Always my favorite spot when I'm craving skewers. They have a good variety of skewers to choose from. The corn and century egg tofu is definitely something you need to order. Food is flavorful and comes out fresh. Service is always good and a good late night spot place to hang out with friends
We wanted to try Mongolian skewers, and this was definitely the spot to do it! The seating area is on the smaller side, with about 7-8 tables that can seat roughly 4-6 people each, so it feels cozy and lively. The menu has a huge variety of skewers -- lamb, beef, beef tendon, chicken feet, venison, chicken hearts, and more. My party was excited and basically wanted to try everything. The skewers are pretty small, but that just means you get to sample more -- I'm pretty sure we went through around 60 skewers total and I honestly enjoyed them all. Aside from the skewers, the eggplant dish and the crawfish were especially delicious, so I highly recommend ordering those too. Service was fast and helpful. You can keep ordering as you go, and the food comes out quickly, which makes the whole experience fun and easy. If you're craving skewers, you've got to check this place out -- it's a must-try!
We didnt reserve,all tables were taken but manage to get seated within 20 minutes. Theres very limited tables so reservations is recommended. Staff is of excellent service. The most authentic tasting skewers Ive tried. The best skewers restaurant in Hawaii. Its a small dining space so it can get loud.
Khan Skewer Restaurant: A Delightful Surprise Khan Skewer Restaurant has been on my radar as a place to try. Since it was Restaurant Week, we promptly made a dinner reservation (highly suggested). While dining, I did see a walk-in party being turned away (or perhaps told to return later). It's located on Isenberg St near South King in Moiliili, fronting the St. Louis Clubhouse. Parking available in a handful of spaces fronting the restaurant or on the street. We ordered the Restaurant Week menu which was for 2-3 persons. The garlic edamame appetizer came out quickly. The deep fried chicken tenders and skewers were served atop a wooden serving tray. The 2-top table became quite crowded, with dishes arranged in puzzle-like fashion, as the server quipped. Our favorites of the evening were the chicken tenders, eggplant, and butter scallops (which were individually served as there were prepared in 3 different ways). The grand finale was the snow fluffy milk ice, which was available in lilikoi or peach flavor. Noticed a nearby table eyeing it from afar lol. Such a great way to end a meal!
We tried Khan Skewer recently and overall it was just ok for me. I wouldn't necessarily suggest it to others, but I also wouldn't mind going back if someone invited, just not a place I'd go out of my way for. Others in my party enjoyed their food more than I did. The flavors were pretty similar across most of the dishes, so nothing really stood out. The mushrooms came in a foil container with a soup/sauce that felt a bit odd. I really loved the corn, I ordered two! Dessert at the end was actually good though and a nice finish to the meal. Service was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. Parking is small but there's street parking nearby. When we arrived there were only a few parties seated, but by the time we left the place was packed with people waiting for tables, so definitely make reservations.
I have been wanting to try here for a while, finally got to come out tonight. Super cute small place but so worth it. We waited for about 20 mins but didn't seem that long. Service was great, food didn't take to long to come out, we ordered more as we went. Everything came out cooked on skewers, the pan was warm to keep the food items warm. I loved the mushroom medley as well. I'll be back again with friends and maybe even try one of their tower alcoholic drinks, those looked good.
I always love coming here! The atmosphere is lively and fun! Food is always good. Tried the venison for the first time and it was great without and sauce. Tender and flavorful! Eggplant is always a winner with the garlic and butter. Chicken wings is another go to for us. Servers are always friendly no matter how busy they get. It is understandable that they may get overwhelmed at times but they are always happy to serve. Place has gotten so much busier lately so make sure you make a reservation before coming
After eating our way through Flushing, NY last month and finding our new addiction-skewers, we've been craving them since we came back home. I've only had tried HNL skewer house but my fiance wanted to try this place. Definitely satisfied my craving, we left happy and full (but $150 poorer lol). We arrived at 5:44pm and the waitress/ hostess was like "we have a reservation at 7:30 do you think you can finish in time?" Who takes 2 hours to eat dinner but I told her of course so she sat us. They quickly brought us our dipping sauce and spice and a cute warmer tray heated by some tea candles. We ordered the pork belly, lamb, chicken gizzard,and beef tongue skewers, all were DELICIOUS. The dipping sauce was kind of like a fresh garlic and chili pepper sauce? I'm not really sure, it was sweet, refreshing and spicy all at the same time. And went perfectly with the fatty meat skewers and whatever spice mix they put on the side. We ended up asking for extra of both dips lol. For our sides we got the fried rice- big chunks of pork belly in it, yum. Scallop with vermicelli- a little too zingy for my taste and the scallops were quite small. Eggplant- juicy and garlicky! One of the best things we ordered! And the golden tofu- someone posted a picture here of skewers with the caption but it was NOT SKEWERS! Just pan fried spicy tofu... mid. Your meal also comes with a complimentary dessert- snow. Peach or passion fruit, with Frosted Flakes on top! Tasted like frozen cereal bowl lol so yummy. My only two issues were the price and the service a bit. It was fully packed and there was only one person taking orders but she forgot quite a few of our things and we had to wave her down multiple times for the same things. And prices were a little crazy too- $8-$12 for 3-5 skewers. In New York they were $1-2 each AND higher quality. Overall we'll be back but definitely only for a special occasion due to the price. ALSO!!! Make a reservation if you have a big party! The restaurant is quite small and gets busy fast.
Spent $$$ just for mediocre food that is seasoned all the same way and terrible service. Immediately upon entry, the place smelled of strong spices. Took a while to get greeted and sat. We ordered so much food (not all captured). We even had a special occasion we were celebrating. Our server asked if we'd like them to sing to the person of honor so we said yes. But she dropped off the shaved ice and left. It was pretty disappointing to be honest..
One of the best Asian skewer restaurant in Honolulu. Friendly staff and cozy beer house atmosphere. Wide selections of skewers, but I like the salt & pepper corn and zucchini the best. Remember, if you can't handle spicy, request for mild spiciness. Will definitely come back. It opens late till 1am so a great late night spot
Great service at this new to me restaurant. Came to celebrate the Chinese New Year and was treated with special lai see treats. First a lai see for coming and then one for on the spot discounts (from $$ to % discounts). Staff was super friendly and assorted skewers and courses delicious! The oysters were the star of the show! I love garlic and the dishes were well seasoned with it. Great spot!
They have onsite parking but only one of the gates is open. When parking, it's tight. If you get there at opening time, you can back into a spot rather head in first since only one gate is open. Came in and ordered a few things. Skewers were okay, got a mushroom medley and green onion pancake which was flavorful and crispy.

