Came here for lunch with a friend and it was a pretty good choice. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars but since we can't do halves, it's a solid 3. I don't know if what we got was worth the $20/plate but I understand times are rough and restaurants need to increase prices. However, it was pretty expensive for not a lot of food that was just decent. She had gotten the khao soi and I got pad keemao. Noodle dishes come with tofu already and it was great! The server didn't ask us for spice levels so I am not sure if that is an option. But my food was so so tasteless without spice, I had to douse it in chili flakes and sauce. As someone who has a lot of Thai friends, I don't understand how you can eat Thai food without spice... not vv good. The highlight is that the food is all vegan and didn't "taste" vegan. Ordered on a cold and snowy afternoon for delivery. Had the khao soi with fried tofu. Delivery was quick and everything was packaged well. Soup/broth was flavorful, not very spicy. It did have a slightly lemony taste to it, which I could do without. Liked the noodles and accompaniments it came with, especially the sprouts and red onion slices. I'm not vegan but my friends are so I went. Let me just break down my experience into bite sized chunks. 1) Appetizer: tofu sticks. It's literally fried tofu on a stick with sauce. It's good. But it was really expensive for what it was. 2) Tom Yum soup: watery tomato soup with a ton of random assorted hard veggies that are kind of hard to eat. 3) Fried rice: possibly some of the most bland and mushy fried rice I've had. The tofu was good though. 4) Spicy green curry: very spicy and pretty tasty. 5) Beer: tastes like beer. 6) Thai Ice Tea Alcohol drink: horrible bourbon milk tasting concoction Aside from that, we had two servers for some reason and they kept duplicating actions (tried to take our orders twice, tried to give us two bills, etc). The front door kept getting stuck ajar by unintelligent customers coming in, letting in a freezing draft. My go to spot for thai food. I have been ordering in this place since I moved to SLU, everything I have tried is really good, my favourite by far is the Pad See Ew. Usually they do takeout orders really fast, last time I ordered the Veggie Noodles it was ready in just 10 minutes. Today was my first time dining in. We went with some friends and the place was so nice! It does not have a lot of tables, but that makes it feel more exclusive and cozy. The attention was great and the service was also fast. Everyone enjoyed their food! From what I saw today, it got pretty crowded around 18:30-19. We got there at 17:45 and there was only one table apart from us, so keep those times in mind if you want to dine in. read more

Love the concept, but not the execution. Overall, they seem to just sub overly sweet or spicy flavors in anything that would normally have animal products (and even those that don't.) they miss the complexity and freshness of authentic Thai, which can be accomplished with good herbs, interesting sauces and other vegan approaches. For example, I go fresh herb rolls, but they were just iceberg lettuce, pre shredded carrots, red cabbage and unseasoned tofu with an overly sweet sauce. So no fresh herbs and no complexity. I really enjoy the vibe of this place. It's lively and there is good lighting. I wasn't overly impressed with the food. For apps we had the pot stickers and fresh garden rolls. Pot stickers were okay but the garden fresh rolls were delicious! For entrees I had the curry fried rice and the tofu was extremely bland and the rice was overcooked so it was a mushy texture fried rice. The pad Thai also tasted of too much lime. The dish we enjoyed was the khao soi noodles! They were very flavorful and I dipped my tofu in there for more flavor. One of my favorite vegan restaurants in Seattle! Kati Vegan is fun and casual, perfect for dinner with friends or a quick bite. It's conveniently located in South Lake Union, making it easy to get to and there's plenty of street parking around the corner. My go to order has been the basil fried rice with tofu. I love the blend of veggies that they add, and it has just the right amount of spice for me. One time they accidentally added jackfruit to my order when I didn't ask for it, and the staff were super friendly and helpful in getting it fixed. I'd also recommend their devil wings as an appetizer, and the Thai iced tea! Only marking down a star because the last few times I've been here my fried rice was really mushy, as if it was overcooked. Not sure if these were just isolated incidents or if they changed the recipe recently, as it did happen a couple of times. We had roasted hearts of artichoke, yellow curry with potatoes and tofu, pad tsee yu with Brócoli, Tofu and carrots. The artichoke was my favorite: crispy, flavorful and not heavy. I've had my fair share of vegan thai food but Kati just seems to disappoint. It wasn't inedible but there are so many amazing thai places in Seattle that either are vegan (Arayas) or serve vegan food. The noodles I got lacked flavor and the vegetables were barely cooked. The only thing I really enjoyed was the cauliflower bites. Which if you come here, I would recommend. This place has really great reviews though so it could be a one off day. Great Thai spot in Seattle and love that it's vegan as well! I came on a pretty cold day and chose to sit outdoors because of COVID, so I wanted something that would warm me up. After scrolling through photos on Yelp, I found just what I was looking for - a bowl of Khao Soi! It was my first time trying this dish, and it did not disappoint. I've ordered this at a few other Thai places since then, but so far the Khao Soi here is the best I've had. For drinks, I ordered the "Thairish Tea", which is thai tea with a shot of whiskey. We ordered the potstickers and garden rolls as appetizers, and they were definitely ready at appetizer speed. The potstickers were really good, with just the right level of crispness and a super delicious filling for not having any meat. The fresh rolls were good, though I do tend to prefer a more peanut heavy sauce, as this one was less creamy. The rolls themselves were herb heavy which I love, and I did really like them. For a main course I got the pad Thai, which as stated in their menu, was definitely different from any pad Thai that I had ever had. I will say that I did miss the egg that normal pad Thai comes with, but overall the tofu was able to substitute well enough! Their crispy tofu was super delicious and it was a good level of spice. I will saw that with the lime I definitely found the noodles a bit heavy on the acidic flavor, so perhaps needed a bit more on the fat element to balance out? Not sure. The noodles themselves were most definitely house made and they were super chewy compared to the normal noodle you might get in a pad Thai. Servers here are super friendly and the ambiance is beautiful, with both indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of plants to keep the interior feeling fresh. This is such a cute space! It's small but the lighting and the vibes are really nice. It's really pretty to look at. And it's all vegan! My yellow curry was chef kiss amazing! My friend never had vegan food before and he completely demolished his plate. It was so tasty and filling. I'm very pleased with my meal and the speed of everything.
