I came here for a girls date with my friend on a Friday night without reservations. We checked in at 6:15 pm and were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait since the host said that people were finishing up, but we didn't get seated until around 7:20pm. We didn't mind though since there was a bench outside and my friend and I had a lot to catch up on with each other. If it's your first time coming here, look for the blue fenced lot directly across from the park. It can be difficult to find at first since large cars might block the view, and the restaurant is located in the middle of the parking lot behind the blue fencing. There is ample parking in the lot in the front, sides and more in the back. There's also lots of street parking along the park and restaurant side as well, just be careful if you're traveling in a small group since there are some sketchy people hanging out at the park at night! When you first enter the restaurant, you're greeted by the distinct smell of Mongolian spices. It's a cozy space with mainly small tables, but they do have larger tables for groups in the back although I'm not sure it would be ideal for a party larger than 8-10. We ordered more than I included photos for, but I'd like to mention that my favorites are always the century egg tofu salad, tongue, lamb, beef, intestines, and the garlic scallop vermicelli noodles! I tried to get my friend to try the intestines, but most say it's an acquired taste so she wasn't into it, haha. If you're up for something new and haven't tried it before, I highly recommend it though! They also give a double sauce dish of more spices and a house made applesauce sauce. I know it might sound strange, but the Mongolian spices mixed with the tangy sweet of the applesauce tastes really good together! At the end of the meal, they provide you with a free shaved ice dessert that is perfect to split between two people. They have flavors like lychee, peach and chocolate, but we chose the chocolate and it was the perfect way to end our meal. Overall, this is one of my go-to spots for late night conversation and hanging out with friends. I have frequented this place and there is a good reason for it. This restaurant is open quite late and is a chinese style izakaya. The main purpose for most to visit is to eat and drink, but I enjoy the flavorful skewers so much that I often come just to grab a bite late at night. Speaking of late night, they actually have a 10% off happy hour every day after 9pm if I remember correctly. It is also automatically applied which is awesome. The servers are all very nice and the process is quick and simple, you order the skewers and they bring it out and put it on the hot plate (which they light up at the beginning of your meal). They also often have events/celebrations where they provide you with a free shaved ice, such as simple gesture but it really helps to complete an experience! Foods: - Thousand Years Egg Tofu Salad: RECOMMEND, i love this dish, easily a 10/10 side I would often order. I have grown up eating century eggs so I like the flavor and it contrasts very well with the tofu. It is light yet flavorful, a nice addition to your heavier meats. If you don't enjoy century eggs, you may not enjoy this dish, but my friends has said that the tofu helps balance out the strong flavor of the egg. - Scallion Pancakes: RECOMMEND A must try if you have never have this item. It is quite heavy but the texture and flavor is just top notch, crispy on the outside and dense and chewy at the same time (in a very good way). If I know that I am quite hungry and the meats won't fill me, this is the perfect addition (compared to ordering plain rice) - Eggplant: personally wouldn't reorder again, it was still very flavorful but I just didn't enjoy the texture of the skin, worth a try though. I usually like egg plant but likely due to being bbqed, the skin roughed up a bit too much. - Enoki Mushrooms: again, flavorful and maybe i would reorder? It just didn't stand out to me - Chicken skin: very good and crispy, just less MEAT focused (duh). - Chicken Gizzard: RECOMMEND so good, crunchy and nice chew, love ordering this at skewer establishments. - Pork belly: also good - Fish tofu: didn't stand out but still flavorful, slightly sweeter in its nature - King oyster mushrooms: flavorful, surprising I would prefer ordering this over the enoki if i wanted mushroom, just felt more flavorful? - Beef Tongue: RECOMMEND, the best thing on the menu imo, very flavorful, meat is perfectly chewy (as tongue would be) yet tender. As in the name of the restaurant, this is a great place if you're looking for skewers without having to do it yourself :) there were so many options you can choose from for skewers along with other items you can order. Once you sat down, they lit up a bunch of small candles under a metal tray where the skewers can go and stay warm. Food didn't take too long until towards the end when I asked if ordering more would take long and the server said no, it should be fast. Except we ended up waiting a while to getting them. It was getting more busy with limited servers but still didn't plan to wait as long. They do serve complimentary shave ice at the end (we got passion fruit sis it was pretty good). I wanted to check this restaurant out for a while because of their Scallop Vermicelli! It looked like the never nostalgic dish I LOVED when I visited China as a kid. But I never had a chance to check it since I moved out of Hawaii. Finally, during one of my visits back home, my friends and I made it here! It's located next to Maple Garden and across of the Honolulu Stadium State Park on Isenberg St in Mo'ili'ili. There's a small parking lot with a handful of spots to park in. If not, there are a lot of street parking that, I believe, is free after 6pm or during weekends? My friends and I ordered a TON of foods and shared amongst each other. Some of the things we ordered were the: - Century Egg with Tofu Salad - me and my Chinese friends are obsessed with century eggs, so we had to get it. The dish itself was okay. The seasoning was not something super unique in my opinion. - Scallop Vermicelli - obviously had to get it. The dish was really flavorful with garlic and scallop flavor in the noodles. It was super delicious that we ordered another round because of me. - Garlic Clam with Vermicelli - YUM! So much flavor with all the garlic and clam simmered into the vermicelli. Loved this so much that we also ordered this twice. - Deep Fried Baby Tako - can never go wrong with this delicious dish! Very crispy too. - Homemade Green Onion Pancake - nice