We came here on a Monday night to celebrate my friend's birthday. Good thing we had reservations for 6:30pm because the place was packed by 7:00pm. Located next to Maple Garden and right across from Old Stadium Park, one could easily pass this place in a blink of an eye if you don't drive slowly. There is ample parking in the front and in the back of the building. This place is tiny and gets crowded fast! I was amazed at how packed it got on a Monday night. Now for the food. We did family style and tried so many things on the menu. We ordered the pancakes, tofu, and mandoo for the appetizers. Beef, sausages, pork belly, pork belly enoki, chicken, oysters, mushrooms, and Maui venison skewers. Spicy shrimp with veggies and mushrooms medley in the foil pan. The chive pancakes and pork belly with enoki mushrooms were my favorite! So tasty and filling. The service was pretty good. They were super busy and short staffed but they made every effort to accommodate us and everyone else. Service took a bit long but the food was well worth it! They have happy hour specials after 9pm. Will definitely come back for that! Super fun concept. Great to do family style with a group of people so you can try a little bit of everything! read more

Always a pleasure eating here. Tried out their century egg and we love, tofu is served cold but well balanced with the spice. Beef tongue tasty and is chewy. Sausage was okay, and personally wouldn't order the corn again as you still have to use your hand to eat it... sliced but not in a way that you can scoop and eat it. Located where the old Agu on Isenberg used to be. With parking right in front, or around the back towards the St. Louis Clubhouse. When we got into the restaurant, we were promptly greeted by their staff. As we sat down, we were served cups of iced water in addition to some sauces which included a pineapple apple and thai chili alongside cayenne pepper and cumin. Started off with that 3L soft drink Real Peach Bowl with daily fruit selection such as grapefruit, lemon, grapes and lime. Enough for 4-6 people, bring your friends and your bladder control. Some of my favorite food items included the green onion pancake, scallop with vermicelli, grilled garlic oysters, deep fried baby tako, chicken wings, and pork belly with enoki mushroom. I'm drooling writing about this! And don't forget to save room for those shave ice flavors (peach or milk chocolate) which is a limited special for the Thanksgiving holiday. This is our first time here. It was a very small but cozy restaurant. Lots of young people come and dine and drink beer with their meal. We are greeted and sat down without reservations. But it's suggested. However, the young come to eat, enjoy, and out quickly. Our waiter was friendly and helped us make selections. He asked if we want mild or spicy. I quickly said mild, but was like medium. I appreciate him asking. They brought the food out in 15-20 minutes...not long, one after another... Asparagus dusted with cayenne powder. Fried calamari Shrimp - celery, cabbage, and potatoes underneath Skewer Mushrooms w/ cayenne powder Skewer Zucchini w/cayenne powder Green onion pancake Rice Dessert: Peach shave ice (free) Chocolate shave ice (free) The food is mild to spicy. I would request that skewer vegetables have no cayenne powder because you need a bland palate to appreciate shrimp dish that's spiced differently with potatoes, cabbage, savory, and good! Salt and pepper would be enough for vegetables.... Fried calamari is not spiced and dipped it in a slightly spiced pineapple sauce which added a different level of flavor...nice, very nice. Tried Screwer Mongolian BBQ in Hawai'i and was really impressed -- everything was fresh, the flavors were solid, and the Maui venison was the highlight. It was tender, well-seasoned, and something you don't see often at Mongolian spots. Staff was friendly, portions were good, and the whole place had a nice local vibe. Midnight night dining is essentially nonexistent