Really, truly the best donuts (and donut holes) in Austin. Hmm, maybe in Texas? My husband was in St. David's South after an auto accident and I wanted to take donuts to the trauma team, the ER department and 7th floor staff to thank them for helping him. I didn't get home till late and couldn't order in advance (the proper thing to do, obviously, for a large order). I arrived just when they opened and a few people were already there, but they took the time to make me 3 big boxes of donuts and donut holes of all different kinds. Of course I had to have my own little bag of donut holes, powdered sugar, cinnamon and oh yeah the BIG yeast donut holes. I was in heaven and the staff at St David's thought I was maybe an angel:} Ha! Make yourself happy. Make other happy. Be good to yourself, get your donuts at KC Donuts. The only issue is that you may find yourself obsessing over them, so you just have to return and get more donuts! read more

Yum! Finally made it down South to go here. And boy and I'm glad I did. I mean donuts are all the same aren't they, absolutely not and K C Donut is one that will show you it's different. There is something for everyone. The donut holes here are fluffy lovable balls of dough they are the lightest things ever and super tasty. The cinnamon roll here is absolutely delicious. It's huge too! The fritter is also amazing. I also got a croissant sandwich as well and it was amazing too! The owner? lady was super nice! She was patient and they have such a great selection of items that I wish I lived closer or they opened one up north near me! Great and delicious all around. The price is fantastic too! Love it! Wonderful donut, quick, efficient service, and wow do they know how to make a pretty display! There were too many varieties to choose from in one go, which was heartbreaking. Awesome little stealth donut place with excellent donuts and sneaky spicy kolaches. It has that old Austin feel I treasure and worry is leaving us as the days pass. The only reason I give it four stars is that there's usually a limited selection so I haven't had a chance to really experience all their donut magic. The donuts are better than Shipley's. I give them that. But their customer service is not good at all. The lady with the sunglasses is rude and the guy just stands there staring. Unfortunately this is the main donut shop in our area and I don't even feel like walking in there anymore, because they never have anything but cake donuts from when they open. It's a frustrating venture every time. As for their hours, that's wrong too. They say they open at 6:30, but they don't actually open until 7 or later. AHHHHH MAZING but damn.. when do they open?! You'll find several things online but nothing is accurate. Even the door opening times have been removed and the times open here are incorrect too. I know this because at 615 I drove past an open Shipley's thinking it'd be worth it to wait 15 min until KC opened at 630. One hour later at 7:15 they flipped on the light. Yay! The lady confirmed that they 'usually try to open between 7-715'. I forgot to ask her what days they're closed but I think it's Monday, Tuesday, or both. Also they had everything available except regular glazed donuts and donut holes. Of course the only reason I was there She told me that 'regular donuts aren't ever ready until about 8:30' SOB! I was eating practically next door at Evangeline's Cafe, a wonderful place by the way, when I saw I was next to KC Donuts and decided to stop in for some kolaches. Unfortunately they were out of the kolaches so I decided to get a half dozen donut holes and a couple of old fashioned donuts instead. We must have had a communication error because I ended up with only one old fashioned donut but it was good. I split it with my daughter. Maybe if I get back to Evangeline's I'll stop in KC Donuts again and see if they have any kolaches. In the meantime I I happened to be driving past another donut shop down the street so I went ahead and got some there to hold me. There's often a line out the door because these unpretentious donuts are legit the fluffiest. No weird or creative toppings--just good donuts. The fresh yeast donuts almost get crushed when you pick them up because they're so soft. I recently tried their blueberry old-fashioned cake donut, and may have found a new favorite! The donut holes are ginormous and are a delightful combination of crisp outer layer and soft inside. I usually grab a breakfast taco and an iced coffee, in addition to a donut, and it's around $6. I mean, I was on a diet and craving donuts and I accidentally searched for donuts on yelp when I was visiting my friend in Austin, so it kind of fell on my lap. In a city full of overpriced fancy donuts with cereal and other unnecessary toppings, KC takes you back to awesome basic glazed donuts at fair prices. There are the fluffiest motherf#$% donuts I've ever had. It's like eating a delicious deep fried fattening cloud covered in sugar. My friends loved them, and they are kind of mad at me for finding them because they live less than a mile away and they are now addicted. We ate KC's 2 days on a row. We tried their glazed, chocolate, chocolate eclair, giant cinnamon rolls, egg and cheese croissants, pig in a blanket and maple/bacon donuts. Everything was incredible. I absolutely love this place. All the doughnuts are wonderful. The yeast doughnuts of Austin! . It's a classic traditional doughnut and they have just the recipe for such a tasty treat. The lady that owns / works here is super sweet!!!! She has been serving me for over the past 10-15 years and always tosses me a doughnut hole or two for the ride. Ok I like this place's food but they need to figure out what days they are going to close. In town to spend the week living like the locals. We wanted a highly rated shop with fast breakfast items. Kolaches, croissants, and donuts are popular options. We tried most of them in our group. Loved the pigs in a blanket the most. I ordered ham/cheese/jalapeño but mistakenly was served sausage. A happy accident because I loved it the most. My son was not a big fan of the sausage kolache. He said there wasn't much inside, just bread. Donuts were soft and doughy. Lacking cinnamon flavor in cinnamon roll. I thought it was more of a glazed donut :/ Overall, I can tell this is a popular shop from the constant flow of customers while we were there. KC is the best of south austin! Always so nice and the donuts are always amazing! Do yourself a favor wait till around 7:45 and go and enjoy the amazingly fresh donuts.
