    Beef bulgogi bininbap

So I'm not sure what happened here but I used to LOVE this spot. Somehow in the last few years the quality and quantity of food has gone down but the prices have gone up. Honestly I think I keep stopping by because of nostalgia.. I've gotta hang that up. The amount of meat you're given is laughable. This would but be enough protein to feed a reasonably grown adult. The service itself isn't even good. The woman at the counter couldn't seem to care less to be there and the individuals making the actual food have been MIA the last 2 times I've stopped in. K town was an amazing local restaurant that I really believed in when it opened. Im really disappointed to see where it's landed.

Spicy Wing, Black Bean Noodle, Beef Bulgogi Fries, and cheese corn dog

The beef bulgogi fries I think are the highlight of KTowne-88! The fries themselves are crisp yet fluffy and it is absolutely LOADED with cheese, sauce, and beef bulgogi. It can be easily shared between 2 people. I was also a big fan of their cheese corn dog, it's pretty small because it's offered as a side, but I think it was a pretty decent serving for the price and it tasted great too! The wings unfortunately weren't the best, the wings themselves didn't have a lot of meat to them and it could have been breaded better to have a better crunch. We got the spicy flavor, but it wasn't our favorite, it was actually pretty bland with an overbearing spiciness to it. The black bean noodles also wasn't my favorite, the flavor seemed a little off from other black bean noodles I've had. Overall, Ktowne-88 is a very spacious establishment with plenty of seating and OK food. I would definitely come back for the bulgogi fries if I'm in the area!

Stopped by on a Sunday night and were unsure at first if they were opened. We walked in and asked if we could place an order and the young lady said She was going to check. She came back and allowed us to place our order but stated it would have to be to go. I got a beef bowl with rice, my fiancé got chicken bowl with salad (not pictured) we were unable to purchase a fountain drink because she stated they shut it off for the night because it wasn't working. After placing our order the lady asked us to wait outside and gave us a buzzer for when our food was ready. Not one to complain but it was 8 pm outside and a little windy but no big deal. Got back home and ate our food and it was kind of bland to me. I was disappointed I've wanted to try this place for a while and had high expectations. Maybe it was just an off day.

We were so excited to try this spot, based on the reviews. We ordered bulgogi fries, tteokbokki, and korean seasoned chicken. The bulgogi fries were good. The fries were crispy and well seasoned and very flavorful. It did get pretty heavy the more we ate because of the mayo. Tteokbokki: Good amount of spice. There was rice cake and fish cake in the dish. The rice cakes were perfectly cooked, just the right amount of chewiness. However, the dish as a whole was just okay. Spicy Korean seasoned chicken: We all thought that it was really salty. I could not taste the spiciness because it was so salty. The chicken was crunchy and had a good texture, but I wouldn't reorder this dish. We came around noon on a weekend, and there was plenty of seating and parking in the lot. Food prices were fair. I may reorder the fries again, but not the tteokbokki or spicy korean seasoned chicken.

Really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it missed the mark. Maybe we got it wrong by ordering the less popular "street food" dishes. Bulgogi fries were ok but nothing to rave about. Katsu was a bit disappointing. Although I prefer my katsu to be crispy, the dish was dry and almost flavorless. I did ask the sauce to be on the side but it just didn't cut it, especially when there are so many places out there that do this dish right. The beef soon tofu soup was hot (temperature) but it's supposed to be piping hot so when you crack the egg it takes a few seconds to cook. I kept swirling the soup around waiting for the yolk to cook but it stayed runny/raw for longer than usual. Also the consistency of the soon tofu didn't taste like the traditional way it's prepared. It was thicker and almost creamy-like. Service was fast and the restaurant was clean. There were a few people who opted to dine outside. They looked like they were enjoying their food with a few beers. From the looks of it, we should have ordered the wings.

Ever since the owners changed, the food has gone downhill. Staff is always changing and 90% of them are extremely rude, however there are a few that are very kind. Tacos were thrown in the box and the ramen had little to no broth and I've had change thrown at me because they didn't want to walk towards the counter. I've tried giving them several chances hoping it would get better. The new owners unfortunately do not care about the service. Found some great new spots because of this and a lot of people I know have stopped going to Ktown as well.

This is the worst Korean food I've ever had. There were only 5 pieces of rice cake in our dduk bokki dish. The japchae was so bland, noodles were stuck together and hard. I do not recommend this place. I was shocked how bad their dishes were.

Great place for "fast food" style korean food and snacks. I took friends here that have never tried korean food and they loved it. The plaza its in has a bunch of parking. The inside is spacious. The only thing thats a is the restroom. Overall, it's a good place. Definitely try the wings!

This is the first time I had Korean food dishes, they were sooo good. I can't wait to go back and try more. The server was friendly and helpful. It was quiet. When I went, there's 99's music playing in the background and two tvs . You order when you walk in and then sit where you want.

Great hangout place and to fulfill your crave on your simple Korean Food. In addition, this place also offers mixed hispanic cuisine touch to the food menu. Beef Bowl portion is just perfect while Tofu Soup, could have little bit more extra meat. The only downside is, the table outside not being cleaned. While I wet- sanitized wiped the chair and table with, it was literally 'black' dirty - and this bring you uncomfortable feeling. Since the outdoor dining was setup, means option for dining there is offered with the condition that support the cleanliness, I guess. But this was not I discovered. If there is rating option of 3.5, I'll go for it.

    Fish taco and chicken taco
    Caroline T.