since the lockdown. Many restaurants are either closed, or decided to close much earlier--even on the weekends! I'm constantly searching Yelp for what's open (and good) past midnight, and each and every time is always Khan Skewer that I don't even need to search anymore. Open till 1AM Thursday to Sunday! Since my last review a year ago, Khan Skewer has been much better, and most importantly, consistently good--both in service and food. I've been here many, many times that I can safely say that I've tried at least 90-92% of the menu, and there was nothing that disappointed. All the skewers are very well prepared and cooked. The meats are seasoned and marinated very well, and grilled just right to maintain the juices and get the char. My favorites here are the lamb, chicken skin, beef, pork intestines, beef tongue, pork jowl, pork sausage, chicken cartilage, chicken heart, chicken feet, chicken wings, pork belly, shrimp, beef brisket, beef tendon... I believe I named the entire skewer menu because they're all good! All the pieces are bigger sized compared to other places, so all the meats do maintain it's tender- and juiciness. The chicken skin and pork intestines are handled very well, and cooked thoroughly to a very nice crisp and char. Outside of skewers, there's a nice variety of appetizers and special dishes that are as good. Its seafood dishes are all excellent. The Garlic Grilled Oysters are excellent. Perfectly cooked, garlicky, juicy, and sweet. The Grilled Scallop with Vermicelli is very good. Very well cooked. Scallops maintained its juiciness and sweetness. Garlicky, tasty, and flavorful. The Grilled Whole Squid was a pleasant surprise. Each piece was super tender and flavorful with Khan's special seasoning. Eggplant is a must. Soft and tasty with a nicely charred skin with just the right amount of oiliness. The Enoki mushrooms is a must. Had a nice char and with excellent flavor. The Dried Bean Curd with Cilantro is a favorite for everyone, except me, as I'm not a fan of cilantro in Chinese food (others OK). Solid appetizers all around. Century Egg with Tofu Salad and Braised Beef Salad w/ Cucumber were both good. Nicely seasoned and flavorful. Edamame was another surprise. Tasty and well prepared. The Spicy Wonton was an even better surprise. Authentic tasting wontons with a delicious spicy sauce. The Deep Fried Baby Tako and Calamari were very good. Tender squid and octopus, well seasoned, and fried to a nice crisp. Salt and Pepper Corn was a solid surprise. Sweet corn with the spicy and savory seasonings makes is a wonderful combination. Green Onion Pancake was good. Simple and spot on. Special Foil Pan dishes--Garlic Chinese Baby Cabbage and Garlic Clams with Vermicelli are both very good. Well prepared, garlicky with soft vermicelli all in a tasty broth. The Chef Special Griddle Fried Spicy Shrimp is a must. Nice sized shrimp fried and seasoned very well in a pot with potatoes and fish cake that just soaked up all the flavor. Amazing! Overall, a big reason why Khan Skewer has me coming back again and again, which is something I NEVER DO as I like to try different places and different foods, is because everything is consistently well prepared and well seasoned and spot on. Never disappointed, never said "oh, not as good as last time". I still have more to try! Ask for their extra spicy seasonings if the one on the table isn't enough. Let's go! read more

We celebrated my friends bday here as a large group. There is parking in the front and back. We got a big beer soju drink and it was easy to drink. You got to choose your beer and soju flavor. The skewers were all delicious! It's a little on the pricey side but all very good. Our favorite items were: Eggplant - very tasty Pork jowl Lamb The sauce they bring to eat with the skewers was also really good. Garlicky but sweet and had kick. Service was good and they even gave us free buns with condensed milk as a happy birthday dessert. Will definitely be back ! read more

