Kati is the place to go if you: a) have a large party b) need to make a reservation c) have at least one vegetarian in the group It takes reservations by phone and I luckily got a table for 8 on a busy Saturday night. It's by Amazon offices, and the prices are inflated accordingly--entrees go for $15+ and curries don't come with the typical complimentary rice. I've also been warned to stay away from the pad Thai. That aside, I shared a khao soi--curry with egg noodles and tofu and veggies. This was a well-balanced dish since we got fragrant spices, carbs, and protein all in one. Plus, the curry was so flavorful I was left scraping the bowl till the end! Dishes seem to be hit or miss, but the menu is so expansive that it'll please even the biggest meat-lover. While I wouldn't go out of my way to come here on my own, this would be my go-to for groups larger than 6 people. read more

So much flavor and such, clean, open environment vs. some of the other Asian vegan venues in the city which struggle with their vegan offerings. I'm a big fan of Kati Vegan Thai. My wife and brother are both vegan so we've been a few times in person and ordered takeout. It's some of the best Thai food I've had in Seattle, and the whole menu is vegan! My only qualm is that it can be a bit pricy and some of the appetizers/sides cost too much. ($3 /side of rice), but I'm happy to pay if it keeps this place running! On my most recent visit we ordered the Pad Thai and Pumpkin Curry, both of which were great! Ended up coming for HH one day and was surprised at how flavorful everything was! My favorites included the fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms, and tofu satay. I love the spicy flavors typically associated with Thai food and this place did not differ. Drinks were also tasty. Service was a little forgetful but overall very warm. I'm told that during lunch, there's a buffet where you can fill up one takeout box and one soup container as full as you'd like for one set price. It's also generally enough food for 2 meals. I love the devil wings! They are spicy and crispy, and so different! My favorite entree was the green curry! The eggplant is fried so it's not mushy, but the flavors are there and it is rich and so good with rice. On the other hand, I am a little disappointed with the pad kee mao, I expected more for a restaurant and its noodle dishes. "Kati" means coconut milk in Thai - What better represents Thai food than coconut milk really? You've gotta try this place if you love Thai food or just good food in general! Unlike traditional Thai restaurants, they have lots of other creative menu options. Plus the ambience in the restaurant is really nice. I am rarely in South Lake Union, and was excited to get to give this place a try. We showed up just before the rush and got seated right away. The space is small but well utilized and beautifully decorated. It does seem very loud in there, even when not crowded--some acoustics issue, but not a big deal. Service is fast and attentive. We got the portobello mushrooms and broccoli for an appetizer--WHOA! So flavorful and delicious. As a long time vegetarian, I have a lot of portobello trauma (remember when this was like our ONLY option???) but these are so good! Entrees were a little less exciting but still fresh and flavorful. We didn't get dessert but a table near us did and it looked great and I was jealous. Khao soi has a good flavor and a bit on the spicier side if you don't like spicy. The server did warn us it has a kick of spice...a kick on a high note. I added artichoke hearts in the Khao soi as I love artichoke. The red raw onion is a good add to it...you would need to put noodles, onion, beansprouts in the spoon to get one bite of all texture and flavor. Delish! read more

