a plate of food on a tray

Eating at this K&W reminded me of going to Sears. Years of neglect turned what was once a fine establishment into a slowly declining shell of what it once was. It made me really miss the old K&W in Cameron Village, which unfortunately did not survive the pandemic, but was an order of magnitude better than this K&W. With the exception of the roast beef, which was good, everything on the serving line appeared to have been sitting around for a while and tasted as bad as it looked. My cuban chicken with black bean salsa had clearly been in the warmer tray for way too long. The accompanying black bean salsa was a gloppy, disgusting mess. The macaroni and cheese was inedible. If these dishes had been freshly prepared they would have been very good. I want to give a shout out to our server, who asked to be called "Knucklehead". He was working hard and doing a great job.

Nasty turkey, tried to salvage it with seasoning

Straight up trash. First and foremost is the horrible service. My wife called yesterday to ask about making a minor change to the order, and the person on the phone was extremely rude and told her to call back later. She called again this morning, and the person was just as rude. Then there's the food - we just threw away their stuffing and Mac and cheese because it tasted so bad. The green beans had no flavor. The mashed potatoes are thin. The gravy has no flavor. And the turkey is just some steamed lunch meat. The rolls are good though. Instead of a Thanksgiving feast, we're trying to get some Boston Market. I see why they're shutting down left and right, and good riddance.

I have been to Postino many times before, but this was my first time at the Raleigh location. While it's been 4 years since I've had Postino and the menu has changed a little, the bruschetta board is still a permanent fixture. We ordered a bruschetta board for an appetizer and I ordered the half panini & half salad for my entree. The bruschetta board is a must order because you can get 4 different kinds. The top tier choice is the salami pesto one. It's my absolute favorite. For my panini, I got the caprese one on ciabatta bread and the half of the mixed greens salad. The salad was delicious. This was a ton of food and felt very satisfying. I always love the vibe of Postino's, but this location was way too dark with only a small candle at the table. Service started off good and we were able to order our food without a problem. However, our server was done with his shift right after we ordered so we got a new server. Our new server had no idea we already ordered and was a little behind coming to our table for water refills. Despite that, we were in and out of the restaurant within 45 minutes. Postino is surrounded by other shops and restaurants, so they had a ton of parking available outside the restaurant. Highly recommend this place if you want good food!

It offers breakfast and lunch for the desk jockeys working there, which is convenient. They have your egg-and-meat type sandwiches for breakfast (toast, English muffin, or croissant) and sandwiches and salads for lunch, with a different soup on a rotating basis. They also offer a special every day, which a lot of my coworkers really enjoy. I heard a bunch of them rave about the veggie melt, which I still haven't had a chance to try! Anyway, there are your typical deli sandwiches, plus several mediterranean (vegetarian) options, which is great for me! There are a couple sides, like fruit salad, tabouli, and stuffed grape leaves. It's a pretty good deal, with sandwiches around $5-7. A cup of soup is just a few bucks! They also carry drinks and some snacks, and always have a couple baskets of brownies and bars to satisfy your nagging sweet tooth.

This downtown bar and restaurant…read morefeels less like a room and more like a warm afternoon--light spills through oversized windows, stretching across honeyed wood floors and catching on glints of brass and gold like little sparks of celebration. The patio blurs the boundary between inside and out, inviting breezes, laughter, and the occasional curious passerby to join the scene. Inside, it's a playful clash of textures and tones--lush greenery tumbling from shelves, vibrant colors dancing against natural wood, and polished metals winking from every corner. It's the kind of place where a cocktail feels brighter, conversations linger longer, and even the sunlight seems to stay for just one more round. From the moment you step in, the welcome feels less like service and more like being let in on a good secret. The staff greet you with easy smiles and a kind of genuine curiosity--like they're actually glad you chose this spot, today. There's no script, no stiffness--just a natural warmth that settles in as quickly as the sunlight. Behind the bar, the bartenders move with quiet confidence and a touch of showmanship. They know their craft, but they don't flaunt it--they share it. Ask for a classic, and it arrives perfectly balanced; ask for something new, and they'll read your mood like a seasoned mind-reader. The deviled eggs arrive perfectly plump, sunshine-yellow centers whipped into a silky, indulgent cloud and topped generously with the red peppers that bring just the right whisper of fresh garden drama, they're rich without being heavy, playful without trying too hard--the kind of bite that makes you pause mid-conversation, raise an eyebrow, and make you want to slowly work through the next one. They only come in odd numbers, sharing isn't caring on these. The BBQ hot honey pork ribs show up like they own the place--sticky, glistening, and just a little bit dangerous. The meat barely clings to the bone, surrendering at the slightest nudge, impossibly tender yet somehow still juicy, with those caramelized, crispy edges that feel like the best kind of rebellion. Sweet heat from the honey lingers just long enough to keep you coming back, fingers unapologetically messy and completely worth it. And then there's the mac & cheese--rich, velvety, and indulgent in a way that feels almost mischievous. Each spoonful stretches and melts like it's putting on a show, wrapping you in buttery comfort while quietly stealing the spotlight. Together, it's a plate that doesn't ask for your attention--it demands it, and you'll be more than happy to oblige. Cheers!

We showed up early with our 1.5 year old daughter and they were able to seat us immediately. The area felt spacious, although that could be due to the fact that it wasn't super packed inside. I ordered the short rib benedict, my husband got the chicken & waffle sandwich, and we ordered my daughter a side of the mac & cheese. What a delicious meal! The short rib was tender and flavorful, and sat on top of a biscuit (what's not to love here?!) - horseradish hollandaise was the perfect touch as the horseradish pairs nicely with the beef. The chicken & waffle sandwich was the best guilty pleasure! Waffle crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, chicken breaded and fried with a nice crunch, and a nice hot honey syrup to go alongside -- wish this had a little more heat. To our surprise, the mac & cheese side was a highlight too! It's hard to get a good mac n cheese, but this had such a rich, white cheese, slight funk flavor - delicious. Brunch at Parkside is delicious. Looking forward to trying dinner here soon.

We came in today with reasonable expectations after finding the restaurant online and seeing mostly positive reviews. We ordered several items to share as a family: broccoli cheddar soup, a French dip sandwich with green beans, and poutine fries. Unfortunately, the broccoli cheddar soup was very bland and lacked seasoning. We had a few bites and ended up leaving the rest. The French dip was the standout of the meal. While the meat itself was a bit dry, dipping it in the au jus made it the most enjoyable and edible item we ordered. The poutine fries were disappointing. They were very basic and didn't resemble what I would expect from poutine--more like prepackaged frozen fries that had been deep-fried. We didn't finish them and left most behind, though we still paid for them. Our child wouldn't eat any of the food, so we ordered the fried ravioli appetizer, hoping it would be similar to versions we've had elsewhere. Sadly, that was another letdown. Although we were told there was no breading, the texture suggested otherwise. This was the one item we did send back. I wouldn't recommend this location for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities, as much of the food appears to be made from frozen or prepackaged items. That said, our server was absolutely wonderful--the highlight of the visit. She was kind, attentive, kept our drinks refilled, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Her sweet demeanor and constant smile were honestly the reason we didn't complain more at the time. While I wouldn't return for the food, I might consider stopping by again strictly for drinks during a sporting event. Otherwise, this just wasn't the dining experience we were hoping for.
