My group and I ordered coffees to go when the hostess let us know the wait was ~45 mins [but could be less]. We waited for 20 mins before a table opened up. They have a QR code sign for the menu and ordering/paying - each person at the table can order and pay separately if they want, or pass one phone around the table to order. My co-workers/friends and I decided to walk over to this place, as they had been there before and highly recommended it. I can now see why! It's so gorgeous inside, and I love the font of the logo and the signs inside. Very cute! There is booth/chair seating, in addition to bar seats and even a seating area further inside. Another delightful CookNSolo restaurant --- I loved all of the food and will certainly rave about that, but docked a star for the overall experience of dining at the restaurant on a Sunday for brunch (admittedly, in large part due to the consequences of my own choices). Honestly, I think if I lived close enough to do take-out or to stop by on a weekday, all would be forgiven. We arrived shortly after 10am on a Sunday morning to a completely chaotic setting. Tables were jam-packed, there was a line extending from the counter out the door, and multiple people lining the walls and spilling out onto the sidewalk. There was a vague "for seating, see staff" sign with no clear staff to be seen. After hovering in other people's personal space for a few minutes, I saw a staff member with an iPad who I was able to flag down to put in our name. Initially, we were told it would be 30-45 min for a 2 person table (understandable seeing the crowd), so we went to a nearby restaurant to grab a cocktail --- only to then chug the drinks because we were texted to come back 15 minutes later. I'm not at all upset about the shorter wait and I know it's not always predictable, but I'd definitely think twice about waiting at the restaurant or not on a future visit. When we arrived back, we had a similar few chaotic minutes of trying to locate a staff member to be shown to our table. Once we were seated, we used the QR code to order as suggested. I was disappointed to find that the majority of the sweet pastries were already sold out, and many of the breakfast items were not available either --- clearly, we should have arrived much earlier. Once our order was placed, we waited quite a while before our drinks arrived. I opted for the "Out to Lunch," which was a refreshing, chartreuse-forward Prosecco drink --- good, but not great. My friend ordered the Pink Negroni, made with Lillet for color. Food-wise, we tried the Brown Butter Artichoke Boreka, which was buttery and perfectly flaky with a delicious filling. It definitely made me sad to miss out on the sweet pastries, because it was awesome. For my main meal, I ordered the Jerusalem bagel with smoked salmon. I'd never had a Jerusalem bagel, but appreciated the thinner size that felt more manageable to eat as a sandwich. Plus, the bagel itself was delicious, and the salmon, dill butter, and pickled onion were the perfect combination. Absolutely a gem of a bagel sandwich. This place is so good and pretty casual for a brunch or just to go. I will say it's incredibly busy on the weekend mornings/brunch ish time. If you go later in the afternoon it'll be less crowded but there is a chance that they will run out of things by then. I got a pistachio sticky bun (my favorite) the Jerusalem bagel with lox, the olive cream cheese boreka, and the Yemenite latte. They were all delicious except the latte tasted a bit too cinnamon/spicy for me but if you like things like chai it'll taste good I think. The food is all fairly priced and tastes so delicious. The only thing I have a problem with is the fact that there are never any seats. K'Far pastries are amazing, but only when eaten on the spot. When I came back to Philly for a visit last month, I had to get some pastries for hungry tummies who couldn't travel w me. Long story short, I ordered online a 6-pack pistachio buns and a dozen rugelach. I was excited for my friends to try some of my favorite hometown pastries but when I opened the box, I was hugely disappointed by FOUR pistachio buns , where there should have been SIX. I didn't check the contents of the two boxes when I went to the cafe to pick up my order, but regardless there should have been the right number of buns instead of 1/3 of what I ordered, missing. These are sizable buns - how do you get the count wrong? Because I had the pastries the following day of purchase, the buns didn't have the satisfyingly crunch and cushiony bite as I remembered (i've always had them fresh and sitting down at the cafe) but rugelach wasn't as bad. I went to K'Far for the first time over the weekend after passing by many times. The wait was a bit long, but that's to be expected on a weekend when something is this good. The bagel sandwich was so nice, with perfectly creamy cheese and a nice za'atar spread to cap it off. The bagel was crispy, but I maybe would have preferred slightly more bread. I will say, the babka was underwhelming, to the point I didn't even finish it, but the rugelach was incredible. I almost got a dozen to go, but decided my body didn't need that. I had lunch planned with a friend the next day, and she ironically said she wanted K'Far so I decided I could go again and try a salad this time since they sounded good the day before. Not the case. It was just some shredded kale and quinoa with barely noticeable dressing. The promised kumquats were nowhere to be found, and there were peppers that I'm pretty sure we're not mentioned on the menu. My friends salad was supposed to have bagel croutons, which were also missing. On top of that, the wait for a to go order seemed pretty absurd at nearly an hour. The only redeeming factor that day was the weekend special raspberry & cheese challah danish. Literally would go back there just to get it. Places like this are I love Yelp. I'd never have found it otherwise. This is a small, but nice, little spot. I had mushroom toast, a pistachio sticky bun, and a black coffee. The coffee was fine and the sticky bun was good, but the mushroom toast was absolutely out of this world. I'd never had anything like it before, and it was a real discovery. Stuff like this makes travel fun! I found the staff to be friendly, but I had to wait several minutes for someone to bus some tables and counter space before I could find a place to sit down. I noticed a server chatting with a buddy while empty, but un-bussed, tables were within easy view. C'mon, dude: bussing tables is not beneath your dignity. Do your part to increase table turnover and maximize your employer's revenue! The bussing thing is the difference between a four and five-star review. But hey, this is still a four-star place. It's worth the long line. The Jerusalem Bagel