Excellent food. Great staff. Wonderful ambiance at the bar or at a table. Bartenders are great.

My partner and I had dinner on Tuesday night, October 10, 2023. The appetizers were excellent, including the fire fries and fig salad. The entrees were a disappointment. The pasta dish was swimming in a rather tasteless cream sauce. The scallop dish had an aftertaste of ammonia from the scallops. I noticed it from the first bite of scallop I ate. This was unacceptable as this happens when the scallops are less than fresh. The service was average, as our waitress seemed very uninterested and not very personable. Was not a welcoming energy. I would rate the overall experience a 2.5 stars. Would not eat here again. read more

I really like this place. done in wood tones and soft lighting it has a small intimate feel. The staff is really friendly. I'd stopped by to see if i could make a reservation and found they don't taken the for less than parties of 6 but talking about when we were planning to stop by they took the time to discuss when was best-and they were quite right. I had the fillet mignon, After a week full of sea food i wanted something more terrestrial and it was wonderfully cooked with just enough extras to round out the meal. that sort of deal where 2-3 bites more would have been a little too much but oh you wanted them. My wife also starting to grow scales from all the seafood, had the roast chicken and loved it. One word of warning and it's a matter of personal taste. My wife and i both like a cocktail called a "french 75." gin, lemon juice, a sweetener like sugar and champagne. Several places in Lewes do this. Kindle offer a Tokyo 75 using Sake. my wife and I each tried it. If you like to drink gin neat it is fine. we do not. WOW, we both toasted it other took a sip and both made a face. read more

This place has all the elements for a great restaurant. The atmosphere is classic beach town without being overwhelming. The food is delicious, service is exceptional and cocktails are well-done. I had the scallops with ramen, and everything was expertly prepared. I will be back! Popular place, so be prepared to wait, but it will be well-worth it. read more

We went to Kindle during busy dinner hours, so we assumed we might have to wait a long time. We were pleasantly surprised when we were seated after only a short wait. The food is here is delightfully delicious, the price point do match the food quality imo. I like the mushroom scallops special with the house special sauce. The ambience is pleasant and cozy. We had a wonderful meal on the patio and felt safely seated far enough away from others in the restaurant. All staff wore masks and the bathroom was clean. We each ordered something different and all enjoyed our meals as well as the wine. Place was relatively empty. Gave it a whirl this afternoon. I had the mushroom soup, which had a nice rich broth. The steak sandwich was good, although the bun was not the right size/shape so I didn't bother eating it. My kids were also not offered kids menus - which is cool as they totally eat off the adult menu anyway. Crayons would have been nice as the other tables had them. My biggest issue with this place was the health concerns. I watched several people clean off tables, and after doing so immediately setting them for the next guests. Gross. I watched a man (not even a gentleman as he blew his nose at the table - which is shameful as his parents never taught him manners), cough up something into his cloth napkin, leave it on the table, then sign the check with the house pen. THEN.....he got up, left his snotty napkin on the table, and the hostess not only cleaned up the mess, but also went to the clean silverware and plates.... set the table.......and then sat other people grabbing menus from her station. Clearly cleanliness is not of importance during this pandemic issue. Barfaroni. Have the hostess keep away from setting the tables! Gross. read more

Went here tonight with a local. Was asked by hostess to wait even though there were empty tables. We said no problem but we'd be happy to sit and relax until the server was ready. She said no because it would stress the server out. No worries we could wait. Was waiting for 15 minutes when 2 men came in and said they would be a party of 6 and the rest of their party would be coming in a little while. They were seated immediately. We questioned the hostess and she explained that they were a party of 6 so they got sat right away. The open tables were the same size. So is Kindle saying a party of 2 is less important than a party of 6? Sending a bad message to locals. read more

Kindle is our favorite place to eat in Lewes. It never disappoints! Great service, fabulous food, cozy, friendly atmosphere!

The first thing that I noticed was the space or thereby the lack of space. We were sitting on our neighbors laps basically. We could hear their entire conversations. We were quite hungry by the time the waitress finally approached us. The boyfriend ordered a dirty martini and was very dismayed that it came with ice floating around in it. This right here is a huge no-no. The last thing you want is your martini to be watered down! I ordered the filet mignonette, the queens cut which was 4 ounces. Imagine my disappointment when the meat that was served was in fact nothing more than strip steak. I ate it because I was literally ready to gnaw my arm off. Boyfriend had the lamb shank. The meat was perfectly cooked and falling off the bone, the problem was that it was smothered in an extremely heavy brown sauce. So much so that the entire plate was covered including the potatoes and carrots. The potatoes had areas that were uneven and uncooked. The only reason I gave one star was for the lamb. Save your money and go around the corner to Touch of Italy! That place beats them everyday in my book. read more

