Saw this place when my son took me to another restaurant. I decided to come back today and do what my son calls being a food snitch. It was not crowded as can be seen and it took a bit for my server to come. I ordered a mug of Kirin Ichiban and for appetizers I got Edamame and Takoyaki which is fried octopus batter balls. I spent sometime looking over the various ramen offerings. Their ramen is mainly pork based no beef. The Edamame was standard and glad I ordered it. The Takoyaki was heat hot and I could not discern the taste of that first one. I decided to wait a bit before trying another one and go back to looking over my Ramen selections before the server returned. For the Takoyaki you can taste the mayonnaise in it not bad, but not something I would order again. Glad I tried it. I decided on the Black garlic Ramen. I asked for it to be a little spicy so they'll probably add some chili oil to that. Looking at the overall restaurant, the atmosphere is basically what you would expect for a Japanese American place. The music was quiet, which allow for conversations to continue without having to yell or be heard by other tables my server, as I stated before was slow. But nice. Here is the ramen. Now it may take a bit to order but once placed it comes out quickly. The spice version of the black garlic Ramen was not overwhelming. It provided a little bit, but did not overwhelm the other flavors. I also liked the texture size of the noodles. They were thin and the right consistency very good. Well time to really dig in so I give this place 4.75 stars. read more

We had a great experience. We called prior to see if there was a wait for our party of three and there was not. When we arrived we were able to sit right away. This was about 6 on Friday. All of the tables have been full. Devin was our server and he was friendly and attentive, food was delivered timely and most of all it was delicious. read more

Brand spankin' new and open for business! Still in 'soft' opening, so limited menu for both food and drinks! However, what a nice and pleasant experience! The place looks amazing and so modern & clean! The staff were extremely nice and on-top of everything! We order some Nigori unfiltered sake and a few appetizers, fried oysters and gyoza - then our meals, Skewers and a Ramen bowl . It was all fantastic - I cannot wait for the grand opening!! We had the pleasure of attending day, one of their soft opening. I have been dying for a good Ramen restaurant in the Trinity area since we moved here, about four years ago. We were not disappointed! As it was the first day, we were expecting a few kinks, but we arrived at lunch, and it was an incredibly smooth experience. APPS: We started with two appetizers, the Takoyaki and karaage. It was clear the car was made in house with good flavor, but not too overpowering or too fried. It was lightly fried and I thought absolutely perfect. The only recommendation I could give was that they were a little big for bite-size pieces so I did have to use my chopstick to break them down, so that I could take small smaller bites. DRINKS: My husband ordered some saki and someone came out to get his profile and help Help make a wonderful recommendation that he thoroughly enjoyed. MEAL: I had the Shoyu Ramen and he had the Shio so that we could compare. Have I been given either on their own? I would've been extremely happy. However, I really preferred to Shoyu. His was a slightly lighter broth, but I felt like mine had more Unami flavor ATMOSPHERE/AMBIANCE: this does not feel like a Trinity/New Port Richey restaurant. Upon walking in I had vibes of my old favorite Tampa hats. It has a upscale slightly trendy feel that is perfect for a date night. However, we had quite a few families that had brought in young children, and they seemed to fit right in as well. SERVICE: for a soft opening, we were expecting some kinks and issues, but we found our server to be incredibly attentive. The manager came over and the owners even stopped by to ensure that we had everything we needed. I imagine some kinks will still need to be worked out as the restaurant gets more busy, but this was honestly top-notch service! We can't wait to go back! BONUS: the menu we saw was for their soft lunch, they plan on expanding it and adding my favorite soup, black garlic Ramen! read more

My wife and I went to this new place the other day since it's near her work. It was definitely a bit hard to find l(the signage is a work in progress)!, but it's across from the Cantina. We were very impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. Excellent decor and prompt waitstaff. We both ordered the spicy miso Ramen and it did not disappoint. Incredible flavor and a decent size portion for the price. They also have a fairly good sake selection, which we enjoyed. Definitely are coming back again. read more

Very welcoming but it took well over 10 minutes to get water for table of 1. The service needs to be better on point. I just got back from Japan where the restaurant is half the size and over full to the max with people but the service was on point. It's 7:50 and I've only received water. Let's see if I see the server soon. Unfortunately I actually had to say something to get served and I'm literally sitting in the middle of the room and sat down by the manager (I believe). Anyways, luckily soon after the server came out apologizing and offering to make accommodation for taking so long. It was almost 20 mins- moving forward- ordered the Edamame and Vegetarian Ramen and for my diet restriction, half the noodles. Looking forward to the food. If it is out of this world then I will bump up the stars. I like the ambience and they do have couple of the private rooms you see in Japan restaurants but your not sitting on the floor so it may be easier on you and comfort ;) They have a little bar area where one can sit but no sushi, so who knows what holds in the future as that is typically a staple in most Japanese restaurants. The Vegetarian Ramen was tasty, clean little salt and good flavor broth. The Tofu is fried. Alex was my waitress and i'm coming to find out part of ownership there and she was letting me know that they had just opened two weeks ago and they were just getting some of the kinks out very nice. All the food is made freshly in the back home overall, I don't give it four stars the food is quite delicious. It's different. It's nice to know that it's a local owned business coming in our area and the prices are actually I would say mid range not bad at all. They offer the moochi ice cream. I will definitely be coming back and I'm sure I won't be sitting there waiting forever. It felt like forever, but she was very kind and was apologetic and I will say you can tell customer service meant a lot, which is a good sign. Great to see that they are finally finishing the plaza. This restaurant is in after 20 years. Classic decor very well decorated with decent seating arrangement. Full menu of authentic dishes for bar limited desserts, but traditional. Service was great very friendly definitely a local hangout spot for families with young kids as the children menu offers great value. read more

We anxiously awaited the opening of this place at the Trinity Tuscan Town Center and today was its soft opening. It did not disappoint. This place is amazing all the way around, from decor to service to food to drink. The menu is smaller than the eventual full menu but expected for a soft opening but still an amazing selection of food and drink. Appetizers are all authentic Japanese and delicious. Priced appropriately as well. The Raman is amazing, all homemade, including the miso. The curry pork katsu was perfect and a massive serving. The bar is full service, Japanese beer on draft and top shelf Sake. Service was fabulous (shout out to Jasmine ) and the owners were very attentive. This is a jewel. read more

We were looking for someplace to eat on a Friday night. We were able to be seated quickly and staff was very attentive. We got gyoza which was perfectly cooked and crisp, and was consumed very quickly. I got tonkatsu ramen and my partner got chicken katsu curry. My ramen was incredibly tasty. The noodles were done to a good consistency and the pork was nicely done with a very savory broth. The chicken was well cooked and tasty with a beautiful crunch. Unfortunately he said it didn't taste much like Japanese curry but was still very tasty and he ate all of it. He is not someone who eats something just because it is put in front of him so he definitely enjoyed. We got vanilla mochi for dessert which was delicious as well. Best of all, on tap Sapporo. First place we've found it on tap since Hokkaido. We are definitely excited we found this place and planning to come back. Excited to see what new offerings will be on full opening!
