    MENU - May 2026

5/6/2026 First time at Jyan Isaac. Wanted to try their bagels, so didn't think of getting other breads, although I knew they were more known for their breads. HALF BAGEL W/ SCHMEAR (UNTOASTED) Half sesame bagel, untoasted with jalapeño cream cheese. Wanted to try it untoasted. Wrong choice! However, the bagel is definitely packed with loads of sesame seeds. Bagel overall is okay. It did have a bit of a chew, but a bit too breadsy. They gave me a thicker slice of the bagel, which was nice, but untoasted, it was not good. The jalapeño cream cheese was packed with jalapeños! Spicy too! I think it would have been good if bagel was toasted and had other toppings. MATCHA STRAWBERRY COOKIE It was in their display case and I love matcha, so decided to get one. Don't think this is on their regular menu. It's a matcha cookie with strawberry flavored chocolate inside. Chewy and soft cookie. Outside is covered in white sesame seeds. The chocolate reminded me of Valrhona chocolate, really good quality chocolate! Matcha flavor was solid and had a great presence. SAVORY PAIN SUISSE Forgot the exact name, but it is a pain suisse with savory ingredients. It had thinly sliced meat and cornichons and baked with parmesan cheese crust. Ate it the next day after toasting it in toaster oven. It had a lovely crispy crunchy texture. The fillings were salty and savory. A bit odd to have slices of cornichon and thinly sliced meat, which reminded me of roast beef. I think there was a bit of mustard in it too. SESAME BAGEL, EVERYTHING BAGEL, PUMPERNICKEL BAGEL Got these as loose bagels to eat at home. Sesame and Everything bagel were both coated generously and evenly. As an untoasted bagel, I did not think it was great. Pumpernickel was the best of the three when eaten untoasted. Toasted was better, but I wasn't complete impressed. They did their best to slice it evenly, which I appreciated, but it was all on the drier side. I ate it simply with regular whipped cream cheese and I think these bagels needed more toppings. CUSTOMER SERVICE Really great customer service! Service was calm, yet friendly. The lines were slowly starting to form, but staff was not rushing anyone. Would love to return to try their breads and lunch menu!

I finally found a lox bagel spot on the westside! Jyan Isaac has great quality bagels and lox. I got half order of the works which has pickled onions, dill, cream cheese on top. It was very delicious! I also got a whole loaf of sprouted seed sourdough from here and it was amazing!!!!! There were empty several tables outside on Saturday afternoon so it was super nice. Staffs were friendly and gave me recommendations on which sourdough to get :)

I went during Coachella weekend and let me tell you that's the best time to go cause there's no line. But on a regular weekend be prepared to wait. I will say the bagel and the pastries are great. We got a the gravalox bagel, almond croissant, and the cereal milk French toast. The cereal milk French toast was the specific thing I wanted to try and it was delicious. I will say it's on the sweeter side. I didn't really taste the cereal milk, but it tasted more like a custard. Def bring friends to share. The bread itself tasted like a brioche, it was so soft and fluffy. Even though I came for the French toast I think I enjoyed the bagel more. The French was definitely delicious but the bagel was also really good. There's seating outside of the restaurant but it's also limited seating. Overall I had a really good experience at Jyan Isaac bread and will be coming back next Coachella

Great bagel with excellent schmear. Super fresh toppings. Lovely hang on their relaxed patio. Really nice service. Also had a good Americano. Way prefer the consistency and taste of bagel over Layla's next door. Just my personal preference.

I found myself thinking about their half bagel with cream cheese, tomato, onions, and dill. So, since I had an hour before I could pick up my car, I came here. Unfortunately, the whole thing fell apart on first bite ... capers went flying and cucumbers fell onto the table... 3 second rule prevailed. Bought a beautiful loaf of their bread but tbh, a bit disappointed with my repast... Ofc, I will return, but maybe next time I might try Layla's... Sorry Jyan Isaac but it was a bit too messy...

Located in the lovely Ocean Park neighborhood is my absolute favorite bagel and bread spot! In my humble opinion, they have the best challah and gravlax bagels. This weekend I also tried the malted chocolate bread pudding, and I was blown away. But what really makes the experience at Jyan Isaac is the staff; Virginia and Alex are warm, friendly, and always genuinely happy to help. Gives it a community feel!

