Ahh... after years of searching, I have found a rival for Round Rock Donuts. KC makes great raised donuts - I was in heaven when I bit into the strawberry glazed one. The dough is so soft and gives into the bite... a heavenly experience. Their cases of donuts look all freshly made, not like they have been sitting our for half a day. I love freshly made anything and this checks the box. I also tried Boston creme, which was a thicc donut. It was tasty but I wish it was a little smaller so it could be more flavorful/manageable to eat. The cake donuts are goo, not great. They are too sweet, especially the maple one. My partner tried their kolache and he loved it. The workers were very helpful and even though there was a line, it moved quickly on the weekend day that we dropped by.

The perfect powdered donut holes do exist. Crispy and powdery goodness, here! They have kolaches pigs in a blanket, tacos and other savory items aside from the donuts. Friendly and fast staff. This place has become our staple go-to on Saturday mornings. Have tried at least 6 other donut places in Austin, and we finally found our donut place!

Cute little donut shop on Brodie Lane. There is always a line but it moves quickly. I am not a huge sweets fan but I wish I was because everything in the case looks amazing. I got a jalapeño and cheese kolache and it was fantastic.

Easy to see why KC Donuts always has a line! I literally see people either a) come in and take the wait or b) step out of their cars, see the line & leave. KC Donuts has more than just donuts (& those donuts aren't basic either). KC Donuts offers fresh-to-be-made Breakfast Tacos, a variety of gourmet donuts (maple bacon, lemon, blueberry lemon, etc), kolaches, AND MORE. My personal favorite is a classic-- the glazed donut. However, I highly highly recommend ordering the massive Texas-Sized Donut Holes!!!! Also, the Breakfast Tacos and salsa were perfect. You basically order what you want to be made. It does take a bit of time since once again, these need to be made. Kolaches were meh to me, as the ratio of bread/sausage had too much breading. They also have Pigs-in-a-Blanket, but these babies run out fast! Please note: KC Donuts is a small mom & pop shop owned by immigrants. Super sweet people. Be patient & kind, as they are doing their best!

I ordered my tried and true Miss Shortcake with their famous cake donut with cream cheese icing and fresh cut strawberries. The donut is so indulgent and was served warm with the most delectable flavor combinations. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. The audacity Story time, Today I went to the original Round Rock location, downtown Round Rock, to buy my son's birthday donuts, It's tradition. Every year on his birthday he gets a dozen half glazed and half chocolate frosted donuts. Then I get a kolache and a dozen donut holes for myself. Well when I pulled up today the line was wrapped around all the way to Mays street. So I just followed the line of cars and got in line. You'd think that a line that long would take a long time but.... Round Rock donuts has this process down to a T. It took less than 10 minutes to get through that line and get my order. And those donuts came out hot and fresh. So did my kolache. Anywho, Don't let the lines scare you away, Just jump in and know they're going to move quickly. Also, If you're planning an office event or any type of event and you want donuts and coffee or kolaches donuts and coffee, Round Rock donuts offers a great menu for large orders and also they have a cake menu for custom cake orders. If you don't want to stay in line in your car you can also park wherever you can find a spot and go to the walk-up ordering window, It's shaded and there's plenty of space to hang out while your order is being made and brought out to you. All this to say, It's a Round Rock Donut, Happy Birthday to my Son!

Why am I going to one in Austin? Well, it's because I am a completeist and I try to go to as many Voodoo Doughnut locations as I can. Austin has two locations but Steve was only willing to tolerate going to one location so we went here. The doughnuts are going to be about the same as any other location however I did come across one that I haven't seen before. I am not sure if it was limited edition or what but I liked it. It was kind of take on a Black Forest Cake but it wasn't cherries that were on top of the doughnut and cream. It was more like blueberries. It was good and I am glad I tried it! I was really hoping to see the Ring of Fire Doughnut as it's my favorite but I didn't see it here. I got more of a powdered doughnut too as I do like their more basic doughnuts too. Steve got something that almost was like a Dubai-esque Chocolate Doughnut. It had pistachios on it and was a chocolate cake. That one was good too! Atmosphere is weird and quirky like all of their locations try to be which I can appreciate. So if you are addicted to Voodoo Doughnuts or have been wanting to try them but don't plan any PNW trips then definitely swing by the Texas locations. More and more locations are popping up all of the time!

A good size and not a weak donut. I did a fancy chocolate cake donut of the Butterfinger kind. A fantastic blend of a good chocolate cake and the touch of peanut from the crisp. A good combo of about 50/50 share of flavor. Focusing on the cake donut resulted in a favorable chocolate cake donut. Freshness is key. Lastly was a buttermilk bar. Good, just good. I know where to get great. You'll have to read my other donut posts to find out where. Just good. Glaze could improve and the complete cool through would be helpful. The dough was alright, not bad. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!

We were on Rainey street for SXSW and I had seen several people with the pink bag with a dog stamped on the front and wanted to see what all the hype was about. Everything was made fresh to order, so there's a bit of a wait, but it's worth it when you get them hot. I tried the Italian cream cake donuts. They have specialty flavors that were $1 more and all of them were appealing to me. Unfortunately, you can not order a sampler pack of different flavors and have to just pick one flavor which is why I am giving 4 stars. My recommendation would be to offer a sampler pack as to not have to commit to one flavor. The pink dog stamped package came with multiple tiny donuts inside. They were freshly made, soft, and served warm. My friend ordered the regular donuts and I have to say that I didn't notice the Italian cream cake flavor as much as I would have liked compared to the original. There was a good balance of sweetness and a creamy, slightly rich profile without feeling overly heavy. The mini size is perfect because you can try a few without feeling like you've gone overboard and it is great for sharing. Overall, Little Lucy's is a solid dessert stop when you want something warm, fresh and satisfying. I would not recommend paying extra for the specialty flavors like Italian cream cake donuts and will just go with the original donuts in the future.