with butter and za'atar was decadently buttery and flavorful. Absolutely loved the Yemeni latte, which had so many spices and yet wasn't overpowering. I came to K'Far for dinner and had such a good experience that I decided to come back the next day and try some of their daytime offerings as well. Service was excellent for both night and day. Night - I had the lamb shank, medium-rare, and it came topped with pistachios, saffron and rose petals. It was the most beautifully plated lamb shank I've ever had, and it tasted amazing too. The portion was large enough that I think I could have had leftovers, but since I was pretty hungry and also travelling, I ended up eating the entire dish. Definitely would get it again. My guest ordered the mushroom risotto and it was very flavorful and a great option that is also vegan. Day - I ordered a latte with oat milk and tried the pistachio sticky bun. The latte was great and I am not a sticky bun person typically, but the pistachio option was intriguing. The sandwich was on a really tasty bagel but the smoked salmon was just OK. It's not something I would go back for in this city full of great sandwich options. I have been here on multiple occasions for pastries and breakfast , so this review won't touch on dinner. Everything I have eaten here is outstanding. The Jerusalem bagel has the perfect bread, fluffy eggs, and the spread really adds a nice touch. The tahina cookie is pretty good, the dark chocolate can be overpowering at times, but if that is your jam then go for it. The chocolate babka was dense and filling. The mini rugelach have a nice flaky pop of deliciousness. The sticky bun is by far one of the best sticky buns I have had in my life and I have a big sweet tooth. Finally, I had the Swiss chard boreka which is a nice change from the sweetness. Somolov doesn't disappoint with this tasty new addition to his collection of restaurants! Came here for a late Saturday brunch and things were as expected - light, bright, and breezy! The location is next to all the other Rittenhouse action so parking is tight but can be found! We had come during a decent weather day so parked a few blocks north and took the walk down. The decent weather also was good to show that the place has outdoor seating as I noticed the outdoor furniture was out when we walked up. Inside, the entryway is long and then opens up nicely after getting past the initial service counter. It's a bit awkward on the ordering process, the line has to bend a little back and forth in order to not get too crowded, but once done ordering, it's self seating and service to your spot. We sat at the bar which worked out great, but would like to try their tables next time. The self seating option is nice, but can stay crowded longer with people lingering (ourselves included.) For food, they were out of the Jerusalem bagel (:\) when we went, so we chose their avocado toast (with labneh, pickled persimmon, and dill), an order of their kale tabbouleh, some coffees (they were out of the Yemenite latte), and their Turkish Garden mocktail. Service was pretty easy. Everything came out quickly and was savored up just the same! We appreciated the speediness and the wait staff were great on keeping our water glasses full and even topped off our coffees. The food was solid and we really liked that we got to taste a little bit of all the different flavor profiles. I liked that there were multiple vegetarian options available on their brunch menu. This is likely when we would possibly return. Their dinner menu doesn't look to have too much for vegetarians. Near, K'far, wherever you are, I believe that you should come here. I'm not one who likes to go back to places a lot but lately every time someone asks me where I want to go for lunch, it's here. I've tried several of the grain bowls (the salmon is a standout) and bagels (they are fried like paninis), most of the borekas, the avocado toast (perfect) the pistachio sticky bun (which is amazing and sells out early so get there in the earlier side to guarantee you can get it) and I can never resist the 3 for $5 rugelach, which is absolutely incredible. The yemeni latte is delicious too! For lunch, you line up and order at the front, they will give you your drinks and pastries (or borekas) and then give you a number for your food and a server will bring that out. It's pretty fast, but the line can get long around prime lunch time so if your time is limited I'd suggest getting there before 12. You can serve yourself water and help yourself to utensils and then bus your own table. I've mostly sat outside which is nice in the warmer months but a bit cumbersome to bring all your utensils and water out there. I'm very much looking forward to trying dinner here! Just go. All I can say is this place lives up to the hype. We tried a bunch of menu items. The Jerusalem bagels are deliciously crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Both the butter/zaatar and the egg/cheese ones were perfect. The smoked trout toast was a large portion although quite salty (a given when you're eating smoked fish though). I loved the Yemenite latte. The cardamom flavor is strong, and the latte itself was so creamy but not too sweet. The plain latte was equally delicious and creamy. I met a friend in Philly for a day this weekend, and K'Far Cafe was our first stop for breakfast! We ordered a smoked salmon Jerusalem bagel (smoked salmon, cream cheese, scallions, and capers), a pistachio sticky bun, a Yemenite latte, and a Sachlav cappuccino. Everything was delicious, but the Jerusalem bagel might be the single best bite of food we had in our 24 hours in Philadelphia! As non-locals, we found street parking almost impossible to find nearby on a Saturday morning around 8:30/45. It's a cute cafe aesthetically and the staff is dressed in a cohesive way. The problem is the pricing of the food / coffee. I paid $18 for some bread and an espresso. They also charge a 10% service charge.... but it's not a "tip." I ordered the food through the phone app they use anyway.... there is no "service" being provided. Mike Solomonov has done it again. I came here on a Saturday morning around 8:05am (they open at 8am) and there was already a huge line. I ended up waiting for about 25 minutes, but it was worth it. The space is lovely with absolutely gorgeous decor. I got a Yemenite Latte (with ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom) that was amazing. I also got an Egg and Cheese Jerusalem Bagel (egg, cooper sharp cheese, and schug). Egg and cheese bagels are already a thing of beauty, but this took them to a whole new level. The sesame Jerusalem bagel was nice and crispy, and the flavor of the whole sandwich was just stunning. I also got a Chocolate Babka and Pistachio Sticky Bun to-go, which I ate later in the day.
