. I'm sure I'll stop by again walking home from the park. I build up an appetite! It's hard to get photos through the enclosed display case. I suggest you visit and get a good look at the delicious selections. I could probably get three meals out of their huge sandwich. Julien has reasonable prices too for fresh baked goods. Plus you get a discount if you pay cash!!

I've had this place bookmarked for awhile! So glad they opened a second location in the Upper Eastside! They've got everything from delicious pastries to French butters to macarons! The highlight for me was the pistachio twist and pumpkin tart! Also, I liked the strawberry madeleine with strawberry jam in the center. The almond croissant was just ok. I highly recommend getting a pastry or two and walk over to Central Park and enjoy the peaceful morning scene!

Blueberry lemon meringue filling cube croissant

Came to the York Ave location to try the cube croissant, it was Mother's Day weekend so they were mostly sold out and got the last blueberry lemon meringue filling one, the fillings were very tangy and bit on the sweet side, the texture of the croissant wasn't as buttery or flaky as a normal croissant it was more dense like a bread texture guess that's how it holds the shape but it was still good dessert, service was great the sever was very nice and helpful, ambience is ok it has couple tables for sitting but a small seating area more like a take out place, need to come back to try the chocolate one

TLDR: great bakery, everything's good. Service is quick and friendly, what more can you ask for. I feel that this area of the UES has been needing a boulangerie and we finally have one! I first had Julien at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg and i was excited to know that they were opening a Manhattan location down the street. Everything I've had at Julien has been delicious: baguettes, various flavored or filled croissants, tarts and madeleines. I typically return for a plain croissant and I think my favorite tart has to be the peach and pistachio. I really enjoy their sandwiches as well. I prefer the butter, cornichon, salami, and cheese. I will say there is a lack of signage, but all of my questions were quickly answered by simple conversation with the friendly staff.

So glad having this new boulangerie at the UES! Finally a place with ham and cheese croissant!!! Although the lrice ia a bit high, i def pay it to satisfy my cravings! The croissant was excellent, super crunchy layers but soft in the inside with perfect ham and gruyere cheese baked in. Regular croissants were good as well everything looked super yum! They also have a few shelves with french/european things. Check it out!

I had a decaf iced latte with regular milk. To me it was not too tasty.

I heard they have a good rainbow cookie! I left with 8 rainbow cookies and 1 slice of coconut cake. I schlepped them on the L, then the C, and all the way to the UWS. I put the box in the refrigerator and sampled the goods a little later. The rainbow cookies are fine but the coconut cake is where it's at! It's 3 layers with thick icing and lots of coconut. I'll be back and I'm in love.

When we went, it wasn't busy so we were greeted and helped immediately. The staff was nice and helpful despite what other reviews said. They have so many options of cheesecake flavors but I just wanted the plain. They also have other desserts and when I saw the cherry butter cookies I had to get some. Everything was delicious and it held up very well with our travel back to Koreatown area and the flight home to Florida. I have a core memory of cheesecake that was crust less from my childhood that my mom used to get and keep in the freezer. I've been searching for that unique flavor and this is it! I finally found it. They have seating where you can dine there as well as some tables outside. Very easy to find and beautiful building. Highly recommend!

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix.

I had never heard of the place before, but I was happy to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels special. The store has two beautiful double doors that create such a grand entrance, and once inside, you immediately feel the energy. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!
