They aren't large portions, but they do some with flavor, lol. We really wanted to try the smoked salmon sandwich, but they were all out. We ended up getting the grilled cheese and the avocado toast, and both were so delicious! That was probably one of the most unique and delicious grilled cheeses I've ever had. The service was great! Given that it's a Chef Michael Solomonov establishment (like Dizengoff and Zahav), I had high expectations and I can say that K'Far's pastries definitely met them. My friend took me to k'far as part of a quick, whirlwind tour of Philly, esp cause I have an affinity towards pastry and baked goods. The space is small but very aesthetic, we just took food to go eat at Rittenhouse park as it was a beautiful day. There was a bit of a line but it went quick for togo orders and the staff was nice and quick. Foodwise, I got the pistachio sticky bun and it was amazing. It was very light and fluffy even though it was basically soaked in a syrup/caramel. The bottom got perfectly crispy caramelization and the pistachios added a nice nutty crunch as well. I also tried the Jerusalem bagel and it was just as amazing. The scallion butter and lox worked so well on the thin and crispy sesame bagel. I was in Philly for work and wanted to grab breakfast and a lunch item to-go, so I made a detour to K'far and was so pleased with everything from the staff and options available to the speed of service and quality of the food. My Jerusalem bagel came with three different types of labneh and it was...DIVINE. I also got an Arabic Salad that was yummy and a spinach and feta bourekah to take on the road with me for my drive home. The iced coffee was also delicious. For those four things (three food items and one drink) it was around $34 before tip. Very reasonable, very high quality, even/especially as take-away. read more

4.5 stars! My friend once brought me a chocolate babka from here and it was the most amazing thing I had ever tasted, so I knew I had to come find it whenever I made a trip to Philly. My partner and I came for breakfast around 9am and the cafe was pretty empty except a few people ordering takeout. We seated ourselves at a table and ordered through the QR code, instead of with the cashier at the front. The food took a while to come out, which was a little weird since I thought all the pastries were in the case at the front, but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal. - Yemenite latte: you could really taste all the spices in this! I wish the coffee flavor was stronger, but I liked how it was so unique and different from the coffee I usually drink. - Jerusalem bagel with scallion cream cheese: I had never heard of this before, but I definitely need more after trying it. I loved how soft the bagel was and the cream cheese had a great, light flavor. - Chocolate rugelach: since I couldn't get my beloved babka, I ordered this to satisfy my chocolate craving. It was rich without being overly sweet and the perfect bite size for breakfast. - Walnut cinnamon babka: this was too walnut-y for me, but my partner really liked it! The texture was so soft and moist inside too. This was a super cute spot for breakfast with yummy food, and I would def come back to try more of the menu next time I'm in town. I'd been looking forward to trying this place since seeing someone online eating at the Brooklyn location. I love bourekas and these did not disappoint, although the potato was significantly more flavorful than the artichoke (both have potato inside, which is typical of bourekas). The avocado toast was fantastic, as was the rugelach and apple babka. The Jerusalem bagel was good too, but make sure you like the seasoning before your order. The problem really is with the service, which is atypical. The Staff is polite, but do nothing over the bare minimum. Although the restaurant does advertise the service charge, and the $15 minimum wage for their employees, out of habit I tipped 20%, prior to service (so, that's on me), because you have to order online. I couldn't then pull it back. What a mistake. The servers hand you food. One who brought coffee agreed to bring sweetener, and then did not. We ordered some from the bar. We ran out of water and someone took the bottle without saying anything but didn't bring more water. We asked for a knife and someone did bring us one. So, that was a win! In any case, the food is fantastic. Just as I'd hoped it would be. I'd definitely return, but alter my expectations that this is not a full service establishment. read more

Possibly my favorite bakery in Philadelphia! K'far is wonderful bakery located in the heart of center city. Their best pastry by far is the pistachio sticky bun - ooey gooey and ever so soft! The Jerusalem bagels are also delicious! Their seating outdoors allows you to order on the app (or you can walk inside to the counter). Alas, I was able to check K'Far off of my wish list. I came here during a busy Monday morning and was greeted with a smile by the cashier. He patiently waited for me to order and answered questions about the menu. I got the Yemenite latte, Jerusalem egg and cheese bagel, and pistachio bun. Everything was a solid 10/10! The flavors and freshness were unmatched, and the portion sizes were great. Decided to go here on a whim for breakfast and it was incredibly busy so the wait was at least an hour! I was intrigued by the Kubaneh toasts that were offered here, particularly the brown sugar toast with figs on top. Another toast we ordered had persimmon! Super chic atmosphere perfect for a cute lunch! I sat outside in the shaded area with plenty of chairs. Inside is pretty small, so I wouldn't recommend groups bigger than 4. I was able to work remotely from outside. Note: they don't have their own wifi, but Target is close enough to reach! I was able to do phone calls and large video calls, if that's any indication of the wifi strength. I had the salmon "bagel" which was delicious. It's not a bagel, but sesame bread. Only tip would be less grease on the outside of the bread. The pistachio sticky bun was large and delicious as well. They had a huge selection of drinks including some cocktails as well.