Firstly, I love vegetarian/vegan food. Not a vegetarian or vegan, but I love when it's done well to emphasize the beauty of vegetables. The food was tasty, and accentuated the vegetables quite well. They offered a variety of common and unique Thai dishes. I got Khao Soi and my wife got pad see ew, and we shared tofu satay. The khao soi had tasty, rich curry broth. Neither too sweet nor too salty. I wish it was a bit more spicy, but it had plenty of flavor which worked quite well with the noodle. The pad see ew was very good. The noodle was cooked perfectly, and the medium spicy had a decent amount of kick. The roasty flavor worked really well. One thing that was a little disappointing was just lack of veggies. It was mostly noodle, and didn't have much veggies. The tofu satay was quite good. I think they used soft tofu, but I felt that it was little too soft. Not much of texture besides the outer fried texture. It would've been better with firm tofu with "meaty" texture. Overall, I was quite satisfied with their offerings. While I do love conventional meat, I'd be happy to visit Kati again for quality vegan food. I wouldn't miss meat at all while I'm here. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for months. I finally made the drive to Seattle to get the Pad see ew & veggie noodle soup. This photos was taken when I got it, just a few minutes after my order was ready. I felt like there should of been more broth like the photos from Facebook they post. (I'm going to post the photo of the soup from their fb to show the difference.)I thought the glass noodles would be thick, like the Korean type but these noodles seemed more like vermicelli noodles. The broth was bland & I had to throw some spices into it. I should add that I did sub broccoli for mushrooms & celery. I don't know why I got so much green onion when I didn't ask for it, and it doesn't mention it on the description. The pad see ew noodles were all broken up and short. On their website it says "wide noodles", the noodles I received were not thick. The flavor was okay, but I've def had much better. I wasn't a fan of the fake egg (I think it was tofu). I would of requested that it didn't have that if I would of known they were going to put it in. Also, their outside dining option isn't really outside dining. It's just to go (you order online) and they have a few tables outside for you to sit at. Located in South Lake Union this Vegas restaurant is a surprise as it serves their style of Thai food. Replacing meat with jackfruit. Their Thai ice tea and coffee and classic and delicious. This was my first time trying jackfruit. I now can see why people use this as a meat substitute. The staff is very friendly and even made sure I got my hat back after leaving. I highly recommend trying this restaurant and then crossing the street to the public garden. First time here after a co-worker couldn't stop raving about their food. Kati's is on Meal Pal, so my co-worker constantly has this at least once a week. We went as a group of 4 and got seated quick enough. It wasn't too crowded even at peak lunch time hours. We opted for the menu and sit-down instead of the buffet, but I am really intrigued and want to try that next. Seems like a great, flat-fee way to try a wider selection of their menu because I'm very intrigued! I had the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) and was super satisfied. I love the thick noodles and portobello mushrooms! Serving sizes were large so I ended up having leftovers, just enough for lunch the next day + a pot sticker. My co-workers had the pumpkin curry (highly reviewed), yellow curry (finished the whole bowl), and Old-Style Pad Thai (also inhaled). We split an appetizer of the pot stickers and spring rolls. I'm usually a pot sticker fan over spring rolls, especially if they are just veggies, but these spring rolls changed my mind! I'll definitely be getting another order of those next time I'm in. A couple coworkers had an adult beverage and the Blood Orange (maybe) Margarita was really good! Solid pour and good flavors. I don't remember the other one, so can only recommend the marg. It was same co-worker's birthday. The server overheard us cheers-ing to her and brought her a dessert! Coconut ice cream with some sort of caramel/toffee drizzle! So cute and so thoughtful! Really appreciated the attention! Great, polite staff who went above and beyond! My only complaint was the wait time. What an awesome place to get your lunch on a weekday in SLU! We went to grab lunch for a small team celebration and all of us enjoyed eating there so much and loved this place (it was the first time for all of us at Kati). The staff was super nice. We were 5 min early before they opened, but they let us sit and thr table, got us our drinks and watch them prepare the buffet line. The food selection was so good, ranging from noodles/rice dishes and side salad/appetizers/stirfried dishes to soups and even desserts! It's definitely with the price of $13pp (excl taxes/tips). We were all super excited and very happy with the taste (and healthiness) of the food there...so much that we each ate 2 plateful of lunch PLUS another cup of dessert! :))) Of course, later that day, we all had food coma after eating so much there. I adore with this place and would definitely love stop by for this great lunch deal again. Basing my review primarily on bad service. The first time we came it was packed and we gave them the Beni fit of the doubt. They messed up orders and the food came out very slow. The second time we were only three tables and they completely messed up the order. We waited for 30 mins only to find out they marked our order complete on their system. We lost appetite and left with only kids eaten. My husband and I did not get our food. The deal breaker - no apology or anything. Regarding the food- the devils wings is really good. The tum kha soup is good. The coconut ice cream is alright. We also tried their drunken noodles which is good. Over all I would probably recommend the place. As a non-vegan, I can't believe I'm saying this but it's quite good. Ordered a few noodle dishes and curry dishes. I would say the curry is spectacular and noteworthy. The noodle dishes were average to say the least compared to other non vegan Thai places in Seattle. I would come here again for curry but take out because a small bowl of rice is 3 buck which is predatory in my opinion because you can't eat curry without rice. And the curry does not come with rice. The green curry was the best dish here. Good spice and flavor. Curry 5/5 however rice prices -1/5. I give this place a 4/5. read more

We were still hungry so we ordered rice and tofu skewers. The tofu skewers were the best part thanks to the peanut sauce it came with.