I finally tried this for a late night dinner after having lived across the street from it for a year. We did takeout and ordered at the restaurant. The skewers were great, lots of flavor, they just got cold faster which is probably a take out thing. The garlic eggplant was so good though, I will probably come back just for that. We had chicken gizzards, beef tongue and green onion pancake. I tried to be adventurous and the chicken gizzards definitely made me miss having them deep fried. Next time I have to try dine in to get the full experience. read more
I came here and noticed that every person in this establishment was speaking Mandarin or Cantonese, so you know the food is authentic. Everyone gets a saucer of spicy pineapple apple sauce and dry chili cumin. Be careful with the dry chili cumin because it has a tendency to go down in the wrong pipe. I liked everything I ordered. Grilled beef, lamb, chicken were tender and seasoned with chili cumin with the right amount of char. Salt and pepper corn was bursting with flavor. Enoki mushrooms were umami and soaked up some delicious pork belly fat. Oysters were super tasty as well and topped with garlic sauce and grilled just until there was a slight caramelization. The downside is that it was very expensive, because portion size was like tapas, so you have to order many dishes to fill up. We easily spend $130 for 2 adults and 2 kids and we weren't even super hungry. read more

Very chill and relaxing atmosphere. Service is quick, from ordering to eating within 10-15 minutes. Ordered a variety of meats and dishes, with the venison, lamb, and with big intestine (crunchy skin with perfect interior chewiness) being the favorites. Not overly salty so you can enjoy the natural taste of the meat itself. Highly recommended after a tiring work day. read more

I love a place thats dog friendly! You just need to add notes to your reservation that you're bringing your furry friend with you and they'll set you up in the corner of the restaurant. Theres some parking in their complex but it might be shared with something else behind them. They said that you are able to park at the bank, but you'll need to add a ticket on your dashboard. Street parking is also available too around the park, but it's probably safer to park it at the bank since there's homeless around the park area at night. We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu. Our favorites of the night was the clam vermicelli, pancake, fried tako, chicken wings, and thighs. We also ordered this gigantic passion fruit tower that we could have probably shared with the entire restaurant. We barely made a dent in that. We ordered so much food that we had so much left over to take home too. read more

This is now my number one favorite restaurant on Oahu. Especially when I'm craving for spicy Sichuan Mongolian flavors this place beats the other two top Sichuan restaurants I've been to. Everything is freshly grilled and I can really tell the difference. So much flavor and every skewer is cooked to perfection. Spicy just how I like it. The warming tray for the skewers is a nice touch as it keeps every skewer as fresh as possible. Mongolia Special Fried Rice: Wow this is a 10/10 fried rice with my favorite lamb in it. Lots of flavor and I like to add more lamb from the skewers to it. I'm glad there's no peas lol. Spicy Wonton: It was good but not great. Tasted a little underwhelming compared to others I've had so wouldn't get again. Scallop w/vermicelli: Very flavor packed and ono! Bacon Pork with Enoki Mushroom wrap: Very unique first time trying this combination it was pretty good. Grilled Garlic Lobster: It was yummy but I ate it in one bite so I think I'd rather spend the money on more skewers. Service was very impressive as we were immediately greeted upon opening the door and seated and served right away. Our server constantly checked on us to make sure we had water and everyone was very friendly. Loved the complimentary shaved ice in the end as I was sweating a bit it was the perfect way to cool off and end the meal. Don't know why some reviews complain about the parking. We came at 6pm and there were plenty of parking stalls in the front, side and back lot. Very easy to make reservations using the OpenTable app. Some reviews say it is very noisy but we were there from 6pm to 7:20pm and it was pretty quiet and the music was chill. There aren't a lot of restaurants I would go to more than once but Khan Skewer has definitely earned the top spot in my favorites and I am already feeling the craving to go back again! read more
It was past midnight when I found myself here. Compared to the rowdy bars we had just left, this restaurant was calm and inviting. Even thought we were there an hour before closing, the servers were still accommodating and welcoming. We ordered the chicken heart, the lamb, and the zucchini skewers. We still talk about the zucchini, what seasonings do they use? The spicy shrimp is also a must have. They weren't as spicy as I wanted them to be, but they were packed with flavor. The food was super good, the service was super good！！！ The food looks very tempting! In the first picture, the skewer is fragrant and attractive, as if it had been cooked just right, with the outside burning and the inside tender. The second picture of garlic scallops full of layers, garlic overflowing, fans full of soup, very appetizing. The roasted eggplant in the third image is sprinkled with cilantro and scallion in a mouth-watering sauce. Each dish showcases the essence of the ingredients and is very desirable! read more

Recommend if you are looking for a higher-end skewer spot! Food here is really good, prices are a bit higher so if you're coming to eat a lot the checks gonna rack up. Starting with the deep fried baby Tako, I think is a must order here, super good. The homemade green onion pancake is also a must get! The garlic chinese baby cabbage is super good, it comes out steaming and is served with some sort of noodle. The oysters here are so delicious we had to order another plate LOL. As for meat, we tried a bit of everything but my favorite was the lamb! Check it out! read more