and crispy with a delicious crunch to it. Quite oily though. - Skewers: Pork Belly w/ Enoki Mushrooms, Beef, Beef Tongue, Lamb - I originally thought we would cook our own skewers as there was a small "grill" placement. I don't recall ever having Mongolian food but after Googling which areas celebrate "Lunar New Year" and finding out Mongolia did, we chose this restaurant. Note: almost everything here has spice, so if you don't like spicy food, this place probably isn't for you. All of the meat skewers have the same spice rub on it. You'd think that you'd get a little tired of it, but you don't, it totally works. Contrary to what some reviews say about the meat being dry, we didn't have that problem on our visit. Everything was really good. Skewers come in a set of 3 or 5, interesting how they do that. My favorite dish was the scallop and vermicelli. The eggplant was also really different and I enjoyed it. The guy who served us was really nice, attentive and informational. As soon as we were done eating, we were ready to leave as to not occupy the table. The server was so concerned something was wrong (because we were leaving so quickly). I thought that was really nice of him to have concern that it wasn't good but we assured him that we enjoyed it. Never been here before but we had edamame chicken tenders,mushrooms, onion pancake, 4 different skewers (lamb,venison,wagyu,pork belly), eggplant, scallop vermicelli.. all the dishes were really tasty and had a lot of garlic in it, which I loved. I especially enjoyed the pork belly and venison skewers. There were 2 different things you could dip your skewers in. A spicy pineapple sauce and a chili powder and cumin mix. Both sauces were good, but my fav was the pineapple one. At the end we got a really good lilikoi dessert which is like a really fine shave ice. It was really good and refreshing. Tucked away in a lot with some other places and a decent amount of parking. Food was incredible and brought out quickly. The items that stood out were the lamb skewers which were seasoned perfectly and weren't too gamey. The pork belly and enoki skewers were the star of the show however. A lot nicer than most other chinese skewers joints I've been to and the servings are plentiful. The one item I disliked was the king oyster mushroom skewer. Big chunks of the stalk were provided which is unlike I've seen at the other places and they were unpleasantly chewy. To complete our meal, we added two bowls of rice. The clear winner for me was the lamb skewers. Both the lamb and the Maui venison had a delightful spice rub and were incredibly tender. The grilled garlic lobster tail was good, but it didn't quite live up to my lofty lobster expectations. The eggplant dish - that was a game-changer! Ok so I didn't realize all the food is spicy ... it's pre seasoned that way and there's extra chili flakes you can add to it. If you're like me and can't handle spicy food... be warned. Anyway so I tried a little bit of everything. I had the spicy wontons. Flavor wise it was ok, texture was very good. The scallop vermicelli was flavorful and soft. Now onto the skewers, the beef one tasted ok. I should have started with the beef one first because that's the most neutral one. The lamb is so good and flavorful that it outshines the beef. I had the pork intestine which was soft and crispy. If you don't like intestines, you're not gonna like this one. The pork jowl was ok... it reminded me of Chinese roast pork. Chicken was nice and tender. I also tried the zucchini and king mushroom skewers. The mushrooms were ok. I think the zucchini stood out more in terms of flavor. It was a pleasant meal because there is so much variety ... plus I like that the restaurant keeps the food on a warmer... so your food doesn't get cold. Another late night find....walked in and they had tables available with a few reserved, but they took us walk ins with no problem. Parking is street or the few stalls that are in front of restaurant. Service is so-so, most of the workers have a accent and english is their second language. At first they were attentive, then as the dishes came out it was kinda lacking, they forgot some of our orders and we had to remind them, when they drop off your order they don't tell you what it is and sometimes they look all similar. It's a small restaurant, but cozy, the music was kinda loud the night we went. Despite the service the skewers were so good and they told us after 9pm all menu items are 50% off, how can you not order the lobster. What we found interesting is they have tea light under a metal plate to keep the food warm, but not everything can fit and they only put the skewers on the metal tray. We ordered: Chicken feet - loved it, perfect texture and amount of seasoned spice Brisket w/tendons - good and soft (boyfriends description) Lamb - very moist with the perfect fat and meat ratio, not as gamey King oyster mushroom - good but the seasoning would fall off Most of the options come with 3-5 skewers per order which is a good amount. Each meal comes with chili flakes and this pineapple chili sauce that you can dip in. Really loved the pineapple chili sauce because it was sweet and spicy mix. Overall, I give this place 4/5. 4 because you get guarantee spice flavors on every piece and it's all cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed this spot! It does get pretty crowded so would definitely try to make a reservation. Environment can get loud but it's a fun spot with friends. Parking lot has decent amount of parking, the service is good and fast. If you're a meat lover and want to try different cooked meats on skewers, this place is for you. The meats have very similar spice taste though but enjoyed getting to try lamb, venison, calamari, pork belly all in one meal. Skewers come in 3 or 5 and I definitely recommend the homemade green onion pancakes! read more

We came here for dinner and did a last minute reservation. It's a smaller restaurant and reservations is recommended. Parking seemed small but we got one right in front of the restaurant. This is where Agu Ramen used to be in Moilili. Menu is mainly meat and veggie skewers, seafood, and side appetizers. This skewer place is..order and they cook it for you before bringing it out. I believe one order is about 5-7 skewers for one price. The skewers can get a bit spicy but the flavor was delicious. We ordered a bunch of skewers from chicken, beef, lamb, and pork. The meat skewers were juicy and tender. We also ordered a seafood dish (scallop with noodles) which is my favorite! We ordered the spicy wonton on the side and it wasn't bad.