Small store, pretty packed at the time that I went. This place is so much better than Layla bagels like wildly. I only got the everything bagel, but it was pretty good. I mean look at it. Filled me up really fast so I did not finish the whole thing, but I think it was worth the shorter weight and the bagels are much thicker and fresher than Layla's which is right next door. Deserves the hype Layla gets!

I came to this cafe after seeing how popular it was when I visited Layla's. I have to say that the selection of bread and pastries were great, especially for the price. Had the chocolate chip cookie, and chocolate chips were in every bite that I had-- delicious! The service was quick and there were plenty of outdoor seating in the back of the shop. The gravlax works was good, although I had wish it came with more vegetables. There are options to upgrade your cream cheese like scallion cream. Would definitely come back for their pastries and bread.

Cookie was AMAZING so many chocolate chips and it was both crunchy and chewy in the center - 8.5/10. My only complaint is that they can't warm it up and its a bit tooo sweet. The miso caramel latte was really good but again very sweet and the miso made it salty... interesting to try but would not get again. Overall, 8/10 drink + cookie and overall great service and vibes!!

HELLO THE BAGEL IS HUGE?? I find it extremely fascinating how Layla Bagels is right next door, although after having tried Jyan Isaac, I think they serve different audiences. Jyan Isaac has more diverse offerings beyond bagels, from bread to pastries, and their cream cheese is absolutely heavenly with its stronger flavor, reminiscent of Courage Bagels' cream cheese. The combination of everything actually on the bagel wins the Layla Laika but there's definitely still some room for improvement in the produce quality when compared to their competitor next door. However, there is no line here and a lot more seating while still capturing the vast majority of the bagel-eating experience!

Stopped by Juan Isaac Bread for breakfast this morning. 1. Salmon roe on sesame bagel with cream cheese and red onion: pungent, savory and delicious. The sesame bagel gave it extra flavor and crunch. The salmon roe popped in my mouth. It was fun to eat. Loved the flavor, texture and presentation. 2. Huckleberry scone - the sugar on top of the scone gave every bite a nice crunch. It was substantial and not dry. Very good. Service was excellent. There is a super cute fenced-in courtyard in the back. I really enjoyed sitting back there sipping my Americano while biting into the creamy bagel sandwich and sweet scone. I did all this while basking in the fall LA sunshine. I couldn't have asked for a better moment. It was utterly blissful. Namaste.

Bread racks - later in the day so most of it was sold out

This is such a delightful weekend stop after Pilates down the street. Tiny shop that always smells of something savory being baked. Grab a sourdough loaf, sweet pastry, coffee, or slice of pizza and eat at the tables along Ocean Park or the hideaway in the back yard. I go for the tomato, caper, olive oil on everything bagel with cream cheese. Chef's kiss. Excellent staff, great selection, consistent quality, line is never too long. Overall win.

Just walk in, skip the line and pay for your pre-order and done. I enjoy this experience immensely. There were 3 households worth of treats split between 4 boxes. The regular croissants are delicious. You get a small hit of French butter, but it also feels like there's been a slight fermentation of the dough itself. I feel like they bake the croissants just a touch longer to caramelize. The flavor of this croissant is complex. You can taste the effort that goes into it. The 4 I got for my household disappeared instantly. The Kouign Amman is currently being filled with a peach jam. Run for it. It was the one thing that was still warm when we picked up and it was amazing. Delicious and warm caramelized pastry with a generous dollop of also warm peach jam. It's the best KA I've had...ever. The scones are big enough for 3-4 people to share. If you try to polish the Boursin by yourself, you'll not need lunch and you'll only need a small salad for dinner. If you made a breakfast sandwich with this scone, it would be a great decadent meal. The blueberry was also a winner. The cinnamon rolls received high marks in my house. Rewarmed in the toaster oven or the microwave (the toaster oven was better), they disappeared and are now the house preferred cinnamon roll. It's like a croissant and a perfect cinnamon roll had a baby. The added bonus is that the sum of its parts is balanced and not too sweet. Makes it easier to finish a whole in one sitting...the chowpups know how to eat. Loved the pistachio lemon croissant. Fantastic. No notes. Want something different? The Farmer's Market danish is the laminated pastry filled with Weiser potatoes, onions, cheese and herbs. So good. Not pictured: pain au chocolat, almond croissant, banana bread...these all went to my parents. Word is that their box was empty in about 36 hours. Petitgrain is a gem. Y'all on the Westwide are lucky to have it. I'd definitely come here more often if the level of effort was low. Props to the team here for having our entire order ready and just being so lovely.