We enjoyed our tacos and beef bibimbap. They had great flavor. The fish taco was one of the best we've had. Be careful though, they are very small. See the photo to see how their diameter isn't that much bigger than the diameter of the water glass. And, while it is very fast to order when you walk in, it takes a long time for the food to come out. But, the food was worth the wait. We will definitely be back when we aren't looking for a fast bite to eat.

    Yadi E.

Major catfishing going on. Appealing to the eye but the flavor was not there. Tacos were cold upon receipt. I ordered the beef & fish taco. Mostly toppings & breading on the fish taco, with like a french fry sized piece of fish. Same with the Bulgogi fries, meat was okay but fries were cold and not very flavorful. My friends didn't speak too highly of the ramen either. Maybe I came on an off day?

Came back here after 3 years and it immediately seemed different when I walked in. I guess the ownership changed and I didn't expect the food taste to change so much... I ordered Jjajangmyun and the noodles were too soggy and stuck together, the sauce was too salty and sweet. I took one bite and couldn't force myself to continue eating. What a disappointment.

    Do they serve Kimbap?

    No we don’t I’m sorry

What' happen to the Mexican food and is your bugogi back to the original seasoning?

Hi Travis Thanks for reaching out The sole Mexican food is not part of the restaurant no more we do…

When are the kimchi rice balls coming back? We haven't been back since they are no longer on the menu

Unfortunately, not right now. We are hoping that in the future we can bring them back. Stay updated by following in our Instagram @ktowne88

Can you request tteokbokki without fishcake?

    Yes of course

    Do they serve vegan Jjajangmyeon?

Their jajangmyeon contains pork. Most jajangmyeon at Korean restaurants contain pork with the pork premixed into the black bean sauce. Additionally, the sauce tends to have animal products aside from pork in it.

    Do the have kimbap?

No they do not serve kimbap

How is this 1 $ sign when almost everything is over 10+?

The prices used to be a little lower a few years ago but they have made some improvements to the restaurant (drink bar, electronic menu) so the prices probably account for that.

    Do they offer military discount?

I dont believe so. Havent seen anything about that

Disclaimer: Had I not been part of a large gathering that was coming here, I doubt I ever would have come to this buffet. Pros: They had the World Cup playing on a "2017 New" 36ish inch TV with the tags still on it The food was mostly hot The cream cheese wontons were delicious, creamy, and crispy Cons: I tried like 11 items, and only the cream cheese wontons were hittin'. Out of the 11 items I tried, only 3-4 items were passable as decent The food was salty The black pepper chicken tasted like fish The food ended up giving my bubble guts the bubble guts-SHEESH! While there were loads of offerings, which I appreciate, the organization of said offerings were a bit strange. The hibachi was set-up going left to right, while the food stations on either side of it were going right to left, creating this crazy clash of people heading in opposite directions. It just wasn't for me.

Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the restaurant at a local medical building parking lot. It's $1 each 9 minutes with a max of $13. Or you can try to find street parking and walk on over. Food: I ordered a Lychee Martini, Saigon Summer, Mamasan's Shrimp Cake Skewers, Truffle Wok Seared Noodles with Scallop, Slow-Drip Vietnamese Coffee Flan, and Banyan Tree Ice Cream. Before I started ordering, I was immediately given some house made complimentary shrimp chips. I loved how light and airy it was. It also had an amazing crunch. It tasted just like shrimps hahaha. My lychee martini was a crisp, refreshing cocktail that perfectly balances floral sweetness with tart acidity. Order this! The Saigon summer is a spicy, tropical blend of tequila, lime leaf liqueur, agave, butterfly pea infused triplum, and a Thai chili infusion. Not really up my alley, but I'm glad I was able to try it out. I think I dislike anything spicy and super bitter in my drinks. It just tasted odd. Mamasan's shrimp cake skewers features crispy, deep-fried shrimp cakes flavored with kaffir lime and lemongrass. It is served with skewers, charred pineapple, and a sweet garlic chili dip. Definitely get this. It was so crunchy, massive, and mouthwatering. The charred pineapple provided a sour yet sweet taste that helped off set the savory seafood / fishy taste in your mouth. The truffle wok seared noodles with scallop is a dish that combines savory, smoky flavor with luxurious truffle and tender scallops, which bridges the gap between classic Asian stir-fry and Italian comfort food. As a massive sucker for Italian food and all things truffle, this dish was my favorite. The al dente handmade egg noodles were wok-tossed in a rich black truffle sauce with delicious mushrooms, fresh Brussels sprout leaves, and perfectly seared scallops. I loved that I could taste the black truffles. The truffles added a nice rich, earthy, and highly savory flavor with prominent notes roasted nuts. GET THIS DISH!!!!! The slow-drip Vietnamese coffee flan is a silky, rich egg custard infused with bold phin-drip coffee and sweetened condensed milk. It offers a perfect balance of bitter roasted coffee and sweet creamy custard. This dish was super smooth, creamy, and delicious. I loved that Star Leaf added their own twist to this dish by putting a caramel golden cage on top of this already phenomenal tasting dessert. The caramel golden cage gave this flan a nice crunch. This dish wasn't too sweet for me. As a hater of super sweet things, this flan was just right. The banyan tree ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Super refreshing! I got two scoops of Thai tea ice cream and one scoop of the coconut ice cream. Both flavors were fantastic and tasted very creamy. Not too sweet, which is how I like it. Staff: The staff here are very attentive, friendly, welcoming, and polite. Elysha waited on me when I went. She was very attentive, informative, and personable. They put so much vinegar that you could hardly taste anything else. Pricing has also started to feel off.. for e.g. paneer tacos are quite small (3 very small pieces) for $14 price point which makes the value hard to justify.
