He is either a deceptive crook or really dumb. He messed up my axle. Had me change strut bolt without even asking me, and apparently I did not need it. Did not put my brake pads correctly and put cheap/incorrect ones. He gets your trust by doing cheap oil changes. read more

When my mom brought her car here, Simon (the owner) told her, "I charge a little more than other places, but my service is the best." Despite this "quality" service, my mom was not able to start her car again after driving home from Kersy. Turns out he switched out a part that was perfectly fine instead of fixing the real problem. (We ended up going to another auto repair shop to get the REAL problem fixed.) My thoughts are that Simon may have taken advantage of us (and our lack of auto experience). I brought Melly Mel's car here for a 100K service a couple weeks ago, and it was completed by end of day! When I went to pick up the car, Simon said he found a crack in the catalytic converter (which caused a rumbling sound that I thought was normal for her car) and welded it closed! Found about this place through a Yelp search. A coworker noticed that my car had warped rotors. So I went on a Saturday morning with my dad. We eneded up being the first ones there. Simon quickly shaved the warped rotors and took it out for a test drive, while my dad and I waited at the shop. He also noticed that the car was missing a boot thingy on the front right wheel area (sorry, I know nothing bout cars). When Simon drove the car back to the driveway, he sped the car and did a very sudden stop at the end of the driveway. Then he said the steering wheel was still shaking, so he said it must be the back rotors. He was unable to check the back wheels so he told us he'd call us later the day when it's done. Turns out my back brakes were worn out too. All in all, Simon is an awesome mechanic! Oh if anyone is wondering, he is also fluent in Mandarin. read more

This is the second time I have went to Simon for any repair work... And might I add he literally is a good honest mechanic. He will let you know exactly what the problem is, even if you know what your going to see him for originally. I just recently took my 94' Isuzu Trooper to him for a clutch job (minus the master cylinder since I just installed it the same day) and everywhere else I quoted for prices, he still by far beat other mechanics prices by $400!!! Not only did I pay $750 for the clutch kit but he even installed the clutch slave for only $50 on top the total pricing for the clutch and it was ready the very NEXT DAY. I HIGHLY recommend this auto shop for any Japanese car let alone other imports as well. Simon is a honest guy and could burn you but he keeps it relatively real nonetheless. read more

Having issues with my brakes and warped rotors on a 2007 Honda Civic, I found Kersy Auto Repair through a search on foreign auto mechanics. Called in the morning and went an hour later, and Simon greeted me and quickly inspected the trouble areas. He kindly informed me that the brake pads and rotors still had some life and that machining the rotors would be possible. He explained his rates and how they would affect the labor and parts cost, which were all reasonable. (Ultimately, he even went as far as to cancel the OEM brake pads order I had requested earlier on the phone!) Simon proceeded to do the work on the spot and re-installation of the smooth rotors was done within an hour (most of which was removing crappy Honda rotor screws, a known issue). Good, honest work, with no upselling or misdirection (in fact, quite the opposite). I'd happily recommend Kersy Auto Repair based on my experience. read more

I've gotten my Lexus IS250 2008 repaired at different places over the several years at "diamond" ranked places and it always ended up costing an arm and a leg. Fast forward to meeting Simon through a friends referral, he's personable and gets the work done quick for a fraction of the cost. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you, he's great at diagnosing issues fast and is transparent about the problem. When I had an issue with starting the car, he quickly noted which of my spark plugs were malfunctioning and noted when it was my cars sensor that needed updating instead. I got referred here from my brother-in-law since his family goes there for all cars not under warranty. I have taken my car there 4 times for maintenance and repair and he does a good job. He'll give you an honest quote over the phone and not recommend anything that isn't absolutely necessary. e.g. I went somewhere else and a guy told me I needed a lot of work by replacing oil pan, head gasket, belts and some other things that was like $500; I took the car to Kersey and he told me that it wasn't something I needed to do right away and recommended waiting until I replace my timing belt since I could save a lot of money on labor by doing the work all at once. This is the kind of feedback and advice I need from an honest mechanic. In addition I took my Integra in because it had a check engine light and I wasn't able to go and do a smog test since it would automatically fail. He got a code reader and found out the exact cause and let me know what part I needed to replace. He quoted me the part with service and told me he could have it delivered by noon. I wasn't even finished with lunch and he had my car fixed along with an oil change. I haven't had the engine light come back on and the car is running smooth. He even advised that I don't do a smog test until after driving the car for three days in order to let the oxygen sensor settle in. All in all, this guy is efficient and takes care of you and your car needs. He's not the best with English but he can get the message across without issues. I think he'll even help troubleshoot your code errors for check engine light and provide an estimate in addition to telling you the exact problem since he did that for me. read more

I can attest to the reviews here - on my second visit I brought my 10 year old car in for checkup (only 45k miles ask only drive it infrequently). He inspected the car and told me it's in good shape and asked if (and I confirmed) I have been doing regular oil change maintenance. He didnt charge me for this inspection. The thing that stood out most about Kersy was their honesty. We took in our '96 accord after calling a couple places and getting a quote that was HALF the other place we took it to get checked out. He said that other place is quoting you way too much so we thought we would have him take a look. We told him we needed a new clutch and starter (based on what others had told us- all we knew is the clutch wasn't working and the car had been hard to start the past months). After he looked at our car he said all you need is a master cylinder for the clutch replaced that is also causing the car to be stubborn to turn on. All in all we thought we would be paying over $1000 and ended up paying less than $300. We will definitely come back to Kersy!! read more
