Kebab bar reminds of eating at your uncles house who got the recipes from his mom but probably doesn't reproduce them quite as well - 3 1/2 stars. Don't get me wrong it's pretty good, but some items are not well seasoned and can be very bland. The Koobedeh is the go to item for your kebab fix, feels like home cooking. I've tried other kebab items and they were bland not as well seasoned but the quality of the meat was great and juicy, just wish it was seasoned well. Even the sides can be a bit bland. Overall good quality meats, nice people, fair price, good portion. Support a small business! read more

I stopped in on a Saturday evening and ordered the shrimp kabob. The restaurant was lonely and there was grime and left over foodstuffs on the table, with no apparent desire to clean them off. This should have been the first red flag. An hour after ordering my food, I became violently ill and had to pull over to vomit several times. I believe the culprit was the sauce that was used on the shrimp; I believe the sauce was contaminated because I poured it over the basmati rice and probably ended up making myself more sick. I would avoid this place at all costs since the resataurant is not only dirty but I believe they don't use proper food handling techniques because I am not the only patron that has gotten violently ill after eating here. You are way safer eating from the Del Taco or the fast food places around the corner. If you have enemies you might want to consider recc'ing this place, but I would not recc this place to someone you care about. read more

Just had a delicious dinner and so excited to have found a great new local Mediterranean spot. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. I tried the chicken and lamb kebabs along with the Greek salad, eggplant dip, hummus and French fries. Everything was wonderful. Usually this place is good I haven't been back since they remodeled. I went today for some fries and a soda ,ordering through yelp, got there when it was ready. The lady behind the counter had an attitude grabbed my food n left. We ordered three combos. I thought the beef was moist and had lots of flavor. The lunch special (around $12) came with salad, pita, and a boatload of rice. The falafel was also pretty good also. perfectly crisp. That came with a tajini sauce. I did not try the chicken but it looked good. We forgot to order a small side of hummus, and the owner was gracious even to give it to us free of charge. We also told him it was my birthday, and he gave us my lunch for free. Very nice gesture. One of the best persian kebabs I've ever had! I got the chicken kebab which was extremely juicy and had a lot of flavor. The rice was also some of the best persian rice I've ever had. Ordered food for the office, online wait said 15 minutes, got there and food was not ready, i didnt mind i figured it was a large order however that should be updated on their website, as i waited the nice cashier mention 8 minutes (def longer) i noticed the lunch specials, i mentioned it to her that i didnt see that online and she quickly responded we dont want to advertise that price. Hmm okay, i really feel if they advertised lunch specials they would probably sell more, $22 dollars vs $12 for a lunch portion def would make me come back, also there was hardly any room to sit and wait. Newly opened in place of the defunct Flame Broiler is The Kebab Bar -- Fresh Mediterranean (although their first location at 1535 N. Newly remodeled, clean and bright, The Kebab Bar will now be your go-to for tasty and fresh Mediterranean food. And the owners are on hand to see it is provided -- so happy and friendly, they are welcome albeit masked faces in the bleak reality of COVID. The food is, in a word, scrumptious. I have never had a more creamy or smooth hummus, with a hint of nutty goodness and artistically garnished with unique spices and kalamata olives. The menu features standard Mediterranean fare, but done to perfection! The chicken koobideh, served with two skewers of well seasoned ground chicken, a fire-grilled, juicy Roma tomato, perfect rice, and another side of your choice, is to die for. The falafel balls are generous and seasoned just so and tasty and the tahini resembles smooth, olive flavored peanut butter. The gyro, traditional beef and lamb is generous and full of flavor. They also have salmon, shrimp,Cornish game hen (a whole small chicken per meal), beef and even filet mignonette (barg) kebab plates. The usual sides of Greek or garden salad, stuffed grape leaves (dolmas), cucumber yogurt, eggplant spread, and even crunchy seasoned fries are all there and all excellent. The three times (so far) I visited, they were out of tabouleh (parsley, tomato and bulgar wheat salad) but that is just a testimonial to how great it must be. I can't wait to try it. Last,y, even though the basmati saffron rice that comes with each plate is tender and savory, don't miss out on the addition of a specialty rice (with barberries or Lima beans) for a mere additional $3. The delightful flavor and surprise ingredients are well worth the surcharge. I did not try the desserts, but they have their own Turkish coffee ice cream, baklava (of course), pastry, and sorbet. The prices are so reasonable that next time, I will add dessert for sure.
