The miso soup was good, like anywhere else. The salad was not the best at all, I had a few bites. The lettuce was not fresh and on top of that the dressing was not too tasty. Well tonight we got there 20 minutes before closing, open sign on and sign on the door said open. When we got to the door, the man ran to the door and asked if we were ordering. We said yes and very rudely said we're closed, we are tired and have been on our feet for 6 hours and shut the door, then switched the sign and turned off the open light. You will see that I have done great reviews in the past. Well there is other sushi restaurants in the area that are great. Food was absolutely terrible.. I cannot believe that the sushi was as bad as it was and the short ribs was even worse.. I don't know if it was the staff working tonight or what but this is bad. I am 5 months pregnant and ordered the short ribs. They came covered in some type of splintered wood, not sure how they cooked it but it was not good it was raw and all fat. Definitely do not recommend. My daughter loves sushi but would not eat this because her California roll was soggy, falling apart and tasted sweet. We called to ask for a refund if we brought it back but they said they can only give store credit. Why would we want that if there would be a chance we would get such bad food again. The receipt was even checked off. I figured they knew how to count. But at home I opened the container and instead of 4 sake pieces, there were just 2 pieces. i.e. one order. The girl that answered the phone told me that Nigiri only comes in one piece. $5.50 for one piece of salmon sushi? Nigiri, like the pictures of it on their website and every other sushi website in the world show, comes in 2 pieces. How does she not know this? She handed me over to the manager, who told me I must have been charged for only one. I wasn't. Her box, her and my receipts showed 2 Sake. When she looked up the order she then said that they're having software issues. Sorry, but correctly cross-checking the receipts should have caught this. My wife also noted they put a hot roll in the same container as the cold sushi. What decent sushi chef does that? I know they don't include miso soup on to-go dinner orders, but they used to still include the salad. Our other dinner item was missing it's salad too. Lastly, there were no chopsticks or soy sauce packets suggested or provided. At least ask if we need some. Details. Service. There was only one occupied table, and no other orders on the to-go rack. They were not exactly busy yet they were making many mistakes that could have been avoided had they been a little more attentive. The manager did complete a refund over the phone for the missing Nigiri. I overlooked the mistakes the first time. But a second time, with even more mistakes, is a pattern. My go to is always a miso soup, wakame (seaweed) salad, and the Michelle roll. The rolls are super filling where I only need to order one and be stuffed. They are bigger than other rolls where you can definitely be filled up with two (if ordering nothing else). The daily special rolls on the chalk board are usually some of the biggest rolls where you need 2-3 bites per piece. Some popular ones there are the Allen and cupcake roll. But if you like a mixture of raw fish, avocado and yummy sauces, then I definitely recommend the Michelle roll. This place is pretty pricey so it's easy to rack up the bill when you're excited, so beware - this has definitely happened to me... Each roll can range from $9 - $17 (with the special rolls on the top half of the spectrum). But it is not short in delivering you of your sushi craving. read more

This was my first time returning, after a few years of not visiting this restaurant. I was shocked at how messy and unorganized the restaurant was. The sushi chef was shockingly combative as we entered the restaurant because we did not have a reservation for our party of 9 (5 kids and 4 adults). There was plenty of space for us, so we were confused as to why they were hesitant to seat us. He then said that we would be charged 20% up charge for having a party more than 5 at a table.... Ok fine, we will sit at two different tables then. Once we sat down, the tables were sticky, menus were dirty and obviously not wiped down. The servers are young and obviously not familiar with the food industry. We were brought the wrong food and drinks. And when questioned, she said Oh that's not my fault .... Uhhh.... The table I sat at, had all of their rolls 10 minutes before mine came out. The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars, was because of the PA PA San roll. It was pretty good, scallops were fresh. Sushi chef was not wearing a mask?! The sushi chef was speaking negatively about our tables in Spanish, like we couldn't understand what he was saying. Very disappointed and we will not be returning. In this cold weather, I wanted some hot soup and noodles to warm up. I ordered the tempura udon which they served the tempura on the side. I took it to go and it was still hit when I got home. The portion was large which was nice and they gave one tempura shrimp and an assortment of vegetables. They tempura wasn't as crispy when I got home which is to be expected.