Kindle is a top favorite of ours. Every visit has been a wonderful experience. Food is of very good quality and value. It is thoughtfully prepared while not skimpy on portions, and meat is always cooked as requested. Drinks are delish and the staff has always been courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. I used to be such a big fan, and that's why last night disappointed. I came alone a 8pm on a Thursday. Yes I am alone and an unglamorous older lady but I eat out alone all the time and tip well, I greeted one of the two bartenders and she literally looked into my face and away. She turned her back and ent on as if I was not there. The bar was about 1/3 full. I can wait, but how about a menu. No nothing, after ten full minutes, I left. No reason to be like this ever. If they were closing, say so. So I had a $50 dinner down the street and left a good tip for that very attentive bartender. Bummed. read more

Been coming to the Rehoboth area for years but this was my first time eating here. I got the ginger cranberry margarita which was great. Tasted like a regular margarita with a ginger kick. I ordered the "cake and claw" appetizer; a crab cake with two (very small) claws and a brussel sprout slaw. The slaw needed salt and had thick slices of brussel sprouts instead of shaved which made it pretty hard to eat. The crab cake however was chock full of lump crab meat and served with a creamy grainy mustard sauce. Next I ordered the special, Cobia with pea and honey purée and roasted potatoes. I was so excited about it since cobia doesn't always show up on menus and I'd never had it before. BIG MISTAKE. Not only was the fish mediocre (not buttery at all like I've heard cobia described) but the pea purée was one of the worst things I've ever tasted at a restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I like peas and honey, but something about the flavors together did not work especially with the fish. It was honestly so unpleasant that after a few bites I sent it back. The server was very kind and didn't charge for it and instead I ordered the salmon dish. The salmon was cooked perfectly and came with a bright tomato purée and a creamy mushroom couscous. Absolutely splendid. My dad ordered dessert, the lemon cake, and although I didn't have any any he said it was good, but not the best he's ever had. Overall I would definitely give Kindle another try despite the cobia dish. read more

Stumbled upon Kindle on the 4th of July. Little nervous since there was no wait at 630PM but to our surprise, this place was amazing! The service was prompt, courteous and attentive without being overbearing and the food...the food was fantastic! They had an extensive kids menu that kept everyone happy and the regular menu had plenty of options to chose from. The drink menu is also very impressive (although one of the four beers on tap was kicked). Ambiance is more intimate especially with the lighting being on the darker side but overall, I would highly recommend Kindle! Did I mention, the food was amazing!!! :-) read more

Stopped in here to sit at the bar and have a few drinks. We first ordered the summer day which was fruity and light. Then we got a red pear (featured in a DE lifestyle magazine). It was delicious and strong. Similar to a pomegranate martini. There was extra so we basically got two drinks for the price of 1! The bartender was super friendly and attentive to us. For 3 drink orders we basically got 5 while drinks for $30! Such a steal and the atmosphere was intimate and calm. read more

Well, we have dined at Kindle many times, because it is consistently good on all levels (food, service , atmosphere, value). This visit was the worst. Service was slow, inattentive (no bread until we asked, long delay to place order, water refill never offered), food slow to arrive (long gap between apps and main), and the med rare filet arrived med well(neighboring table had the same overdone meat experience). I know staffing has been an issue, but we were here early (about 6:30-few tables seated). read more

Great service in a comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend the specials. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich. Truly amazing, so much flavor and moisture and tender. Also had the Tartine, this is a take on lox on a baguette slice. The salmon was nicely smoked and very fresh. I am very picky and hard to please. You will enjoy your meal at Kindle. I read complaints on Yelp of the price being to high. To those folks, the menu with prices are posted at the door. If you think it's too expensive don't go in. It leaves more room for the rest of us. read more

I have gone to Kindle a few more times and my opinion keeps rising. They put a lot of care into their offerings. I had pasta (Lobster Pasta) and my wife had Spiced Chicken and both were outstanding. Mixed drinks are generous and creative. We had a carrot cake to top it off. Excellent. read more

Kindle was the perfect spot to celebrate my mom's birthday this past weekend. Lex, our server, took great care of us and overall we had a great meal from start to finish. The drinks were tasty (both mixed and wine), and the food was consistently delicious. I shared the cheese & charcuterie board with my partner, and some olives with the table. For my entree, I had the Saffron Scallops, which were light and super flavorful. I loved the mushroom risotto cake and thought the scallops were very nicely prepared. To end a delightful meal, I had a scoop of the Limoncello Sorbet. My whole family really enjoyed the meal, and would definitely come back to check out more of the menu! read more

We sat at the bar and had a magnificent dinner. They have a nice wine and craft beer selection. We had the filet sandwich and Chilean Sea Bass special. The filet was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the sea bass was divine. Even though the bar was full, the service was prompt and friendly. I love Kindle. My favorite thing about it is that it always seems to be open year round and there is usually an open table or bar seat! Food and drink quality are pretty good for a small beach town. I've had several good meals here. For those complaining about the price I'm not sure where you are from. Maybe you only eat off the dollar menu from McDonalds and aren't aware what real food costs. Prices are pretty normal if you are from the D.C. area. On my last visit I got a pomegranate pear martini. So friggin good! And you get this bonus glass of martini with it and the whole thing costs only $10! Fantastic deal. read more

Great late lunch spot. Ate on outside patio! Waiter was super chill and friendly. My husband had a sirloin sandwich and he said it was crazy good!
